Why is Dev's mom so insecure

so she is insecure that she will loose that importance in his life if he gets a wife.

Like all his attention will shift to his wife!

Dev is hestiating to marry that Nuts even when that important deal is in the picture, but he will fight for Sona and that's gonna rise her insecurity even more and Garib Ki Beti Radha fueling her insecurity would make her blast at Sona

But show ka koi barosa nahi. Ishwari might not accept Sona as compared to Nuts is what I think. But who cares as long as Dev falls in love with Sona and she accepts it? We'll get to see them together atleast.

Did you think about another possibility of Sona refusing to accept Dev after he realises love for her?😕
