Bathing is necessary for hygiene to clean off dirt, oils, dust and combat sweat related odors. If you have spent most of your time indoors in a cool temperature and humidity controlled environment, then you do not need to bathe on a regular basis. You need to bathe only if you have been exposed to elements that accumulate dirt, dust, germs or have sweated profusely for any reason.
You can conserve water by not bathing unless necessary. Same thing goes with clothes. Only undergarments need to be washed after one use. Most clothes can be work at least 2-3 times without need to wash, unless you sweat profusely. In very cool fall or spring weathers you can wear clothes 5 or more times before washing.

Seriously, it is not gross or unhygienic. It is environmentally friendly, plus saves time and money. You can spray your closet regularly with anti-bacterial odor neutralizing spray.

Also use common sense. Know your body, it sweat and its odors and wash accordingly. Being environmentally conscious does not mean you should be a gross unwashed smelly hippy with sweat stained clothes.

It's also better for your skin to not bathe every day. Bathing strips the body of its necessary natural oils just like how you should not be washing your hair everyday. So if SRK doesn't shower on the days he stays indoors then that is perfectly okay. If he doesn't shower on some days he goes out and can still smell like a meadow of daisies then lucky guy, I am jealous.
