Sanjeeda interview.

One of the power packed performers of tinsel town, Sanjeeda Sheikh, has proved her mettle to the world with shows like Kyaa Hoga Nimmo Kaa, Kayamath, Ek Hasina Thi and many others. Bold and beautiful, the lady never shies away from voicing her opinion as an artist. Apart from good looks and her acting chops, what makes Sanjeeda stands out in the crowd is her confidence.

After delivering stunning performances in many shows, Sanjeeda is currently essaying the role of the protagonist in Colors' show Ishq Ka Rang Safed. In an exclusive conversation with Tellychakkar.com, Sanjeeda speaks up about her role, shows, and many more.

Excerpts.

Firstly, the usual one, how is your experience of working in Ishq Ka Rang Safed?

Amazing!!! I am really excited to essay the role of Dhaani. This is a new venture with a new production house and new channel for me, which indeed is a new way for me to explore. Naturally, I am very much thrilled about it. Moreover, my character is being shown as a strong-willed woman, which is indeed exciting to portray. It's a very positive atmosphere on the set and it's too fun to work with my co-stars.

You joined, IKRS, stepping into Eisha's shoes. Do you think it is difficult for an actor to step into someone else's shoe?

I don't believe so. First of all, even after essaying the same role, the character of Dhaani has undergone a drastic change, with Dhaani evolving as an independent and fierce lady. Moreover, it is a rare case after the replacement of a lead actor the show has done better. After my entry, IKRS is doing better in the number game. Hence, what really matters is the fact that as an actor whether we can pull off the role or not.

Aren't you uncomfortable about playing the role of a mother of a five year old kid?

Not at all. I am very much confident about what I am doing and I don't have any regrets for the same. Many might be scared of not getting roles after ageing, but if I can maintain myself and look young, I am sure that in future I can bag roles of young girls. I am not at all worried about that part.

You have always essayed strong characters, is it an intentional decision?

Yes, I know that my character in Ek Hasina Thi, Ishq Ka Safed portrays head strong woman, but that's not intentional at all. It just happened. And I believe that I have been blessed with a pretty innocent face. Naturally, I can perform in the role of the simple, naive characters as well in future. I have always give my 110 percent effort and I will continue to do so.

What is your take on social dramas on television?

There are couple of ongoing social dramas, which has wonderfully portrayed such social issues. I believe that if a show contains any social message then it should be delivered clearly and with more conviction to the audience. And our viewers should also take the message seriously so that we can truly spread awareness and can bring change in the life of many unfortunate people.

Your former co-star, Vatsal Seth, has recently signed a no dating contract for his upcoming venture, what do you have to say about the same?

I think my marital status makes me be in the safe zone, where no one will ask me to sign such contract. But, on a serious not, I don't think I am the right one to make any comment about it. Without having worked with the producers or without knowing about their side, I won't comment anything on the matter. If I would have worked with them, I would have been able to say something.

There were reports about you doing Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, so can we really witness Sanjeeda shaking her legs in the show?

I won't comment much on that. All I can say is that I have no idea about the same, but I would love to do it someday.

Finally, we have seen Aamir doing cameo in your shoe earlier, is there any chance of Aamir coming IKRS as well?

I would love to work with him again, but I will not at all allow him to do any more cameo roles, not even in my shows. Having said that, I would like to add that I won't mind if he comes to IKRS for some dance performance. I would love to match steps with him.
