Good comparison Ramya..
Add Vibhishana angle too...bt then it goes slighly different...he told Raavan about wrongs he was doin and also followed dharma...but then, he is never in the list of ideal brother in the world..

So wat my deduction is from all the comparisons u have made and considering vibhishan from my side, only those who have got ideal elder brothers are lucky enough to be called as ideal younger brothers..😆

Criteria:
Follow Brother instructions: Laxman checked, Dushasana checked, Vibhishan- not checked

Follow Dharma/the right path: Laxman checked, Dushasana unchecked, Visbhishan: checked

Elder brothers following dharma/right path: Ram checked, Duryodhan not checked, Raavan not checked

woohooo...Ram-Laxman Duo get the maximum checks...so they are ideal.😃

Yes whatever Ram & Meghanaad did was similar deeds but the aim behind it was different. Ram did follow his father's wish to respect a lady (his mother) while Meghanaad did it to rob the respect of a lady (married woman)
Ram fought the war to restore a ladies honour and Meghanaad did the same to avenge his aunt's traitors. But he didn't wait to reason out why did the other person harmed or disrespected his aunt.
Though both were ekapatnivratashta, ram not just loved his wife but also respected & honored her while Meghanaad felt a woman should not be given more freedom which will spoil the family 😆😆😆 Male chauvinist. But his aunt ensured his thinking was right by volunteering to the vast Dandak and got humiliated by lakshman which became the reason for Ravan's families destruction.

Thank you Jaya. 😊
Well said. To become maryada purush, being ekpatnivrata is just not enough. In which case,we could have thought of Rajrishi Janak also. But its the situation which proves the quality of a man. Janak was not forced to face a problem like Ram (fulfilling the promise given by Dhasarath). So undoubtedly Ram was/is a maryada purush.

On a lighter note: Even though Ram is not a favourite pati for super star plus, for normal human being, he was and ever will be the favourite pati.😉

Awesome. I thought to add Bharath and Bhima under the ideal brother category.
Bharath went against his mom Kaikeyi for brother Ram (dharm path) and Bhima went against Yudhishthira during infamous dice game to help Draupadi (dharm path). Still both are good brothers, one who disowned mother for brother and another taught his brother the right lesson at the right time, but the listener was a deaf.
Yours is so nice. Totally agree.
