Chapter 22

Rahul's friends pulled him aside and accused him of not enjoying the party to its full.

Friend1~ "Kya rahul, rockstar kaisa agar apni hi party mein alag jaan nahi daali... Lagta hai iska asli rockstar roop aise bahar nahi aayega..." he signals another friend in their group.

Friend2~ "Sahi kaha. Chal bhai, asli rockstar party mein life kaise daalte hai aaj sabko dikha de!" he passed a glass of bhang milk to rahul.

Rahul tried to resist but his friends insisted and he had to drink it. Two glasses later, the effects started to show. He jumped on the stage with his four friends, took the mic, and addressed to everyone in filmy style.

Rahul~ "Friends, family... and friends! Sab logo ne itna enjoy kiya... phir bhi kuch log hai... jo party mein... parti-cipate hi nahi kar rahe hain!" pausing in between sentences.

Friends in chorus "Nahi kar rahe hain!"

Rahul~ "Main sikha ta hoon ki party mein life kaise daalte hain... Par meri ek shart hai... main akela nahi karoonga... mujhe ek partner chahiye... jisko main choose karronga... To usko mere saath... parti-cipate karna padega!"

Friends in chorus "Karna padega!"

Raj wondered what is wrong with rahul when Nikhil informed that rahul's friends had forced him to drink the milk containing bhang. Dadi-Dada ji, Sonali, Raj, Maanvi felt a little concerned for rahul but there was nothing they could do. Surely rahul will do as he wishes until the effects of bhang wears off.

Rahul~ "Mere saath..." pointing his finger and running it through the crowd, he seeked only one person and soon he found her. "Tum dogi mera saath!" pointing straight at maanvi.

Maanvi eyes widened "Main? Main dance nahi karoongi. Mujhe dance nahi aata." She shook her head.

Rahul grinned "Aaj tum to kya, tumhari jooti bhi nachegi!"

Maanvi stared at him for a moment, then turned around to try and leave but payal's group and rahul's group surrounded her. DJ plays "Manma emotion jaage re" and rahul starts dancing with his four friends who were with him on stage.

Crowd breaks into cheers as song ends. Dadi ji and Sonali comes to maanvi and whispers something to her. Determined, maanvi heads towards DJ and asks him to play the song "Chittiyaan kalaiyaan". She steps on the stage, wraps her pallu around her waist, and as the tune from the song begins, payal and her friends joins behind her.

Performace ends and everyone applauds for them. Everyone moves on to snacks and playing with colors again. Raj meets with producers and sponsorers, who praise the party and its highlights. Raj informs them that this was all done by payal and they seemed impressed.

Raj~ "Please enjoy yourselves, I need to attend to my other guests as well."

Producer1~ "Please, go ahead. Thank you for inviting us. This is a wonderful family party. Makes us feel like home, we do like such personal gestures every once a while."

Raj~ "Thank you. Please continue. I'll be back after attending my other guests."

Raj leaves to attend other guests while producers discuss about extending their album with additional premium content that would be great to promote and increase the demand for new albums.

Avanti was sulking around rahul and maanvi as usual, waiting to find an opportunity to jump between them. Rahul maanvi and payal were receiving lot of praises from the guests, needless that rahul may not remember some of it as he was still under bhang's effect.

Sonali comes to them "Maanvi, rahul ko thoda rest karna chahiye. Usko bhang chadi hui hai aur tum bhi thodi thaki hui lag rahi ho. Why don't you both go and take rest, I will send Chotu with snacks to your room."

Payal~ "Mausi ji, you are right. Me and Nikhil will escort them and be back soon."

With Sonali's permission, payal and Nikhil escorts them back to their room. Payal notices someone lurking around rahul since the start of the party which she didn't like. Payal asks Nikhil to go ahead; she will join in a second.

Payal walks towards Avanti and confronts her "Hi. Sorry I didn't get your name. Who are you?"

Avanti~ "Hi. You don't know me?" in surprised tone. "I m Avanti Talwar, Nisha's best friend. She invited me. I m sort of a family member to sabarwals, that is why little surprised that you don't know me."

Payal~ "Ah, I have heard about you. Nice to meet you."

Avanti~ "Nice to meet you too payal. The party is really nice, everyone is so impressed!"

Payal~ "Seems to me that you didn't like my party."

Avanti~ "What? I love your party. It is absolutely great!" fakes smile.

Payal~ "Really? Then how come you are here and not out there? Whole party I noticed you following around rahul and try to talk to him when he was alone. I know you are his ex. But he is happily married to the person he loves, so why would his ex stalk him around after what happened between you and him. Any woman with self-respect would get over the person who left them on the wedding day to marry someone else. But not you, how very curious."

Payal's words pressed the right points which brought the true face of evil Avanti up front.

Avanti~ "How dare you!? Tum hoti kaun ho mere personal matters mein bolne wali? Mere aur rahul ke beech mein kya hua kya nahi, tumhe kya pata. Rahul abhi bhi mere liye feel karta hai and I know it! Uss maanvi ne rahul ko fasaya hai, mujhse cheena hai! Main apne rahul ko maanvi ke changul se bachaungi!" she lets her rage and obsession towards rahul out in front of payal.

Payal~ "I m a people person and I know a sick psycho person when I see one. Tum rahul ki pasand kabhi ho hi nahi sakti. Main apne bhai ko bahaut ache se jaanti hoon aur wo sirf maanvi se pyaar karta hai. Tum unn fan girls mein se ho jo kisi superstar ko leke itni obsessive ho jaati hain aur ye sochne lagti hai ki wo sirf unse pyaar karta hai. There are nice psychiatrists who can treat people like you." Talking to her in perfect calm manner.

Avanti~ "Tumne mujhe pagal kaha?! Tum jaanti nahi ho ki main kaun hoon. Mere aur rahul ke beech mein jo bhi aayega main usko chodungi nahi. You wait and watch! Avanti Talwar ki insult karne wale ka main kya karti hoon." She threatens payal and leaves.

Payal smiles as she knows how to deal with evil psychopaths like her. Payal heads back to rahul maanvi's room to check up on them before re-joining the party.
