Aroona Irani will be dropped from Maayka because she is unable to give dates. Meanwhile Aroona accuses the producers of working in a haphazard manner

Aroona Irani is being ousted from Maayka. The reason she gives for her exit from the show is lack of time. She has to put in 23 days in a month for the serial, which goes way beyond her shooting schedule. Aroona, despite working in the serial for quite some time now, has been asked to leave out because of her inability to give it the time it demands. The production house and the channel have decided to substitute her and are weighing their options between Shoma Anand, Ashwini Kalsekar, Zarina Wahab.

Says a source from the production house, "We will make the replacement from Thursday. Aroona is finding it difficult to adjust her dates as she is caught up with other commitments. She has also begun her new venture which takes up a lot of her time."

Aroona was playing the role of Durga in Maayka,a complete negative character that bears resemblance to her character in the film Beta. Says Aroona, "Initially, when I was offered the role I had to shoot for 11 days a month. But now, they are asking for 23 days, which is not possible for me."

She adds, "If I knew that the situation would turn out this way, I would have never taken it up. After being part of the show for such a long time, I don't want to quit. My role was a good one and very different from the usual characters I'm offered."

She goes on to talk about the problems she faced while working with the particular production house. "The production house works in a very haphazard manner. They do not inform us about the week's schedule in advance due to which we have to re-shuffle our schedules at the last minute. However, I have always stuck to my commitment. We take two days to complete one day's work and because of this, they lose their money and I lose my time," she says.

Says Pearl Shahi, the programming head of Zee TV, "We are in the process of finalising somebody for Aroona's role in Maayka. We will choose between Shoma Anand, Ashwini Kalsekar and Zarina Wahab, to replace her."

She adds, "Aroona's role in Naagin has been suitably increased now that she will no longer be in Maayka."

Ashwini left the show once and the role of Jigyasa was nothing without her, I don't think that they'll let her go again.....and it's still not confirmed that she's the one replacing Aroona

i agree with u Ekta has really made a mess of this relationship
