Dosti hi mere liye sab kuchh hai...
When you have a friend,
Who shares what she has not, with anyone else before...
Who forgives a public humiliation ,
In a blink of an eye...
This I say is Sumo's greatest character... to forgive and yet to show others the real pathway. Isnt she the signpost he has been looking for since ages?
Who fights at the drop of a hat,
And forgives the very next second...
Who points out your mistakes,
Gently reminding you of your values...
That park conversation when 6 crores turned out to be cheap... so cheap that it couldnt bring a smile on the girl's face
Who sacrifices her smiles,
For your family and You...
After all they are ek duje ke vaaaste😉
Who stands up for You,
When your world looks down on you...
That small scene (when young Sumo berated a lady) I think so stayed on in the mind of Oxford lawyer... when someone built a door which could contain him and in effect, her... a difficult job, btw
Who lets you take the limelight,
For she truly sees your worth...
He deserved it as much as she. I thought more than she (Namik's charm working here😉)
Who demands gruffly,
And gives sweetly...
Who wants to make the best,
Of the last moments you have together...
Superb👏 Child Sumo is still verbalized and actualized in adult Sumo
Who said the past is not alive or dead as a dodo.
Past speaks through her, flows through his entire being
And friendship is just a means to
Keep the past at bay
Otherwise Love is not far away
Destroying his reserve, his control
Over the years
Built meticulously
Painstakingly
Attributed as career,
As flirting,
And as style
Elucidated never as love
But
Career is for her
Flirting is with her
Style is him with her
Need I say more?
Who brings you the sweetest memories,
Of the best times of your life...
Who tidies up your life,
As if it was your right to ask it of her...
Who you know would be there,
Every step of the way...
How many people are lucky,
To have a friend like that?
Indeed...
...Her friendship means EVERYTHING to me...
Isske aagey, peechhe, upar, neeche...kuchh bhi nahi hai...
SHE simply means everything to me.
Friendship is after all another name of Love😉
So, as we all try to pass the weekend over, having been deprived of our Friday treat😭...I don't remember discussing this fb line Shravan posted after the terrace scene...
It was a thought on friendship, right after he told her how what they had between them could never be broken..it wouldn't be possible at all...it was a design of fate...
..And the very night he seemed to proclaim it to the world- Dosti hi mer eliye sab kuchh hai...Obviously she was the inspiration behind that thought...😳
Here is to celebrating that thought, amidst all the confusion Sumo has landed us in!😆
...A VM from Shwets!🥳...Do watch it and let us both know how you liked it.

As always, a perfect song choice and beautiful scene selection!👏 The song is more apt from Sumo's POV, I felt- since we really don't know much about Shravan's thought process. But the two scenes where he got into close proximity with Suman..esp the one in his room...loved how he seemed to break out of a trance...
We have so many theories...but this meant to me strongly that he is someone who prides himself on his self control and caught himself off guard..we call it a defense mechanism...or survival tactic...but to me, it feels like a way of life for Shravan... As in...He had trained his mind to focus on only one thing for the past ten years...his career...so it comes as a habit..a precaution..and when it comes to Sumo...I see it as a mark of respect for who she is, to him.😳
This is what I have been reiterating in different posts... his life has not been easy.. over time becoming bitter
But, it shows him a man of character to tease her and yet not to let her be embarrassed (he didnt let her dance). To put her up on display is something he hated even when he went ahead with the reunion party (the way he was pacing... Pushkar during that scene was his alter ego)
And the one in the kitchen...had been a very personal gesture...as if he wanted to show her how he could invade her personal space...much like she could when she pulls down his collar or walks in unannounced in his room...😛
Wont call it invasion... but, friendship is far more demanding than Love... the right to do anything and yet let her play without rules
On the terrace...This is where the promo really could have played out- the bachpan ka pyar aaj bhi Zubaan pe nahi aata...because he must have noticed how she had reacted to his touch...yet there was so much innocence in her...he couldn't bear to dishonour that...he raised her face and looked in to her eyes..and all he could say was that there was an unbreakable bond...and since he had wanted to be utmost sincere at that point in time, and his feelings had stayed dormant for ten years...all he could profess confidently was friendship...
This is what I had written in one of my earlier posts (Rubik ...Game of love)
Quoting from that post
Sumo's realization of love has been abrupt... though it was always there. So, on the terrace when she closed her eyes and he backed off... my reading of the same was
Isn't she reading Shravan superficially? And supposedly they do get married in this scenario.. will Suman be really happy?
She who valued, laid such a great esteem on both intentions and results.. would she be happy that she only fell in love with a man without understanding his journey, without understanding where he came from.
Shravan's whole vocation in life has been to love Sumo (in different contexts the hues might have changed.. yet it has always remained love) and here, was Sumo who had merely fallen in love with the idea of love. Looking at it as a game...
Also, Shravan will never go wrong in his estimation of Sumo (after the 6 crores incident) and this friendship is part of that narrative of Sumo he has understood. Sumo the girl who was loud, bullish, was also a girl whose understanding of what constitutes real victory, what constitutes Truth is way beyond other mortal beings.
But, here was a girl who was failing to realize herself and her love for him. Did Sumo know why she loved him? Was she only happy that Shravan Malhotra, the top-notch Oxford lawyer loved to be in her company?
Shravan had learnt once through her about putting a smile on a girl's face and it is Sumo's turn to realize that only retracing, going back in time to write the narrative of friendship with Shravan will she ever find love. Shravan's is not a teacher or an educator but he shall be there as a friend and probably when she had again re-read, re-written the friendship narrative will she be able to refashion the narrative of love.
What if she doesn't read it exactly in the same way? Well, then it wasn't only love.. it was a beautiful companionship which will be buried (perhaps) in the sands of time.
What about Shravan? He shall accompany her, never raising her hopes and yet not belittling them, stand by her and one day, if she realizes that the narrative of friendship is never or was never different from that of love she will find Shravan waiting to pull her into his arms.
It is like he has these fleeting moments of desire when he wants to confess his love...but somehow, he is just happy being with her, knowing she will never leave his side, no matter what...The rest, he must think, he'd figure his feelings out along the way...😉the dominant emotion he has been feeling now was that of friendship...
Awww...This guy!
