Meera gets married without her father there?

I'm sorry but how can the family and especially Meera get married with out her father there?! Like I don't care if she has to get married before a certain time this is just not acceptable that they kill of Ahem and he never got to witness his daughter's marriage . I know you have to follow what ever the script says but I can't see any daughter or the whole family going on with a wedding without the father of the bride.
