Preetika Rao, is a person whose beauty shows and represents her whole character. Whether, it be her face, eyes, or elegance she mesmerizes all. She has a way of catching anyone with her soft and humble personality. Her portrayal of Aaliya was definitely a gem, as she fit into the role as a hand into a glove. Her smile is soft yet lights up the whole room. Her style is always perfect and elegant, whether it be Indian or Western, she suits them all. Preetika Rao is the diamond that no matter how dirty it may get, it will always have its shine.

Family and Education

Preetika Rao is an Indian model, actress, writer and singer is well known for her role in the Hindi Television series Beintehaa. She was born on May 29, in Karnataka and brought up in Mumbai. Her father owns an advertising agency in Mumbai and her sister, Amrita Rao, is a Bollywood actress. Preetika graduated majoring in History from Sophia College, while also acquiring a diploma in Advertising and Journalism.

Modeling Career

As a teen, Preetika started her modeling career with an advertisement for Cadbury Dairy Milk, along with Amitabh Bachchan. She had a successful modeling career with many advertisements and photo shoots to her name. After her stint in modeling she went to do film journalism for South Side , Chennai Times Mumbai Mirror, Bangalore Mirror, Indian Forums, Deccan Chronicle and Asian Age.

Filmography

Preetika made her movie debut in 2010 with the Tamil romantic movie Chikku Bukku opposite Arya. She then debuted in the Telugu Movie industry with Priyudu in 2011. After her films, she moved to US to study broadcast journalism. To pursue further studies she turned down Bollywood movies that came her way including offers for movies including Aashiqui 2. Her Kannada movie Rebel is yet to hit the screens.

Television

Preetika made her National Television debut with the popular television serial Beintehaa aired on Colors TV, playing the role of Aaliya Zain Abdullah, which made her a household name; the role fetched her Best Actress Award at the Kalakar Awards (2015) along with the Zee Gold Best Debut and The ITA Performer of the Year in 2014-2015. Her National Television debut television serial, Beintehaa was a show that was loved by many people. Not only was in telecasted in India, it was telecasted in Pakistan on ARY Zindagi, dubbed and shown in South India on Raj TV as "Alaipayuthey", and currently is being shown in Indonesia on ANTV and once again in India on Rishtey as "Salaame Ishq - Daastan Mohabbat Ki"
