Hey everyone! I'm here with an OS on the song Tere Liye from Veer-Zaara which someone had requested me to write on about the original YHM. And so I took made this OS my take on one of the better tracks of YHM; the first Param track! Hope you all will like it and without anymore delay, here goes the OS...

Ek Duje Ke Liye

Caught in between their family, a relationship was about to change, the relationship between a namesake couple. Ishita and Raman.

It was so much to take in. It was too much to believe. Accusations were thrown across the room, the family screamed and fought. He heard cries, she cried. He heard pleas, she pleaded. He felt disgust, she was disgusted. Amidst the chaos that had occurred in their lives in the past, she only wanted him to support her even if no one else would while it was only her on his mind hoping as he hoped that she hadn't gone through the worst in his absence.

But they couldn't voice out that they only wanted the other, for the ugly truth of their personal life was belittled and told by his brother-in-law. As it came forth, she looked over at him wishing it would speak up trusting to him do that for her if nothing else, while he was in his own world not knowing which path to take.

He seemed to completely support her until he looked over at his sister. She was crying and he knew her well to know she would be heartbroken if these accusations were true, and he couldn't take that just like he couldn't bear his wife's tears. He didn't know what he should do in the moment, support his wife trusting her every word knowing she couldn't do such a thing, or to side with the man who had married his sister and never seemed to be unfaithful. Why did he have to make a choice? If only he had been there to see what had happened...if only he would have saved his wife everything she had gone through.

She continuously looked at him, kept her eyes and ears only for him. For a few moments she ignored the demeaning remarks on her character, didn't glare at the man who had scarred her for a long time, and brushed aside her mother's pleas to leave. She only looked at him, she wanted him to speak up. She didn't care for anyone's words except his at the moment. If he believed her words, if he trusted her, if he would just look at her and give a mere assuring look, she would know she wasn't alone. She would have the strength to believe on this household again. She would be able to fight back the accusations and she would prove herself innocent...if only he would say something to her.

He didn't say anything nor did she. He kept on thinking wishing for there to be a middle path while she kept hoping that their short marriage had been able show him who she was. He wished to talk to her alone about this, she wished he would say anything as his silence began to worry her. But they couldn't react, they couldn't talk, nothing happened.

Tere liye, hum hain jiye, honton ko siye

Tere liye, hum hain jiye, har aansoo

For your sake, I live with my lips sealed.

For your sake, I live, swallowing all my tears.

Until she felt a tug on her hand. She heard her mother's voice as her to leave as she felt like she was being pulled back. But she refused to take her eyes off him. She was leaving, she was being pulled away from him, and she wouldn't be in his home anymore, not even as the mother of their daughter. But he still kept quiet, looking at the blank space in his own thoughts.

Soon her hopes faded on having anyone believe her from the Bhalla, including her namesake husband. She knew their relation wasn't a normal one, they couldn't stand each other yet had to live with each other. But in the few months of being married to him, she had begun to believe that though not the happiest, they would be able to live a decent life together. She had unknowing began to think that things would fall into place, but this once incident had changed everything.

He couldn't trust her, he didn't believe her words, he thought so low of her. For some unknown reason, it really hurt inside. He had insulted her, thrown rude remarks her way many time, always argued with her, but it never hurt like his silence did. She wanted him to support her once, and he didn't.

She felt disappointed and she made sure that the disappointment was visible on her face. It hurt to know that he let the ugly truth of their lives come out in front of everyone without a word and then didn't trust her one bit. She didn't want him to fight her family for him for she knew he cared too much about everyone, but she wished he would show some care towards her. All she wanted was one reassuringly look, maybe one sentence to say he'll make sure thing will be okay, that he will fix everything like he always tried to, that he would get to the truth, and that he would get her back.

But he didn't. So she didn't say anything either. Taking in the insulting remarks on her character by his brother-in-law, she kept quiet for the first time knowing that there was no point in saying anything to anyone since no one, more like he wouldn't believe her. She didn't want to say anything since he would believe and so she kept silent. But her eyes were still on him showing her disappointment as she shallowed her tear trying to appear strong in front of everyone especially her brother-in-law who had wronged her and she promised wold get punished.

Dil mein magar, jalte rahe, chaahat ke diye

Tere liye, tere liye

But in my heart, the lamp of love continues to burn

for your sake, for your sake

But there was an exception that broke her facade. Though she had put up a strong demeanour, it wasn't easy to keep it on the longer she looked at him. Her heart pounded as she was pulled away from her home, away from him. It didn't feel right, she wanted to stop her mother. She wanted to have him by her side, there was a desperation in her to have him by her side. She needed his trust, she needed his support... she needed him.

And before she would go back to the disappointed look she had on her face, it seemed as if he saw through her. It seemed like he understood her turmoil, as if he knew what she faced and how much he support or few words suddenly meant to her. She continued to look at him as they reached the door of the Iyer house and his expressions changed.

She was stopped for a moment before the door as her mother let out her frustration on the Bhallas. And that moment was more than enough for her. The way he looked at her. He didn't speak, he didn't give her any assurance. But there was something about the way he looked at her, she had never seen in him before. He almost reached out which she hoped was to stop her. And soon it seemed like she had hoped for a possible thing, because she could read him as well as he could. Not realizing that she had the ability to do so, she read his eyes and knew he didn't want her to leave as much as she didn't want to go.

But before they could say anything, her Amma pulled her into her house and shut the door not wanting her to be near the Bhallas anymore. And the last person she saw before the wooden door was in between them was his upset face, his desperate face, his longing, his need for her.

And it gave her a little hope. All wasn't lost, maybe he would see the truth, maybe he would fix thing...maybe he would take her back to their home. It gave her heart a warm feeling, as if a flicker of happiness entered her after long hours of tears, fear, and hurt.

But it faded soon as she realized she was no longer in the home she called hers, she was no longer with her daughter, and no longer with her husband. Though she had tiny hopes that he would do something to get to the truth, the sadness of what she had lost in her fight for self-respect and to get a shameless criminal the punishment he deserved, slowly sunk in.

She entered her empty room. It was her room, yet it didn't feel like hers. She simply walked to her bed like a lifeless soul, for her life, her family had been taken away from her. Now all she could do was wait until she would collect evidence or until he would do the same for her. Until then she would be here, away from her happiness.

Without a word she lay in bed silent tears falling from her eyes hoping she would find a way out of this. She closed her eyes as her mother came in and before she knew it, she felt gentle patting on her head. Soon she had fallen asleep hoping the next day would be better than the one that had past taking everything she lived for and with a hope her husband, her Raman would live up to the hope he had given her in a moment.

Tere liye, hum hain jiye, har aansoo piye

Tere liye, hum hain jiye, honton ko siye

For your sake, I live, swallowing all my tears.

For your sake, I live with my lips sealed.

He had stood look blank not answering anyone. Not his sister, not his brother-in-law, and sadly not even his wife. He didn't know what to do, for he was stuck between a rock and a hard place. He longed to trust her, he knew her enough to know these accusations couldn't be true. She wasn't someone who would want to break their family, but he couldn't support her. His sister's marriage, her heart was at stake and he couldn't take a chance. He knew the pain of a broken heart and couldn't put his sister what he had been through, at least not before he could open her eyes and show her the truth of her husband.

But as he made up his mind that he would bring out the truth, he looked over at her direction only to find her being slowly pulled away by her mother. He kept his mouth open unable to believe what had just happened in the few minutes he kept his attention off things. But before he could even say anything, he only focussed on her.

Her red eyes, her dishevelled state, her disappointment was all visible. He didn't know when his eyes teared up the moment he remembered his wife's words about what had taken place with her. What had she not seen in his absence? What she had gone through because of the leech that had been living in his family? And as the insult thrown on her character by his sister and brother-in-law, he couldn't let her go through anymore.

She had tolerated enough and he couldn't let her be hurt anymore. He didn't want her to cry anymore since the droplets falling from her eyes burnt his heart, and the trauma she had to bear in her own house had gone too far. He had gone for a few days, leaving her with a pride smile on her face as she fit into a small size dress that had been slightly altered, and he wished she would be the same when she returned.

But what he got to see what his wife behind bars over a false complaint. He got to see his family slowly breaking apart in front of his eyes. He saw her breaking through the strong face she put and he couldn't break her further by keeping her in the same home as her culprit even if it meant keeping her away from a while. It wouldn't be easy for him as the few days away from her hadn't been, but it was needed. She needed to be away from the man who tried to assault her and the people who wouldn't believe her.

And so he watched her go, he watched her disappointment, he quietly heard her parent's and Bala's frustration pour out on him for doing nothing. But he knew how much he was doing.

Dil mein magar, jalte rahe, chaahat ke diye

Tere liye, tere liye

But in my heart, the lamp of love continues to burn

for your sake, for your sake

But it wasn't easy. He watched her unshed tears as she was pulled into her maternal home by her mother. It took everything in him to stop himself calling out to her and pulling her into a consoling hug and tell her that he believed in her, that he would make things okay, that he would bring back her self-respect. But he knew now was not the time. He couldn't let anyone know that he was on her side, and that he was by her silently supporting, ready to fight for her at any moment.

However he fell weak. When she reached the door of the Iyer house, she was still looking at him. And he wanted to look away yet he couldn't. He didn't want to let his guard down, but he did. He couldn't keep a straight face as she was taken away from their home, from their daughter...from him. It was hard to let go of the woman who mended his relation with their Ruhi, the woman who kept his family happy, the woman he always argued with yet became so used to having around.

Having thought the same, he saw her crying, he saw a desperation in her eyes... he saw a plea from her. But this time it wasn't because of what had happened to her, it was because of what was happening to them. It was a plea to let her stay back, asking him to bring her back, asking him to say something. And h wanted to do at least that for her. However as the door came in between them, he lost the one chance to tell her what was on his mind.

Turning back after everyone began to disperse into their room putting forth their opinion on the situation that took place in their home. But he only noticed his brother-in-law and his smirk once Simmi cursed Ishita and headed to her room. He knew he had to do something.

He didn't take long to pre-occupy Param into some apologies on behalf of Ishita who took so much control as he wished to break the face of the creep who had dared to touch his wife. She wasn't just anyone, she was his mother's daughter, his family's bahu, she was his wife, she was Ishita Raman Bhalla and he wouldn't tolerate anyone doing or saying anything wrong to her.

But reminding himself that he was doing everything for her, he talked to Param for a while winning his trust on the situation. And taking the chance when Param went to the bathroom, he picked up his phone to check where the message had come from and what had really taken place.

Once having got the phone, he slowly and unwillingly walked into their room. It felt so quiet with the chatterbox Jhansi Ki Rani, it felt unusual, it felt weird, it felt wrong...it felt empty. Nothing seemed right without her, whether it was his dinner, sitting by the window working, watching loud cricket, or just sitting. Nothing was right without her.

Feeling lost in his own room, he walked over to the couch she had been sleeping on since their marriage except the days Ruhi slept with them. Slowly picking up her folded blanket, he lay down picking up her book placed on the side table. Opening up the first page, he looked at her handwriting reading the quotes she had penned down onto the book. Caressing her writing unknowingly smiling for the first time since he had landed back in Delhi, he held her book close to his heart. He closed his eyes promising her that he would bring her back after punishing the man who wronged her and with all the respect that she deserved.

And with the same silent promise, he slowly drifted off to sleep as he reminded himself of everything he needed to do to prove his wife, his Ishita innocent and make up for the humiliation she had faced.

Zindagi, le ke aayi hai, beete dinon ki kitaab

Ghere hain, ab humein, yaadein be-hisaab

Life has brought with it the chronicle of days past.

Incomparable memories surround us now.

The Next Morning

She walked out of the Iyer house. He walked out of the Bhalla house. And they kept silent like they had been with each other during the confrontations that took place yesterday. They took in each other's appearance unable to say anything to the other as she still felt a sense of hurt while he didn't know how to face her or what to say after what his family put her through.

She saw his tired state, his eyes were droopy while his walk clearly told her that he was suffering from more back pain. Concern filled her and she almost took a step forward in worry for him, but she stopped as she was reminded of the house behind him when she read the name plate. She trembled for a moment remembering what her brother-in-law had attempted to do to her. Unable to remember what had happened to her, she looked down not wanting to face him knowing she couldn't hide her tears for long and she didn't want to see the house behind him until that man was still in there.

On the other hand, he just kept on looking at her unable to do anything else. She had covered her swollen red eyes, but the streaks of the tears she had shed the previous night were visible on her sad face. She had gone back to the clothing she wore before their marriage. Her simple attire still told him a different story. He saw a moment of fear on her face as she seemed to look past his shoulder and then look down. He turned back to make sure Param wasn't around. But as he saw no one and turned back, he saw her fidgeting with her dupatta and suddenly she trembled so much that he was shaken for a moment before he saw her covered herself.

He stepped forward to help her immediately wanting to put his arms around her promising that no one would ever hurt her again and that he wouldn't let anything ever go wrong with her again. But before he could, their silence was interrupted by the newspaper delivery boy. As he handed Raman the business and Tamil paper following by handing Ishita a local paper written in Hindi, they both looked at each other.

A few months back, she had walked out of the door to pick up the paper. Called out by their new neighbour, she turned around only to have her kurti's button broken. In an attempt to cover herself, she had covered herself leaving him unable to get a glimpse of her face.

Remembering how she had pointed out his rude behaviour and the way he brushed her off, they were reminded of their first unpleasant interaction that they could remember. Little did they know, a few months back they would be missing each other. However as they remembered what had taken place the previous day, the tiny smiles that had begun to fade and he couldn't control the helplessness he felt on seeing the Tamil paper in his hand. It belonged in his home like she did. It because of one person, she was away from him and her own home.

Bin poochhe, mile mujhe, kitne saare jawaab
Chaaha tha kya, paaya hai kya, humne dekhiye

Without asking, I received so many answers!

Look at what I desired, and what, in turn, I received.

"The Tamil paper is supposed to be in that house." He rudely told the newspaper boy unable to take the frustration he felt on the whole situation.

"But Bhabhiji-"

"Just do as you are told. The Tamil paper to the Iyer house and the Business paper to the Bhalla house."

As the newspaper boy left confused handing them their respective papers, she kept looking at him in disbelief and tears. In one instant, he killed the little hope she had in the Bhalla family, especially him. She felt disgusted by him for behaving in such a way and not once trying to clarify what had happened. She felt disgust on herself for trusting him to do something when he seemed to blame her as well and thought that he also wanted him out of her life and home as he didn't even want one newspaper in his home. Little did she knew, he was only taking out the anger he felt on his inability to bring her back home at the moment.

But not saying a word and only giving him the same broken, hurt and tearful look she had given him as she had been pulled away from him yesterday, she turned around to walk back into the home that was her only home since her own husband didn't want her to return to the house she had made her own in the past few months.

As he saw her leaving, he couldn't take it anymore. All he did was take out his frustration that had been pent up since the moment he sawher behind bars, but he had gone wrong like everything in their lievs seemed to be going. She had misunderstood his anger towards the miscommunication on the paper. He chided himself for messing up once again and making her believe that he also thought she was wrong. He didn't know what else to do, and knew she was hurt way too much. He couldn't let her go on in pain any longer since it was putting him in more pain than anyone else. And now he knew it was time to let her know that she wasn't alone, she never was and she never would be as long as he was living.

Dil mein magar, jalte rahe, chaahat ke diye

Tere liye, tere liye

But in my heart, the lamp of love continues to burn

for your sake, for your sake

"Ishita." Her heart skipped a beat. Her name, his voice...it was like a rainfall in a drought.

She turned around immediately and found him looked at her with tears filling his eyes. She was taken back for a moment as she saw him on the verge on crying. Her eyes filled instantaneously seeing him in tears. She didn't know what made him so upset, but she didn't like it at all. But then her heart filled, was her crying for her? She looked closely at him, he had guilt on his face, was he feeling bad about what happened? Her heartbeats quickened as she began to hope again.

As he stepped forward, she took another step forward knowing her ears hadn't been ringing and he had really called her. But as she took another step, he went ahead to get rid of the distance between them, but suddenly it seemed like he had a though and stopped. She felt like crying again and walking away from him for playing with her emotions especially after all she had gone through the previous day.

But then he quickly signaled her to come. Confused she didn't know what to do, but as he assured her with her eyes. With the same assurance and authority she had been dying to see yesterday, she followed him believing she had been right in understanding him. She had been right in knowing that he would be with her.

Kya kahoon, duniya ne kiya, mujh se kaisa bair

Hukam tha, main jiyun, lekin tere baghair

What can I say? The world has shown such ill-will to me.

I'm commanded to live life, but without you.

Leading her to the storeroom, he signalled her to go in. As soon as she got in, he turned on the light for her and closed the door behind them so no one would see them together. As she turn around, she found him in tears looking at her and standing still in her spot, she watched him come closer and cover the distance he had left previously.

Coming even closer to her, he came closer making them closer than they had ever been. Not knowing where to start, he knew she had been strong but needed someone to cry out to. So wanting to be that person and not let anyone else be the support her husband needed her to be, he reached over and held her hand. But the moment his hand met hers, she pulled it back scared of the touch.

"Raman!" She called out his name like she had when Param tried to assault her and he broke. She felt horrible for making him feel like his touches were like the ones of Param, but it wasn't in her control. She was scared of anyone and everyone.

She was brought out of her thoughts as he let out a cry and soon she had begun to cry letting out her tears. He didn't know what to do or how to make her feel any better. She had gone through a hell that many women were terrified of and tried to act strong. But it took one touch of a man to break her and remind her of what she had gone through.

But he wouldn't let her break. He wouldn't let that man's touches make her live in fear. So holding her arm, he pulled her closer and put his arms around her taking her into a hug. She felt taken back and scared for a moment as he touched her. But he kept a firm grip on her not letting her part away, yet still not overwhelming her and reminding her of what had happened with her.

At first, she hesitated having never hugged him for anyone except Ruhi. But as she continued to cry and he only soothed her by telling her it was okay and rubbed her back thought crying himself, she had to let her stiff body loose. And before she knew it, she had wrapped her arms around her. Crying on each other's shoulders, they let out every pain, every hurt, every longing in their short separation in their tears and in each other's embrace.

Staying in the hug until they had cried every last tear in their eyes, not aware of all the time that had passed in the other's embrace, they didn't want let go. She closed her eyes resting on his shoulder while he continued to rub her back giving her encourage words which she didn't want as she just wanted to be in his arms. She really did want to stay in Ravan Kumar's arms for some reason. Maybe because she had found comfort in his arms, she had found belonging in his arms... she had found herself a haven in Raman's arms.

Meanwhile, he felt no different. It felt perfect, it felt right. Until now nothing had ever felt so right in his life. But now as the woman who he couldn't tolerate a while back was in his arms, nothing ever felt any better. She was meant to be like this, she was meant to be in peace like she was now, he was meant to hide her from the world, he was meant to protect her, he was meant to have his wife, his Jhansi Ki Rani in his arms. But as they had to part from the hug hearing someone try to open the locked storeroom, he took the few moments they had left to apologize for what she had gone through and his lack of open support...

"I'm sorry Ishita." He looked down while she held his hand making him smile for a moment that she herself held his hand and wasn't scared of his touch at least.

"Don't be, just stay with me." He cupped her face as she leaned forward touching her forehead with his.

"Do you trust me?" He whispered trying to control his tears.

"I always did..." She let a tear fall and he moved back wiping it off his with his thumb as he promised her.

"Then it's my promise that I myself will take you back to our home." He said with a determination in his voice and anger in his voice which she for once didn't want to stop. She felt an unknown happiness in her that he was angry towards the people who hurt her. And unable to say anything overwhelmed with emotions, she only held his hands as she told him with a smile...

"I will be waiting for you."

Naadaan hai woh, kehte hain jo, mere liye tum ho ghair
Kitne sitam, humpe sanam, logon ne kiye

How ignorant they are, who say you are a stranger to me.

How many wrongs we have been done, my love!

Hearing more knocking on the door of the storeroom and someone calling the watchman for a spare key, he asked her to quickly leave after him since he couldn't let Param see them together as it was a part of his plan. On the mention of a plan, she looked at him confused while he explained everything he had been thinking of doing, his silence and why he wanted her to stay with her parents until he sorted everything.

"But why Raman?" She asked him with teary eyes unable to believe that someone really cared for her. Turning around, he looked at her confused not understanding what she was asking him.

"Why do you want to take me back? Why do you want Ruhi's mother back?" He looked at her dumbfounded unable to realize how many different feelings he had begun to feel for her. But as he remembered her words to her, he knew exactly how to tell her what he was feeling.

"For the same reason you will be waiting for Ruhi's Papa." He smiled at her while she pressed his hands.

"We've stayed away from each other because of a criminal and I won't let that go on." He cupped her face before he pulled her into a hug once again wanting to make up for all that they had lost due to Param.

"You would do all this for me? A no one?" She questioned her position in his life while he couldn't hide anything from her or himself. She meant more than Ruhi's mother, she was his wife and she needed to know this right now over any other time.

"I will fight the world for my wife's self-respect." He tightened his grip on her while she cherished his embrace once again before they had to part under the fear of getting caught. Walking out, he told her that he would prove her innocent while she only nodded believing in him.

Dil mein magar, jalte rahe, chaahat ke diye

Tere liye, tere liye

But in my heart, the lamp of love continues to burn

for your sake, for your sake

That Evening

He had fulfilled his promised, she smiled at him as he gave her an assuring look while the police took Param into their custody with everyone apologizing to her. As she told everyone that she wasn't upset, but needed time to deal with everything, he asked everyone to let her rest. As her mother came forward to take her home, he rushed by her side immediately. Holding her shoulders, he pulled her a bit closer to him...

"Ishita and I are going to our room. She needs rest after everything and time alone." He announced and Amma took a step back when she saw Raman holding onto her tightly and Ishita smiling at him. Her daughter had smiled for the first time after everything and she knew that she could trust Raman with her.

Getting a smile from his mother-in-law, he pressed her shoulders as he signalled her to go. Taking slow steps with her, he walked her to their room. Entering the room, she took a deep sigh at the entrance. As she looked at the vanity in front of her, she moved back crashing her back into him. Knowing from her words that this was where he had hurt his wife, he kept his hands back on her shoulders and made her walk to the front of the vanity. As she stood in front of the mirror, he held her hand tightly intertwining their fingers.

"I am right here. And I will never let anyone do anything to you." He pulled her closer with his free hand and she kept her head on her chest closing her eyes as she cried her pain on remembering everything, the way he had touched her, the way he wouldn't let go, the way he tried to molest her.

"He can't hurt you anymore." He soothed her as he couldn't see her disturbed expression even with her eyes closed. Clutching onto his shirt tightly wanting to erase the horrid memories, she felt him rub her arm as he asked her to cry and let out the burden she felt.

"I feel dirty."

"He is the dirty one! Not you." He said with anger towards Param.

"But he touched me...Raman he..." She couldn't continue further as she cried.

"Shhh...you're not dirty. You are a pure soul and that's all that matters." He leaned over and kissed her hair making her sobs turn into whimpers before she calmed down after staying in his embrace for a few minutes. As she calmed down, she felt her head throbbing as she had skipped dinner and breakfast and the emotional turmoil she had face in the past 48 hours only added onto the pain.

"I just want to rest." He let go of her and parted back. Moving the few strand of hair away from her face, he asked her to go sleep knowing her condition very well. Nodding she turned towards the couch to sleep when he called from behind.

"Where are you going?" She turned around confused while he moved her blanket from the couch to his...their bed. Moving his pillow to the side, he placed her pillow on the other side before he looked back at her. She felt tears brimming her eyes while he smiled at her.

"We sleep here...if you're okay with it." He asked her to sleep on the same bed while she didn't know how she felt. Knowing everything she had gone, he knew it would be easy for her and taking a few cushions, he placed a few in between the pillows. Pointing out the new setting, he asked her again and she only nodded.

Taking his side on the bed, he covered himself with his blanket while she also lay down. Quickly getting up before she could, he unfolded her blanket and covered her with it before he sat up in bed. Looking up at him confused, she was about to question when he asked him to close her eyes.

Doing as he said, she closed her eyes and he began to pat her head. Feeling her headache become lighter, relaxed onto the bed and turned towards him snuggling into the blanket. He watched her sleep like a child cuddling closer to him and unknowingly he lay down next to her and fell asleep watching her as if it was what he did every day, as if it was everything he needed...

Tere liye, hum hain jiye, honton ko siye

Tere liye, hum hain jiye, har aansoo piye

For your sake, I live with my lips sealed.

For your sake, I live, swallowing all my tears.

"No! Let go of me!" He was woken by loud yelling. Sitting up immediately, he turned to his side and found her crying her sleep and fanatically moving her hands in the air as if hitting something. He quickly made her sit up in her sleeping state and held her closer to him. Feeling his touch she calmed a bit, but still tried to pull away from him.

"Ishita! No Ishita, he won't do anything." He cuddled her closer to him and felt her trembling under him.

"Raman!" She clutched onto his shirt crumpling it trying to hold onto him as tightly as she could.

"I'm here, I'm here." He rocked her back and forth while she put her arms around her.

"Raman...he...Simmi..." She mumbled.

"I won't let anything happen."

He tried to hold back his tears while she slowly opened her eyes. Looking up at him, she saw him looking at her with tears in his eyes. Moving back a bit back, her eyes feel on his bare chest that showed due the the few open buttons of his shirt and found it red as if someone hit him. Holding his hand scared she might have hurt him further, she only managed to whisper...

"I'm sorry." He shook his head as he managed to tell her what was on his mind for the whole day...

"No I'm sorry. I was the one who should be sorry. I failed Ishita. I am your husband, it's my duty to protect you. I wedded you and brought you into this house, but have I ever behaved like a husband? I have treated you the way you deserved to be treated. I have only made things worse, and even this time I couldn't do anything for you. I failed as a husband Ishita, I failed you."

Dil mein magar, jalte rahe, chaahat ke diye

Tere liye, tere liye

Tere liye, tere liye

But in my heart, the lamp of love continues to burn

for your sake, for your sake

for your sake, for your sake

She shook her head wiping off his tears and pulled him into a hug realizing that nothing had been easy for him either in the past two days of their lives.

"You're a great husband Raman." She caressed his cheek while he kept her close to him unable to let go scared of her getting hurt again.

"I promise I will never let anything happen to you again! And this time it's not for anyone else. Not Ruhi ke liye, not mere liye, sirf tere liye..."

Staying in their hug, they lay back down on the bed as she threw the cushion on the floor and lay down on his arm which played the perfect pillow to her while his embrace was just the blanket she needed. Closing their eyes staying close in their hug as if they did the same every day, they slowly drifted off to sleep with a content heart and mind.

What happened with her, with them should haven't happened. But it had all ended well. She had gone from becoming his daughter's mother to his wife while he was no longer Ruhi's father, but her husband. It was true that they couldn't stop arguing and they would probably never get along, but they also couldn't ever stay away from each other. They were imperfectly imperfect in their own way and now they had begun to love the same...
