PART 6

Ishita - I didn't knew about Shagun.

He stood up and went near railing.

Raman - After college both me and shagun decided to settle down. There was no objection from our parent's side and we got married. 6 months later shagun got news of her pregnancy. Soon Ruhi was born and she filled my life with happiness. But god had planned something else for me. My happiness was short lived when Ruhi was just 3 months she met with an accident and died on spot. My whole world crashed that day.

Ishita could not control her tears seeing him in pain - I m sorry Raman. I was not with you.

Raman - Hmm . You were not there. Because you left college without telling me once and didnt even tried to contact back. Maine kitna dhoonda tumhe.

Ishita - Ghar badal liya tha

Raman - Rishte bhi badal liye the. Tell me Ishita tumhe meri yaad nahi aayi.

Ishita ( st) - Yaad toh unki aati hai jinhe hum khabhi bhool paye ho

Raman - Say Ishita .

Ishita - I m sorry Raman Circumstances were not in my favor. Appa passed away, my amma needed me. So we shifted to Chennai. I m really sorry

She spoke crying.

Raman wiped her tears - You have become full girl. Dusro ko rulane wali khud ro rahi hai.

Ishita smiled with tears - Why didn't you marry again.

Raman - Ishita hum ek baar jete hai. Ek baar marte hai. Shaadi bhi ek baar hoti aur pyaar bhi

Ishita - Ek hi baar hota hai.

Raman - Meri chod. Tell me about you. Koi duffer tujh mein interested hai.

Ishita - Woh actually abh...

Next moment door opened and they saw watchman entering with torch.

Watching - Sorry sahab Pata nahi kisne lock kar diya

Ishita - Its okay

They both moved down when raman invited her for dinner. She was about to refuse when Ruhi came from behind.

Ruhi - Aunty you promised. I will not talk to you.

Raman - Ishita came na. She won't leave you this easily.

Ishita smiled and lifted ruhi in her arms - Ok boss. Chalo But what about food which I have in my home.

Ruhi - Aunty we can share that. Sharing is caring. Haina papa.

Raman - Off course beta.

Ishita - Okay you take her. I m coming in few minutes.

Soon four of them were sitting on table.

Ruhi - Aunty what you cooked.

Ishita - Paisam and Idli Sambhar

Raman was drinking water when he choked hearing sambhar - Tumne sambhar banaya.

Ishita looked at him narrowing her brows - Toh

Ruhi - Papa aunty makes delicious sambhar.

Raman - And when you ate sambhaar made by her.

Ruhi - I went to her house and she fed me with her hands. Aunty will you feed me today also.

Ishita - Why not. Came.

Ruhi sat on her lap and Ishita was feeding her.

Toshiji - Ruhi also have this dal and meethi aloo. It's very nutritious.

Raman - Maa you know she won't eat.

Ishita signaled toshiji to keep it in her plate. She involved ruhi in talk and was telling her a story in-between feeding her dal and aloo meethi. Ruhi was so engrossed in her story that she ate whatever Ishita was putting in her mouth.

Raman was surprised seeing this while toshiji was highly impressed by her love and warm nature with kids.
Ruhi Ishita completed their dinner, along with Raman and toshiji who equally enjoyed her story. Ishita gave a good night kiss to Ruhi and left to her house. Same night Ruhi was very happy, she kept on talking about ishita and slept cuddling Raman.

Next day Ishita was extra joyous today. She was making coffee for herself humming a song when she heard a knock on her door. Expecting it to be Ruhi she opened the door.

Ishita - Ruhi. Tumhe hi yaad kar... She stopped in middle - Oh Raman

Raman - Ruhi nahi uske papa

Ishita - Sorry. I thought its Ruhi

Raman - Should I go then

He turned to go.

Ishita - Arre nahi. Wait . I didnt mean that. Come in

Raman smiled and went in and settled himself on sofa.

Raman - Ishita yeh ghar

Ishita - Shruti ka hai . You remember she was in my class. I didnt wanted to stay in hotel so decided to rent her house for few days.

Raman - Oh. Good

Ishita - Subah subah yahan. Koi kaam tha

Raman - Kyun cant I come to meet my friend.

Ishita - Off course you can.

Raman - You are right. I wanted to have coffee. Maa with ruhi went to her friend as she was leaving for london and they left me with a note that Neelu is on off today. So thought of having coffee and breakfast with you.

Ishita - Great. Batao. What will you have.

Raman - You are asking as if I have hundred of options with me. Gin do cheeze banani aati hai.

Ishita - Raman dont challenge me. I have learned cooking. You just tell me what you wanna have.

Raman - Acha .. Wait
After thinking for some minute he spoke aloo ka parathe.

Ishita - Aloo ka paratha. Okay. Done. You wait. I just come with it.

Raman - What will I do sitting here. Main bhi aata hoon. It will have one more benefit. I can see what all you add in it.

Ishita - Your wish. And if you are coming then make coffee for us. Because I dont want you to get bored.

She smiled mischievously and moved towards kitchen.

Raman - You haven't changed.

Soon Ishita was kneading dough while Raman was searching for pan.

Raman - Ishita pan kahan hai.

Ishita - Raman its there only.
Her both hands were covered with dough.

Raman - Nahi hai . You see yourself.

She left her work in middle and stood behind him.

Ishita - Open this

He opened and moved few vessels and found pan on extreme left.

Raman - Pan hai jewellery nahi. You have kept as if someone will steal this.

Ishita made a face and continued her work.

She was stuffing her parathe when he spoke again.

Raman - Not bad . Tum toh seekh gayi.

Ishita - Hmm. After appa death, maa was not in situation to handle our home, so I had to take the responsibility.

She spoke with teary eyes.

Raman side hugged her - I m proud of you. I had no doubts on you handling such things but its just that your madness and zero brain stopped me always.

He tried to lighten the atmosphere while she looked at him with open mouth.

Ishita - Zero brain and madness. Abhi batati hoon. She added some more chili powder in his parathe - Now you will see how mad I am.

Raman - Oyye bas . Pagal hai. I won't eat this.

Ishita - You have no other option.

She smiled and continued her work. Soon they had they had there breakfast again like before.

It's not that the awkwardness was gone all of sudden, it's just that they had removed the coat of coarseness from their friendship, which came in between due to distances.
