The show, which initially focused on the relationship between two sisters, will now focus on Gopi's track after the leap.

After Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani and Ye Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai, Saath Nibhana Saathiya is set to be the next show that will introduce a time leap.

The new track will exclude Mohammed Nazim, Vandana Pathak and Feroza Khan who played the pivotal characters of Ahem, Gaura and Kinjal respectively. The show, which initially focused on the relationship between two sisters, will now focus on Gopi's track after the leap.

With Ahem's death, Gopi will encounter challenges, which eventually affect her family's lives too. Apparently, the big leap was being constantly pushed forward to discourage the actors from quitting the show as they had expressed reservations in ageing on the screen. Finally after days of brainstorming, the creatives came up with a leap idea that had the consent of the leading actors.

Commenting on the leap, leading lady of the show Devoleena Bhattacharjee said, "It is sad that the leap will see the exit of wonderful actors like Nazim, Vandanaji and Ferozaji. We all had a great time shooting together but the show must go on. It's been an amazing journey as Gopi so far. The viewers have accepted me as their own. I hope that they gladly accept the new characters in the show post-leap readily."

Senior actress Rupal Patel who plays the role of Kokila, adds, "I am very fortunate to be associated with a show like Saathiya, since the last seven years. It has been a beautiful journey. I hope the audience continues to love us."
