Well......guys,if you are bored of watching all the serials of EKTA KAPOOR ,whose thinking and imagination......is only limited to SAAS-BAHU,DEVAR-BHABHI and other sugar coated characters ......then you surely have a better option,to watch on your TV, NAAM GUM JAYEGA .I'ld certainly not say that it is an extraordnary serial or a must watch.......but it is just that the serial offers you something new,and the people behind the serial have thought in a differant direction.That is what is good to see.NAAM GUM JAYEGA is a family drama,set against the HINDU-MUSLIM background.
The story revolves around the two main protagonists PRIYANKA(GAURI PRADHAN) and ZEENAT KAZI(SHILPA KADAM) who were born on the same day.....but were accidentaly switched.So the girl,who is born a Hindu grows up beleiving that she is a Muslim(i.e.SHILPA KADAM).....and the girl who is born a Muslim......is brought up in a hindu family(i.e. GAURI PRADHAN).Priyanka's parents get to know this reality later through a doctor......but never tell her,that she is a muslim,same happens with Zeenat's parents.In the meantime Priyanka and Zeenat become great friends......but are unaware of each others true identity.Priyanka is getting married to Aryan(TARUN KHANNA) ......and that is where a netaji,who has a grudge on Priyanka's father(i.e. KAWALJEET )reveals that PRIYANKA is a muslim,and vice-versa.......and both the girls are shocked by the whole drama and reality.And in turn Priyanka's marriage is broken.......now i have to watch the next episodes.
The direction by SACHIN KAMLAKAR ......is pretty neat,though some of the scenes are not handled as intelligently as they should be.So they fail to leave that impact.Since this serial is on a sensitive topic......the scenes should have more depth,there are some effective scene........but i think with such a good storyline and concept the director can do a far better job.
The cast compromises of some good talents....... KAWALJEET is very good as PRIYANKA'S father, BENJAMIN GILANI as Zeenat's father is equally impressive,NANDITA PURI who is cast as Zeenat's mother looks very nice and acts well too........👏now to the main actresses, GAURI PRADHAN(of Kutumb fame) is a very talented actress,and she has a difficult role to perform and she does a fine job out of it.Needless to say she looks pretty.👏 SHILPA KADAM(of sanjivini fame) has improved her acting.......she is doing justice to the role given to her.The men in their life SHYAM SHROFF (Adil)and TARUN KHANNA (Aryan)have a small role......but Adil is cool and very cute,but Aryan needs to take a crash course in acting.The only person's acting i hate is the man who is playing the wicked netaji.......he irritates me like hell.The rest of the cast is pretty okay.
On the whole with some nice dialouges,good acting and thought provoking scenes.......NAAM GUM JAYEGA is a good serial to watch.......you can certainly give it a try,coz even if you don't find it entertaining you'll pleased to see someone atleast having attempted something different........than the same old saga of SAAS-BAHU .
