Chapter 19 - She Loves Me Not

Meher sat in a chair in one corner of her darkened room and glared at the phone lying on a small table nearby. Preet was calling her...again. It had been his phone call that had woken her up this morning and he had been calling her back repeatedly ever since.

Uff! She thought. Why is he calling me again and again? First, he gets Sam to trick me into going over to his house, then he lets me fall under the spell of his charming family. He's adamant he has something important to tell me...I'm in love with...I'm in love with who, damn it? Wait...let father make the big announcement...it's Ashlesha, of course! What does he want me to do, congratulate him? Send him flowers? Couldn't he see how hurt I was? I swear he can be the most infuriating person when he wants to be!

She reached out her hand and pressed a button on her phone, rejecting the call, and it grew silent. Just then, Sam walked into the room and pulled the curtains back. "Ow! Sam!" cried Meher as the morning sunlight hit her in the eyes. "What are you doing?"

"Letting the sunshine in. It's a beautiful day outside," smiled Sam. "Aur tum yahan depression ka shikar bani hui ho (And you are sitting here looking so depressed)."

"Depression? Me? I have no idea what you're talking about," said Meher.

"Okay," Sam shrugged her shoulders. "Then you must be unwell."

"No I'm not," said Meher.

"Why didn't you come down for breakfast then?" asked Sam.

"I don't know, I guess I just wasn't hungry," sighed Meher.

"Come on Meher, I know you're still upset about yesterday," Sam said, as she sat on the window sill. "I don't blame you. If I was in your place, I would have punched Preet's lights out. In fact, I may still do so. He used me to get you to his place. And like a fool I thought it was because he wanted to tell you he loved you. I'm sorry Meher. I'm really sorry that I ever listened to him."

"It's okay Sam," sighed Meher. "You know I can never stay mad at you for very long. I don't know what's wrong with me. I knew this was going to happen. Papa Ji and Kuljeet told me he was going to marry Ashlesha. I just didn't want to believe it." She thought of how Preet had gently taken her hands in his and looked at her. "But for a minute, when we were alone, I actually thought he..." She shook her head. "Nevermind. I've been such a fool."

Just then the phone rang again. Sam picked it up and looked at the name of the caller. "It's Preet," she frowned.

"I know," sighed Meher. "He's been calling me all morning. I wish he would just leave me alone."

"Why don't you just turn it off?" asked Sam.

"I would, but what if Kuljeet or Papa Ji called? Kuljeet would ask a thousand questions and Papa Ji would just worry," explained Meher.

"Okay well...just forget about him then," said Sam. "I'm not going to let you sit here and mope around. We're going to go out and enjoy the beautiful day." She smiled and turned to look outside. Suddenly her smile disappeared. "Oh my God, Meher you have to see this."

"What?" Meher asked, as she joined Sam at the window. She looked down and saw someone standing in the yard below. "Oh no...Preet! What is he doing here?"

Just then the phone rang again. Sam picked it up and answered it.

"Finally, you answered the phone Meher," sighed Preet.

"It's Sam. What do you want Preet?" asked Sam.

"Sam. Hi. I'm out in your yard," said Preet.

"I know," replied Sam. "We can see you."

Preet looked up and saw Sam in one of the windows on the upper level of the house. He could see Meher peaking out from behind her shoulder. He smiled and waved his hand at her, but she only shied away.

"Sam, please put Meher on," said Preet. "I've been trying to reach her all morning but she hasn't been answering. Is she alright?"

Sam looked back at Meher, but her friend only shook her head. "Oh she's alright. She just doesn't want to talk to you. Now get out of my yard before I send someone to throw you out."

"No wait...Sam...please just hear me out," Preet pleaded, but Sam had already hung up on him.

A short while later...

When Preet refused to leave the premises, Sam had the male house servant escort him out.

"Was that really necessary?" winced Meher, as she watched the burly man grab Preet by the collar and force him off the property and outside the main gate.

"He didn't leave me any choice, did he?" sighed Sam. "Now come on, you and I are going to spend the entire day together, and we'll start by going shopping."

"But I don't have to buy anything," said Meher.

"Then we'll window shop," smiled Sam. "And then we'll pig out at the food court. I'm going to lighten up that mood of yours even if it kills me."

She took Meher by the hand and dragged her out of her room. Downstairs, the girls ran into Mrs. Singh.

"Sam, who was that young man outside in the yard just now?" she asked.

"Young man...heh heh...what young man?" asked Sam. She peeked outside a window, and saw the gardener watering the plants. "Oh you mean Mali Kaka, come on Ma, he's been working for us for almost a year now."

Mrs. Singh looked out the window. Sure enough only the gardener was in the yard. "Don't get smart with me Simran, I may be getting older, but I'm not blind. I could swear there was a young man there just a little while ago. What's going on?"

Meher threw a worried glance at Sam and gave a slight shake of her head.

"Uh...I have no idea what you're talking about Ma," lied Sam.

"But...," tried Mrs. Singh.

"Sorry Ma, Meher and I have to be some place," Sam said, as she and Meher rushed past her mother. "We're...uh...going to eat outside so don't hold lunch for us."

Once outside, the girls exhaled in relief.

"I'm sorry Sam," sighed Meher. "I'm sorry you had to lie to your mom on my account. I just can't have her finding out about Preet. What if she tells Kuljeet?"

"It's okay, it's Preet's fault, not yours," frowned Sam. "I have a good mind to go out there and tell him off."

"Never mind that," said Meher. "How are we supposed to go out? What if he's standing outside the gate?"

"Then we'll just have to go out the back way," said Sam.

"Yes, but what about Preet?" asked Meher.

"Let him stand outside," Sam shrugged her shoulders. "He'll either get bored of waiting or get hungry and leave. Now come on, let's go."

Later that day...

Meher stood by the window in her room and frowned. Preet was outside again. When she and Sam had returned from the mall she had been relieved to find him gone, but her sense of relief had been short lived. Preet had not only positioned himself outside the main gate of Sam's house, this time he also had a large handwritten sign with him. He stood up on the bonnet of his car and held it up for her to see. On one side it read I'm sorry'. He flipped it over and the other side read Please talk to me'.

Meher pulled the curtains of her windows shut and stormed off.

The next day...

Sam knocked on Meher's door. "Tonight is the big night," she smiled. "I finally get to meet the in-laws. I'm so nervous."

Meher didn't respond.

Sam walked up to her friend and looked outside. "I don't believe this. He's still out there," she said. "Well, he's persistent. I'll give him that."

"More like stubborn," grumbled Meher. She turned to face her friend. "Did you need something?"

"Yeah...um...I was heading to the kitchen to start preparations for tonight. You know the last time I tried to cook by myself, the fire alarm went off and we wound up going out for dinner," grinned Sam. "I think I can manage some of the dishes using mom's recipes, but dessert isn't really my forte. I was hoping you'd come and help." She looked back out at Preet. "But first, we have to do something about him Meher. Dad will be back tonight. My future in-laws are coming over for the first time too. I can dodge Ma's questions for a little while longer, but what will I say to Gaurav's parents? I don't want anything to go wrong."

"Nothing will go wrong," Meher assured Sam, as she headed out the door. Mrs. Singh met her at the bottom of the steps.

"Hai Meher puttar, look at this boy," she sighed. "I think he's been standing outside since yesterday. He looks like the same boy that you were speaking to in the market the other day. Do you know him? Is there a problem? Shall I call Sam's father? Do we need to call the police?"

"No, Auntie Ji," Meher gave the older lady a weak smile. "I know who it is. Don't worry about a thing. I'll go and get rid of him. I mean...I'll find out what he wants."

Meher hurried outside before Sam's mother could ask any more questions.

Preet was standing on the hood of his car, his eyes fixed on Meher's window. She was there just a minute ago. I wonder where she went, he thought. Just then he spotted her crossing the yard and coming towards him. He quickly jumped down from his car and hurried towards the gate.

"Hi!" he smiled as Meher opened the gate. "You finally came out."

"What is wrong with you? Why are you here?" Meher fired one question at him after another. "Sam's mother has no idea who you are. She's been asking so many questions. She was actually contemplating calling the police. Do you want to be arrested for trespassing? Are you trying to create a scene?"

"I'm not trespassing Meher, I happen to be parked on a public road," Preet pointed out. "As for Sam's mother, I'm sure if she found out who I was she'd invite me in for a cup of tea?"

"You know, Gaurav's parents are coming over tonight," said Meher. "Sam is nervous enough as it is about meeting her future in-laws, without you adding to her worries."

"Uncle and Auntie Sherma are coming? They'll surely ask me to stay for dinner," chuckled Preet. "Speaking of which, I'm starved. I've been standing out here since yesterday. I didn't even go anywhere to get a bite to eat, because I was afraid I'd miss you if you came out. What did you cook?"

"I give up!" Meher threw her hands in the air. "You want to stand out here like an idiot go ahead and do so."

She turned to leave, but Preet grabbed her by the wrist and stopped her. "Meher wait, please give me a chance to explain what happened the other day at my house."

Meher jerked her hand out of his grip. "I already told you, you don't owe me any explanations Preet. It's none of my business." She turned to go again.

"Meher, I love you!" Preet blurted out.

Meher stopped in her tracks. "You what?" She turned and stared at him disbelief.

"I love you," smiled Preet. He ran his hand through his hair. "I didn't plan on telling you like this...standing in the middle of a road, but it's true just the same. I'm in love with you." Preet watched Meher grow quiet. She chewed on her lower lip nervously. "Aren't you going to say anything?" he asked.

"Why?" asked Meher.

"What?" said Preet

"Why? Why me Preet?" It's not like I'm some stunning creature with a line of men outside my door fighting each other for my attention," said Meher.

"Don't do that Meher, don't put yourself down," Preet said mildly. "I've told you before, you're a beautiful girl, and more importantly, you have a beautiful soul. I don't know how or why or when it happened, but I started caring for you. I feel..."

"Sorry for me...yes...I know," said Meher.

"Sorry?" said Preet.

"Yes, that's why you would call me Cinderella...because you saw how Kuljeet treated me, isn't it?" said Meher.

"No...Meher I love you," said Preet.

"I don't believe you," said Meher.

"You don't believe me?" frowned Preet.

"No, I don't," Meher said flatly.

"No?!" Preet said in disbelief.

"Did I stutter?" asked Meher.

"But it's true Meher, I really do love you," insisted Preet.

"Really? Well, you sure have a funny way of showing it Preet Juneja," said Meher. "You're getting married to someone else."

"I'm not! I mean, I never agreed to that!" cried Preet. "It was all my father's doing. I had no idea about any of it until he made the announcement. Dharti Ma ki kasam. Gaurav told me you were under the impression something was going on between Ash and me. Nothing could be farther from the truth. All this time, I thought you were behaving coldly with me because you were jealous."

"Jealous?!" cried Meher. "You're delusional."

"Am I?" asked Preet. He took a step closer to Meher and looked her in the eyes.

Meher took a step backward. "I...I'm...I don't know what you're talking about," she stammered. "And even if it were true, it doesn't change anything between us."

"Of course it does," said Preet. He gently took Meher's hands in his. "I love you Meher, not Ash. It's you I see a future with, not her. It's always been you. Surely you must have had some idea of how I felt."

"I...I...Does your father know you're here?" Meher asked.

"He knows how I feel," said Preet.

"But does he know you are here?" Meher asked again as she pulled her hands back.

"No," Preet said hesitantly. "He has some issues...about you...about us...but I don't care what he thinks."

"But I do Preet," said Meher. "I do care what your father thinks. I care what Sam's mother is standing inside thinking right now about you staking out her house. God forbid she says something to my parents, because I very much care about what they will think. Go home Preet."

"Go home?" said Preet.

"Yes," said Meher. "I already told you, Sam's in-laws are coming over tonight. I don't want you to ruin her evening."

"If you want me to leave you alone, all you have to do is say so Meher," said Preet.

"Fine, then...go...and...don't come back," said Meher. "I mean...I...uh...I want you to leave me alone."

"You don't sound very convincing," said Preet. "Look me in the eyes and tell me you don't love me." He tried to take her hands in his again, but to his surprise she pushed him back.

"Stop doing that!" cried Meher. She looked back towards the house. "Someone will see us."

"But Meher, I just want...," tried Preet.

"I don't care what you want Preet Juneja!" Meher cut him off. "Stop coming around here! Stop toying with my feelings! I don't see a future with you! I don't care if I never see you again, because quite frankly...I don't love you!" She turned and quickly locked the gate, then headed back towards the house.

"You're lying Meher!" Preet called out after her. "I'm not leaving you hear me? I love you, and I'm not going anywhere until you come back here and tell me you feel the same way! Meher! Come back here!"

Meher quickened her pace, and ran inside the house shutting the door behind her. Sam was waiting for her, but before she could say anything, Meher ran past her and up to her room.

Sam followed her friend upstairs. "Are you alright?" She asked as she entered the room and found Meher sitting on the bed. "You look pale."

Meher looked up at her with teary eyes.

"Oh dear," sighed Sam. "I take it things didn't go so well with Preet."

Meher shook her head.

"Well, what did he say?" asked Sam.

"He...he told me he loved me," said Meher.

"He did?" said Sam. "Well it's about time. And what did you say?"

"I told him to go away. I told him I never wanted to see him again," sobbed Meher. She let her face fall into her hands. "I told him I didn't love him."

"What? Why did you do that?" asked Sam.

Meher looked up at Sam.

"Let me guess...his marriage to Ash," sighed Sam. "Did he have an explanation for that drama?"

"He claims his father arranged that, and he didn't know anything about it," said Meher.

"Do you believe him?" asked Sam.

"I don't know!" cried Meher. "I don't know what to believe anymore. I mean, how can it possibly be true? I knew about it. My parents knew about it. Even Ashlesha knew all about it. How can his family fix his marriage and he not know anything about it? He has such a strong independent spirit, and he doesn't get along well with his father. Why then would Mr. Juneja arrange his marriage knowing full well that it wouldn't take place unless Preet wished for it to? Why would the rest of his family be in on it? Why would his Prem Bhaiya and Heer Bhabi be in on it? Ashlesha was at Preet's house with her mother. Her father was supposed to be coming too. Mr. Rampal is such a busy man, but he never misses anything important related to his daughter, so why would he be coming if this marriage wasn't happening?"

"All very logical arguments, so why the conflicted look on your face?" asked Sam.

"Because...there was so much earnestness in his eyes when he told he love me," sighed Meher. "I mean why...why in God's name would Preet lie to me about this or anything else? I don't know...I shouldn't let my feelings get in the way. I have to look at this objectively. I was hoping Preet was in love with me, because of how I feel about him, but wishing things were a certain way doesn't mean they are."

"But Meher, why would Preet tell you he loved you if he didn't?" asked Sam. "He even shared this fact with Gaurav. It just doesn't make sense."

"I don't know, and in the end it doesn't matter," sighed Meher. "Because his family wants Ashlesha...not me. I don't blame them. Ashlesha is a Rampal. Their equal in every way. Me...I'm just little old Meher."

"But what about what Preet wants?" asked Sam.

"Preet and I were friends Sam," sighed Meher. She walked over to the window and looked outside. "We shared some nice conversations. We even shared a connection because we both lost our mothers at a young age. He saw how I suffered at Kuljeet's hands. My only guess is he felt sorry for me, and confused his growing sympathies for affection. You know me Sam. I never have any expectations about anything. It's better that way. You don't get disappointed. You don't get hurt. But with Preet, I let myself fall."

Sam joined Meher at the window and saw that Preet was still outside. He was pacing in front of the main gate, then stopped to kick his car's tire several times. "He's still outside," she said.

Meher looked at the gray clouds gathering above. "If he doesn't leave soon," she sighed. "Mother Nature will cool him down. Come on, let's go make that dessert."

Later...

Meher peaked outside from behind her window curtains. It was raining, night had fallen and Preet was still there. He's been standing there for hours. Why was he doing this? she thought. She had never seen him behave like this before. Why was he standing in the rain? Why didn't he get in his car? What if he became sick? Uff! Why did he have to be so stubborn?

Meanwhile...

Preet stood his ground in the hammering rain, trying to ignore the fact that he was getting drenched. He shivered and hid his hands in his pant pockets. His eyes were fixed on Meher's window. He had spotted movement there every now and then. He knew she was watching him. Why would she be checking outside to see him if she didn't care about him? Why was she lying to him?! How could she not believe that he was sincere in his love for her? And how dare she say she wasn't in love with him! He wasn't going anywhere! He'd show her just how stubborn he could be! He was going to wait right here until she came out!

Another hour passed, when a car pulled up to the main gate and came to a stop parallel to his car.

"Preet?!" said Gaurav, as he got out of the car. He tried to shield his face from the rain with his hands and walked up to his friend. "What the hell are you doing here standing in the rain?"

Preet didn't answer immediately.

Gaurav followed Preet's gaze, it was fixed on one of the windows on the upper level of Sam's house. "Preet?" said Gaurav. He saw that Preet was shivering and placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Sh...she said...she didn't...but...I...I...know...sh...she's lying," stammered Preet.

"Who's lying?" asked Gaurav.

"Meher...," Preet whispered, before collapsing in his friend's arms.

A short while later...

Gaurav walked into the Juneja mansion with Preet leaning heavily on his shoulder. "Koi hai (Is anybody there)?" he called out.

Heer and Prem were on their way upstairs to retire for the evening when they heard his cry for help. Both came down in a hurry. Prem quickly swung Preet's other arm around his shoulders and held him firmly around the waist.

"Preet!" cried Heer. "Oh my God! Gaurav what happened to him? Is he alright? Why is he all wet?"

"I'll fill you in on everything Heer Bhabi, but first, I think we should get him to his room," said Gaurav.

Prem and Gaurav carried Preet upstairs to his room. Heer waited patiently outside until they changed him from his wet clothes into dry ones. As soon Gaurav opened the door, she rushed in. Prem was tucking the quilt under Preet's chin. Heer came and sat on the other side of the bed and looked him over with great concern.

"He's shivering!" she cried. She placed a hand on his forehead. "And he's running up a fever!"

"I'll call the doctor," said Prem. He pulled out his phone and immediately called the family doctor. When he was done with the call he turned to face Gaurav. "Dr. D'Souza said he'll be here shortly. I haven't seen Preet since yesterday morning. What the hell happened?"

"You mean he was standing there for almost 2 days?" mumbled Gaurav.

"Standing where?" asked Heer.

"I found him standing outside the gate at Sam's house," explained Gaurav.

"What would he be doing there?" asked Heer. "And that too for 2 days?"

"Meher is staying there," said Gaurav.

"Well that explains things," sighed Prem. He passed his hand over his face. "I told him to go talk to her."

"You mean to say, Meher let him stand outside in the rain and get sick! This is insane!" Heer said, getting angry. "Why on earth would she be so mean with him?"

"That's exactly what I intend to find out," Gaurav said, through gritted teeth, as he headed out the door.

Woohoo very eventful update Fatima.

Loved everything. So real like.

Y'know just when I read Preet standing outside for nearly 2days calculating by Meher and Sam's convo I did wonder what his family doing all this time. Doesn't anyone womder of he doesn't turn up for dinner time 😕 None of them called to figure this out huh.

I'm glad finally Preet confessed but sadly didn't convince Meher. It's work in progress I'd say.
Sam was a good friend and tried to cheer up Meher.
Oooh Gaurav also came with his parents 😲 I didn't expect thsi.😆 Well that's a twist in this scene. Glad he was there to tc of Preet. Btw even Gaurav didn't search Preet for 2 days huh!😲
May be he was lost in Sam and dreaming.about her.😆

Now after all the tucking in bed part, Gaurav rushes out to meet Meher hmm so he's gona blast her treating Preet very badly huh.

So Meher will find out.

Looking forward to see what happens to Preet. If any drama happens at his place ? If his father will create anything. Sam may or may not be in high end neighborhood but the Junejas are popular and people recognizes his face. How come Bauji didn't get any news yet?😆 If not him then mean Maya or weird Harman 🥱 I'm guessing the next scene is a confrontation between Meher and Gaurav. Then may be there is scene in Junejas' house.

Convos and dialogues are super duper. Greta job. 👏 It was thrilling to read beginning to end.

😳 May be our fav Chahat will peak in to see her fav Chachu shivering with favor cheer him up or pray for him.?!

I'm also guessing Meher will visit the Junejas cz she will be worried now.🥳

Ooo...good guesses all around Athisda 👏

Okay...so the Junejas live in a huge house and not everyone is around at the same time to see everyone's faces. The family is used to having Preet being aloof and not showing up for dinner or meals...remember the intro chapters. Plus the guy is 26 years old...not exactly a kid that you'd question his every move.

And then there is the tension of the family business and Veera's wedding that everyone is so busy with. Lalit is usually the last one to ask about Preet. Maya could care less about him too, and Herman...well...he's Herman. 🤔

Gaurav was busy doing his own thing...he's getting settled into his father's business...which will be mentioned later...so he didn't exactly know what Preet was doing...but he was there when it mattered.

Will he blast Meher? Let's see. 😳

Will Chahat show up again?...Yes 😆...real soon.

Thanks for reading and leaving the feedback...it really means a lot. 🤗

Fatima we know mean Maya won't care but I meant - it's a gossip that if she knew she'd make sure to update Bauji to create trouble.
I know Harman is not heartless but he's weirdo so wondered if he found out. Bauji sure doesn't care but again the gossip -about his family member he'd bring the roof down 😆 who knows he may still do that 😆

Ok I get it's a big house and Preet is old - if he stayed out then I can understand his bhabhi not thinking about him. But in same house she would notice I thought considering the way she treats him.

Woohoo Chahat making a come back 🥳 let's see what she does. Hmm

Hi Fatima,

I am back!!! Sorry yaar joh date bola tha usse jyaada late hogaya actually I started with my new job just after my exams got over and because of that was all busy.

But I have read all the chapters now and I am telling you I just love this story. Your stories always have a filmy tadka but very believable. I mean they are very real twists when we read it. I also have to say this you are brilliant yaar. You are writting all your stories on one couple but each and every story is different. Each and everytime when I read MEET scenes they give the same level of satisfaction as they did for the first time. You know what with your style of writing even a non MEET lover will start loving them plus the way you write preet is awesome.

Now coming back to this story. The story have progressed really well with all the shocking revelations. Look being a MEET lover obviously I am feeling bad that they are going through tough times and I am really angry on meher because of the last chapter. Preet was standing without eating anything for two days and still meher is doubting him. Look at one end I do understand meher but poor preet what is he suppose to do and where does he go. You know that kahavat na ghar ka na ghaat ka, preet is exactly in that situation neither is his bauji understanding and nor meher. My heart really goes out to him. But again I have to compliment you on keeping this love confession so diff from the other stories. I hope preet get well soon and meher also understand him and together they find some way put of this mess. I know gaurav is gonna take a class of Meher because he cares too much for preet and to be honest I am waiting for that confrontation.

Now coming to Mr.Lalit Juneja, what exactly this man is made up off, he is ready to get his son married to his rival's daughter against his love just to save his business. Did anyone taught him that he is actually his father and preet is his real son. You I understand till the time he had a misunderstanding but when preet is telling them the truth then insulting meher for her status and then asking preet to marry ash was just not done. I understand that they are going through tough time and are in desperate need but just for money if someone ask him to kill preet will he do that also and if preet does not agree to marry ash then name him as a selfish member of the family who does not care about them.

And lastly what is ash trying to do. I am still unclear as to how did she fell in love with preet all of a sudden. I mean when did that happen. They used to fight always and ash knew that preet is his dad rival's son then how did this love came to her. And she is just not in love she is an obsessive person who just wants preet inspite of him saying that he does not love him. God she just keep on saying that preet loves him even after hearing the truth from preet's mouth directly. In all this I found rishabh rampal to be a little more sensible when he tried to explain his daughter the reality but what can a man do in front of his stubborn wife and only daughter. And now that daljeet have planned to harm the Juneja's more in business which means more pressure on preet. Now I am really worried as well as excited to see how the story unfolds from here. I mean how does preet and Meher become one after fighting for their live and what does preet do to save his family.

Looking forward for the story so update soon.

Hi Bhagyashree...you have been missed 🤗

Hope your exams went well...and best of luck for the new job 👍🏼

Oh wow! Such wonderful comments! Yes I'm filmy 😆...but as you said, I do try to keep the facts in my stories as real as possible. I love Meet...and try to do justice to both characters...but yes...I admit I can be bit lopsided in favor of Preet......I just find it easier writing for him. 😆

@bold: You've pretty much summed up his situation here.

I try to keep each story different from the other...otherwise, what's the point of the reader putting in their time to read. Of course things that are part of the Meet's character or their likes and dislkes in the show...stay the same..like Preet's favorite sabzi is gobi.

There are something that I like to keep the same...like Meher smelling like lilacs...or Gaurav being Preet's best friend...those are my personal touches that remain constant and have become signatures of my stories.

Now coming to Mr.Lalit Juneja, what exactly this man is made up off, he is ready to get his son married to his rival's daughter against his love just to save his business. Lalit is being both desperate and selfish...his life has taken a downhill turn ever since his wife died...he's made terrible decisions...and too arrogant to admit it...and is looking for Preet to step in and save the day. He's not close to his youngest son...so he doesn't realize that Preet has fallen in love very deeply...and since he's used to his children complying with his wishes...he's taken aback and frustrated with Preet's refusal to bend.

And lastly what is ash trying to do. I am still unclear as to how did she fell in love with preet all of a sudden. I mean when did that happen. Ah...so many questions you raised about Ash and what will happen next...the story is a work in progress so I don't know the answers myself...to quote a line Sushant used in Detective Byomkesh Bakshi..."Iss duniya mein aise hi kuch nahi hota"...so let's see what happens next 😆

Thanks again for reading and taking the time out to comment. 🤗
