Happiness, sadness, insecurity, confusion & most importantly the unknown feeling! This is what we got to see in yesterday's episode. It was one complete perfect package.
"Bengali song? Tho pir aapko kaise aata hai??", quizzed Natasha.
Realizations have begun it's descent on Dev. Him humming a tune, not just any tune but a Bengali one, not only brought a smile on Natasha's face but a surprised smirk on Dev's face as well. Dev babu when are you going to realize that you've been thinking about Sona subconsciously. Anyways, good that you've started practicing, so that you can woo your Sona soon.
"Tho kaise chal raha hai Dr. Bose aur Neel Lakotia ki love story?", Natasha quizzed again.
That expression on his face was so I-know-it all. What love story? Ms. Bose can't even lie properly...And I caught her red handed! (Eyes rolling) Am sure those were the things that were running in his head, when he told Natasha that they broke up. And then, he continued to say that rich boys don't respect girls enough!! Aww...Poor Neel! Well, you did lie too. Dev was such a gentleman that he didn't tell Natasha the real reason. He likes to keeps his secrets to himself.
Sona has definitely loosened up Dev a little bit. He's begun to accept his flaws. He told Natasha, "Ziddi hoon, short-tempered hoon, aur agar koi cheez pasand aajaye usko paane kaylea main kuch bhi kar sakta hoon!" Thank you Dev for this assurance. Now we know even in the long run, you'll do whatever is required, so that Sona is a part of your life. Loving this determination which he has for things that he definitely wants in his life. Wish he was able to comprehend that it's just Sona that could fill that unknown void.
Special thanks to Natasha for asking the right questions. Else, Dev babu wouldn't have pondered. Even though she's in between Dev & Sona's relationship, I love the fact how a third person is weaved into the plot to bring out a certain important good change in the male lead. That's when you truly begin to believe that there's a reason why a person has come into your life/path. He/She may not be a part of your life, but makes a small appearance just to bring out a major change in your life. (Mr. Gujral, Neel, Ranveer...all have contributed to a certain amount of change in Dev). I hope the CVs don't turn Natasha negative. But I have a feeling that Mr. Gujral will make it difficult for Dev. He literally shoved his proposal down Dev's throat. Natasha finds Dev as a perfect husband material, but that doesn't mean that Dev should find a good wife in Natasha. Well, this hasty decision is not going to be in favor of the Gujral's.
Restless due to the conversation he had with Mr. Gujral & something unknown to Dev is making him pace up and down. That's when he remembers that the sleeping pills will calm him down and he can shut his mind from functioning. But then he told Sona that he wouldn't take them anymore. He's so fidgety and anxious that he calls her up & realizes that it's too late and hangs up. But Sona returns his call and asks him if everything is fine. She probes him to tell his problems to her but he says he's not sleepy and he wants to take a sleeping pill. "Kya mein sleeping pill le sakta hoon, sirf aaj raat ke liye? Aap hi tho mana kiya tha na sleeping pill lene se, isliye aapse pooch raha hoon". This dialogue moved me so much that I had tears. That tone in which he asked for her permission, that sincerity, that promise he made unknowingly that he'll never take a sleeping tablet again was so moving. Dev is like a child! He's so pure and honest. He needs someone to guide him to the right path. Ishwari wanted him to take a decision on the proposal & deep down he knows he doesn't feel like accepting it but he's still not sure about what to do. And on the other side, we've Sona who's happy about the fact that Dev thought about her when something was bothering him & happy that she was able to help him. Poor girl didn't know her happiness was going to be short-lived.
"Aur thu Kya chahatha hai?", Ishwari asked Dev.
One second she was happy that the deal was getting finalized & the next she was disturbed that Gujral fixed their engagement. She's knows deep down that it's because of the deal that Dev hasn't been able to say NO but, he still could've said a NO, which he didn't. She is aware that Dev knows what's best for his work & maybe that's why he gave in. By rejecting Gujrals marriage proposal, she's scared and uncertain if it would ruin her son's effort that he taken to reach this far. And more importantly, she was scared to share her son with anyone else. We are definitely going to see a very insecure Ishwari.
"Mr. Dixit ka sagaee?" . Sona's world began to shatter & tumble around her the moment she heard about his engagement. Still unsure & unable to believe if what she heard was true. Erica's expression was so perfect & bang on.
"Beta Ma ki godh se uttar ja, kyuki shaadi ke baad pehla haq biwi ka hota hai" , said (brayed) Radha Rani. Ishwari's nightmare was beginning to take shape. She wholeheartedly doesn't want this engagement to happen & that dislike is clearly seen on her face. And Radha rani knows exactly what to say at the right time. She spits venom every time she talks.
The most heart wrenching part of the episode was the when Dev put the ring on Sona's finger. Her emotions & feelings are being played with. But it's her destiny. No one is doing it on purpose. It was her dream to fall in love which she did but it was not reciprocated. Dev putting a ring on her finger, is something that she would've cherished for the rest of her life, but just to check if the ring size is correct & if it would fit someone else?? Poor girl, can't imagine the emotions that would have swept over her that very moment. I know we can't blame Dev because he isn't thinking. It was just a normal reaction for him. He looked tired and already fed up of the whole engagement thing. Sona looked so pale that she was gonna faint then & there. Erica looked perfect. And Shaheer, what can I say about this show stealer..!! Am in awe of his acting.
Am so glad I'm watching this show. It feels real & practical & happy that sanity still does exist on Indian television.
