Good-looking actor, Khalid Siddiqui, who was last seen in Dream Girl, is all set to be seen in Star Plus' 'Saath Nibhaana Saathiya'.

After lead actor Mohammad Nazim's exit Khalid will enter the show to play the role of a doctor, who will eventually be Gopi's (Devoleena Bhattacharjee) love interest. The model-turned-actor, who doesn't do too many daily soaps, says he was not unaware about Saathiya's popularity before signing up.

"I liked the character and also the fact that the production house is good and the show is on Star Plus. These were the two things that attracted me towards the show. However, I was unaware about Saathiya's popularity before taking up the project. I had no clue that it is one of the top rated show on Star Plus. I recently came to know about it," said Khalid.

When asked, if there is any pressure as viewers are used to watching Mohammad Nazim and Devoleena's pair, he said, "I believe in giving my best in whatever I do. I live in present and just go with the flow. I know if I will give my 100 per cent people will accept me. I believe that on television, characters become popular and not actors. Now, it is up to the writers how well they shape up my character."

Khalid is not insecure of being over-shadowed by female characters on the show, "I don't do much of TV. I was not comfortable doing television because of its long schedules. It was only after Dream Girl that I started enjoying working on this medium. I believe in team work. TV is a women-dominated medium. You pick any show today it is woman centric and I see no harm in being part of such shows," concluded the actor.
