Vishal Singh's exclusive interview (He plays Jigar in SNS)

Jigar Modi of small screen, actor Vishal Singh is all set to make his film debut with the hindi version of the Malayalam flick, Traffic that has Manoj Bajpayee in the lead role

This is Vishal aka Jigar Modi's debut filmTraffic, the Hindi version of the Malayalam hit is releasing today.It is an ensemble film boasting of great actors like Jimmy Shergill,Manoj Bajpayeeand Divya Dutta.Vishal Singhwhom we know as Jigar Modi from the daily soap makes his film debut with the project. Excerpts from an interview...How did you bag the film?I have a friend, Tanveer working in Endemol who first told me about the project. We were discussing it and he asked me if I would like to do a part in it. I saw the original version ofTrafficin Malayalam and was totally blown over by its brilliant story. I met the director and gave a small audition and he told me I was on board.


What was your first impression of late Rajesh Pillai?When I first saw him I felt he was the quietstrict sort. Later on, when we were shooting I realized that he was a kid at heart. He used to crack jokes with all the junior actors on the sets and kept everyone in great spirits. Shooting was super fun because of him. We miss him terribly.Do you feel doing a film with ensemble cast is a good idea for a debutant actor?I think it's all about the opportunity that comes at a given point of time. Today, audiences love films backed by great content. In a well-written script, even the smallest of characters stand out. Yes, the hoopla around a big commercial release isgreater but then script does matter in today's era. We have seeing a lot of actorswho are continuously getting work due to their great work in ensemble films. I feel a good script is necessary.What is your role in the film? How was it working with a senior cast?I play a journalist. It is a small role but every character is extremely important in the narrative. No one will go unnoticed in Traffic. I did not have any scenes withManoj Bajpayee, Jimmy Sheirgill or Divya Dutta. Most of my time was with Sachin Khedekar and Kitu Gidwani. Man...they are such powerhouse actors. Standing in a corner and observing them is like being in an acting school itself.There is buzz that you are quitting Saath Nibhaana Saathiya. Are you looking at a career in films?I am very much a part of Saath Nibhaana Saathiya. The show has given me everything. I am concentrating on Traffic for now. Post the film, I am hoping to see more work in movies. I want to explore myself. As an actor, I am quite greedy.Your modeling career has also taken off ina big way. Has it come as a pleasant surprise?Yes..the feedback has been amazing. I never thought it would pan out in this manner. I always wanted to be a model. I love fashion and it's a part of me. After modeling for some designers in India, I got a chance to be a part of Los Angeles Fashion Week. I also did the Style FashionWeek. I was the only Indian model there. I got a warm response from people. I am greedy about my modeling career. I have modeled for FHI hair care, which is a hugebrand.Daily soaps have little to do for male characters. Does that disappoint you as an actor?Yes, it is a fact that men don't have much to do. This is why I have avoided the exclusive contract clause. I like to do different shows, fashion events and other exciting stuff that comes my way. Being inan exclusive clauses can at times make you feel very restricted. I am happy that I can live my life the way I want to.

this is not gonna happen because this show is produced by The so called psycho Rashmi

she only knows to ruin a successfully show
