"on the threshold he stands...
wishing he cud gv words to the strange feeling"
ystrdy was a beautiful episode in the sense that i felt a kind of melancholy all over...dev is now on the threshold of knowing and not knowing...since the fake bf track of sona dev has been in a seesaw of moods...first he was upset that sona did not share her love story with him...then he explicitly did not like the twosome tog added by the fact that he felt something wrong btwn them...then he embarked on the mission of finding the truth till he got to the bottom that sona is still single...
the happiness that followed even he cud not deny as it was so evident that his younger sisters teased him about it...however wen they attributed that happiness to natasha his eyes dimmed and the smile vanished...
and the next day tentatively but surely he stated that he never thot that he wud need anyone in his life but...and the look that he gave her said everything...
ystrdy's epi started with dev in a fresh and happy mood as nats asked him about sona and neel's love life he said they hv broken up very clearly he had no intention to admit to nats that she had lied all along...the humming of bengali tune and glow on his face at the mention of sona were clearly indications that his heart is elsewhere although he was physically with natasha...
and then the bombshell...mr. gujral insisting dev to get engaged with nats on saturday...dev was stunned and also almost grief-stricken...needless to say that couple of second expression was brilliant...
this is not wat he wants...somehow he felt everything is going out of hands...his happiness, his life, his smile, his dream...and his love...
he was not yet sure wat is stopping him from saying yes...after all nats is a nice girl and they share the same status and hv the same business background...as he ensured "ye saturday...do din baad wala saturday" he almost prayed he has heard wrong...
dev believes that heart is just an organ and it cannot hv any feelings but today his turmoil cud be seen clearly in his eyes as mr gujral asked him whether he likes nats...
he cud hear a different song from within himself and clearly that song did not carry natasha's name but then heart cant speak rite...so he is in a confused state as he rolled the tennis ball from one hand to the other...
clearly sleep was not in his agenda tonite as he picked up the bottle of sleeping pills...but he cud not take them as he remembers sona telling him not to...so he calls her and disconnects immediately not wanting to intrude in her personal time...
but sona understand his need to talk to her now calls him back and as he starts to apologize for calling she understands that he called because he needs her...there was a kind of pleading i heard in his voice wen he requested her to grant him permission to take the pill for just this night...
was he truly just asking permission for the pills...he may deny that heart has voice but sona cud hear his heartbeat which was speaking a different language which had got nothing to do with the pills...he needed to hear her voice and he needed the assurance that sona is just a call away...as she said he shud not hide anything from a doc and he insisted not from a friend too...for him she is just a frnd...but is it so...till he learns to call love a love he wont know that she is much more than a friend to him...his expression with a hint of smile wen he called her a frnd depicted the unsaid words...
and her smile...
sleep is faraway...
the scene with ishwari was equally brilliant...dev's fear was evident on his face...his mother who been his lifeline all his life today has washed her hands from natasha issue...the burden of taking the major decision of his life remains solely on his shoulders and he is stuck between the yet unrecognizable feelings within him and the business deal that he has been craving for so long now knowing very well that mr. gujral wont do the deal unless he agrees to get engaged to his daughter...the fear of losing something he yet not knows wat was clear on his face and hoping his mom wud help him out...
as mami started singing virtues of natasha...ishwari cud clearly see the dilemma in dev's eyes as she kept luking at him and dev not wanting to meet her eyes for fear wat she mite see in them...
i loved the ring scene...for one the bg music was brilliant...from the moment dev gv the ring to sona and the ring fell and he picked it up and called ms. bose and took her hand...the music carried a melancholic tune...but the moment he put the ring in her finger till the last frame of sona's surprised expression the music changed to a romantic tune...brilliant...
both were xtremely gud in that scene...there was a luk of indifference in dev's face but at the same time there was no hesitation in him as he put the ring on her finger...he may pretend not to notice wat he has just done but he is yet to fathom that he was only following his heart's instructions...and so he even paused for a second to see how the rings looks on her...
sona's look of surprise with wet eyes said it all...it was unexpected and yet it was a moment she wud cherish forever...if she loses her first love this moment will remain with her for the rest of her life...
