I think that Gautum saw Nakul kill Tripty, and he took the knife from him to shift the blame on himself. He is Nakul's father after all. It is also possible that Mahir was with him at the time, and he is keeping quite for both there sakes!!! Gauthum is his son after all!!!

Another Point:

When Tripty was was pushed down the stairs to her death, everyone was shown running towards her but Mahir, yes they say he was sick!! BUT WAS HE REALLY ACTUALLY THAT SICK!!!! these are some points i wanted to bring up! what do u guys think?????????????????

Somehow I get this feeling that it is Mihir, I don't know why, but then it could be Nakul too Oh my gosh.....

i also feel its mihir because today in the last scene with tulsi he kept saying that gautam is not the killer gautam is not the killer, "main mihir virani tumse kehta hoon ke gautam ne kisi ka khoon nahi kiya" this means its either mihir himself or mihir knows who did it.

another point to note is that nakul was not shown when gautam got arrested. and he is not aware of his arrest. i think he was shown going out to meet saanchi. this could mean that nakul did it and gautam didn't say anything just because he doesn't want his son behind the baars. im pretty sure though that the killer can't be gautam!!!
