CHAPTER 9
"Some song...that will create the mood..." suggested Asmitha. "Yeah..." said Sid as he switched on the music system. "Nothing to chill bro?" asked Akhi. Sid nodded with a smile knowing what he meant. Roli too understood what his intension was, that really spoiled her mood. She was no way happy to be a part of a cocktail party. If she had known that this would happen, she'd never have come. She went near Siddhant who was moving inside. Asmitha was busy dancing and didn't notice the duo. "Siddhant...just a minute..." she said. "Okay...tell me girl..." said Sid. "Woh...Siddhant...see...I'm feeling headache...so what I was thinking is that...can I? I mean...i wish to go home..." she said in a low tone. Sid looked at her seriously crossing his arms just like a typical saas in dramas stays to threaten her daughter in law. "Roli if you have to go, why can't you tell me the truth? Why can't you tell that you didn't like the party?' Sid questioned her. Things were going very difficult for Roli. Neither could she say him the reason for her intension to leave or nor could she just leave. "Why can't you tell me that you're not interested in cocktail parties?" asked Sid with a smile. Roli was opened mouthed; she didn't foresee that he'd find the reason of her deprivation so easily. "Tell me honestly..." he asked looking in to her black eyes which reflected his image. Roli couldn't lie; she nodded her head in approval. "You're so funny..who told It's a cocktail party?" asked Sid. Roli was confused. "But...Akhi asked you something to chill and you nodded with a smile..." she mumbled all confused. "Areyy..He asked something to chill...so what? Come..I'll show you..." he lead her to the interiors and reached the spacious kitchen. "Wow...it's nice..."commented Roli. thank you..." said Sid with a handsome smile. He moved to the fridge and took out a large packet of chilled juice. "Chilled enough?" he asked Roli. Roli nodded her with a big smile. "What???Chilled juice...Akhi is gonna kill you for sure..." Sid smiled and started pouring the juice in to some glasses. "You don't drink?" asked Roli as a matter of fact. "No..." said Sid. "Don't tell me...i don't trust you, not even once???" she asked him. Sid smiled and turned to her. "If you ask like this...Haan...once I tried...during my college days...Friends were having so tried..." he said. "Then???" asked Roli like a kid who wishes to hear a story. "Then what???Felt as if a train travelled through my throat...that was the first and last..." completed Sid with a chuckle. "Oh that's so funny..." said Roli as she closed her mouth to control her laughter. She stopped for a while and looked Sid. "Can I ask something?' she asked him hesitantly. "Of course...why do you run this trailer for a question?" asked Sid. "Woh...Where is your family...i mean..i didn't see them..." she asked hesitantly. "Oh that..i was waiting for this question actually...to be very frank there is no one as such to say...No...I'm not a mushroom which popped from nowhere...there was a family, but not now..." he said coolly. "I'm, extremely sorry...I shouldn't have asked..." said Roli as a pardon. "Oh come on girl..Take it easy...see...We'll go out fast... otherwise Asmitha will imagine that we're romancing inside the kitchen..." he said laughing. "So true..." said Roli as she took the tray and walked out. "no need... I'll take care..."said Sid as he tried to get the tray from her. "No...i will serve Akhi with his chilled thing..That would work..." said Roli. "oh ho..." said Sid. Roli nodded. "Okay then..." he agreed to her and they walked out.
"Here Akhi...Your drink to chill..." said Roli as she kept the tray on the table. Akhi looked with all zest but became like a deflated balloon as he saw the juice. "Siddhant...this..." he asked Sid rolling his eyes. "Haan..this..chilled juice...you wanted something to chill..." said Sid with a hidden smile. Everyone except Akhi broke in to loud peals of laughter. "Siddhant...bro...This was not fair..." said Akhi disappointedly. "Leave it yaar...these girls are there na...Siddhant...one day it's party for just we boys..." said Abhi. "Okay.." agreed Sid. "Party is all good, but I hope this time, no train will run through someone's throat..." taunted Roli. Sid looked at Roli rolling his eyes whilst she smothered her laughter. "What??? Train???" asked Asmitha. "Nothing..." said Roli much to Sid's relief. "Okay...come on...dance time..." said Abhi. "No...You guys enjoy..I will watch..."said Nishfa. "Oh no!!!This girl...Roli...at least you..." said Akhi. "No yaar...no mood..." Roli denied. "How's hat possible...no mood means...come on...dance..." said Sid as he took her to dance holding her hand. Asmitha saw this and was growing fidgety. Roli started moving graciously according to the music and Sid was giving full company to her. What else to spoil poor Asmitha's good mood? Sid made Roli circle and did a formal dance receiving applause from all except Asmitha. But the dance had made Roli and Sid dissolve in to their own world that they stood looking in to each other's eyes for a good while until Akhi snapped his fingers before their eyes. Roli looked away and Sid tired to change the topic. "Food...let's dig in to some food..." he suggested. That worked and they had a nice dinner.
Around 10. Everyone was really tired after the get together. It was all fun with chatting, dancing and of course eating. They were all happy and it was time for good bye. Akhi and Abhi were all set to go whilst Nishfa's husband came to pick her. Asmitha was not ready to leave Roli alone and go (not because she's too concerned about Roli, but thinking of the consequences of leaving Roli and Sid alone), but she was forced to go as per Nishfa's husband's request. Now only Roli was left behind as she wanted to go in other route. Sid and Roli walked through the portico together. "I'll leave you at home..." suggested Sid. "No...Here my bro is waiting in the reception down there...So I will go with him..." said Roli. "Oh okay...come...I'll leave you down..And that way, I can meet your bro as well..." said Sid. "Sure..."said Roli with a smile and they entered the lift to reach down.
