I'm fed up of reading my link-up stories: Arjun Kapoor

Have you watched Kapoor & Sons? If yes, what did you like about the film?

Yes I have the watched the film and I love the fact that Shakun Batra named Sidharth Malhotra's character Arjun Kapoor (Laughs). Picture us vajah se thodi zyada chali hai. Shakun is a very dear friend of mine. I loved his Ekk Main Aur Ek Tu. It was a little ahead of its time. But I loved Kapoor & Sons because the director's craft is so visible. He has edited the first half like a thriller. He created a thriller out of a family drama in that one reel where family picture has to be taken. I enjoyed the film a lot. You always might not relate to the film but you have heard of families like this. You have heard of situations like this. Recently I watched Airlift too. I enjoyed that also.

Do you enjoy reading about your link-up stories?

No, I don't enjoy reading them. I'm quite fed-up of them. Today if I say hi' to somebody it becomes a link-up. Everybody knows what film I have signed and whom I'm seeing even before I do!

What are your oddest quirks?

I find reasons not to like myself all the time and put myself down in front of people all the time. People don't get my humour at times because I deliver the jokes with a deadpan face and then they find them serious. So that's a very odd quirk about me. And one more thing, I'm very moody.

What makes you angry?

Incompetence! If you are supposed to do a particular job then you have to do that job. If you had one job to do and you can't do that right... that pisses me off. And if I don't like the food I'm eating, I can get angry. I get angry because of food many times.

Who are the directors you want to work with?

I keep telling Farhan (Akhtar) that I'm dying to work with him at some point whether it happens as a director or actor. Even Zoya Akhtar. Both are exciting and talented. I would love to work with Abhishek Varman (director of 2 States) again. I really got along with him. Ayan Mukherjee is an amazing director. Imtiaz Ali and Aanand L Rai... actually I want to work with those directors with whom Shah Rukh Khan is working (Laughs). But I also believe an actor gets time to work with all directors in his working span so I'm not impatient. My time will come. I want to work with Raja Krishan Menon, who directed Airlift. And also Mani Ratnam is in my wish list.
