This post is entirely dedicated to Dev.
The CV's surprised the audience again. They did not continue from the hug scene yet they started with a fresh one and again they made it simple yet graceful. The episode was all about Dev, his feelings, his yearning and his urgency.
The first scene inside the car when Sonakshi was going out and the makers put Dev's expression of fear for a fleeting moment there. It was so relatable, the fear of losing of love. Then the relief washed over him when he got the confirmation. Their silent conversation on the moment of leaving for the night was so lovely and understandable.
Then the scene he was waiting for her SMS and just with a word he called back without any hesitation. That scene made me to remember about a certain night how a word H' from Sonakshi had brought him to her doorstep when he did even feeling for anything to her. I was smiling and literally thinking this time he would do the same. Then I remembered he came to her house because Sonakshi's cell phone was switched off. So, I guess this scene was more than enough to show Dev's yearning for Sonakshi.
The moment he had realized that he could have everything he wanted in life. However, it would take time. He has the right heart, taken the right actions, has the right passion and willingness to risk it all. He knew nothing would be wrong. He was confident about it and shut up that Garib ki Beti. There comes a time in your life when you have to choose to turn the page, write another book or simply close it. He simply closed the book named Mr. Gujral and Natasha. His feelings is so in right direction.
The moment he believed that love is not about losing or winning. It is just a few moments in time, followed by an eternity of situations to grow from. He laid out his heart to her. Want to quote Dev only here as no other words are coming in my head-
"I don't want to go away from you. I was alone, without you since 27 years. Now, I want to be with you 24x7. I always want you to be with me. Is it wrong?" Nope ! Never! You have got fair share of pain in your life now it is your turn to be happy.
"I know I am being selfish but I never wanted anything for me apart from you till date. I need you for myself." What brazen confession, wow! Because losing her means losing his will to live. His urgency was emitted so vividly and he did not try to suppress anything. Note that the physical closeness between them. Clearly, Dev is a man and he knew what he felt for Sonakshi. That urgency was oozing from Dev's every action.
Then again for knowing Sonakshi for life time, he seeks help from the person herself. When she said You know me' and he knew that is not enough. He wanted to feel that they know each other for life. Again want quote Dev himself here-
"I don't know anything about you. I want to know. I need to know everything about you. What you like or what you dislike. What are your fears? Which battle you fought alone and were defeated? With which memory you counted the stars all the night? When you tell the biggest lie in your life? What is that promise that you didn't want to be fulfilled yet that was fulfilled? Which promise you did not want to break though it had been broken? What are your dreams, your most beautiful, yearning dream? What is the thing that you got without any struggle? What is the thing that you want with your life but you did not get yet? When you laugh? To which you cry? What do you want to do? Why you want it to do? You address me only as Mr. Obhodro or there is any other name for me? There is any impossible person apart from me in your life? I want to know. I want to know you more than you want to know you yourself." With every question Dev's expression changed subtly with different emotions. Wow! Hat's off! That moment he realizes that happiness was never about getting a person. They are only a helpmate towards achieving one's life mission.
I thought after confession I would get some cheesy romance but here CV's did not falter the character Dev for a single second. What an execution. Even the song Iss tarahse.. Ishtarah...tu mujhme mujhse zyada hai...song was so appropriate. The last scene! Did he nudge her a little with his arm? So cute. This episode could not be better after the confession scene. Well played.
I want just one intense scene like this from Sonakshi's side. Just once! Because after she is in love, I have only seen her dancing /hypervallenting /smiling/dreaming or crying. Please CV's one intense scene from her side.
Off topic: How can anyone looks so gorgeous while eating a carrot? The nutritionist surely rubbing off him.
