"ok so Nandini...we can't just tell you everything...like ainvayi..you know! There's a series of events that been happening lately or have happened... in the past 10 years...and this clearly, literally took a toll over all our lives!" Navya announced.
"yeahh...I understand guys...10 years is a damn long time...so plzz na, ab suspense mat create karo. Jaldi bataaoo na!!!" Nandini whined like a child.
"ok, to begin with...the year you left...
Manik and all of us got together the same time. Isn't it?" Dhruv said pointing out to Manik. "yeah! Actually, a few days later... I guess!" Manik spoke this time. "actually Nandini, our Manik had finally realised what as**oles his so called bestfriends were!" Cabir added and everyone chuckled.
"I'm really sorry on their behalf, guys...seriously I never knew what they had been doing behind my back because in front of me they were completely different. And am not kidding about that!" Manik spoke seriously and all eyes diverted to Nandini while she held her gaze down at the hem of her dress.
"Nandini... I understand that this'll be really awkward between us because we had been detached for an even longer period...but it was only these guys *pointing to all other friends* who actually brought me to terms that how badly and creepily those idiots behaved. I only knew about their condescending nature when I had actually confronted them. Those people had a really, really cheap mindset."
The atmosphere had suddenly changed to a serious one leaving behind all the enthu. "umm...guys, won't you guys continue? I mean come on man, am not really a part of this group...but I wanna be one." Ryan said to continue with the conversation instead of heating up the environment. "Fast fast,... before the godfather calls!" he said it like a whisper saving himself from Nandini... But alas! Badluck! Nandini punched him in the arm as he winced making everyone else chuckle.
"itni stupid and illogical rumours toh media bhi nhi phelati jitna vo log karte the! Seriously!" and again a round of chuckle on Cabir's comment.
"achha aage...?"
"haan...toh then all of us started hanging out together. Had good times at school, Nandini!" Mukti explained. "practically, nothing messy happened at school after that. It was pretty smooth. And we were able manage those maniacs!! But...we utterly missed your presence with us Nandini." Abhi continued.
"par Nandini, tum chod kar gyi kyon thi??" Navya asked glumly. "there has to be a reason, kyunki main nhi manti ki tumhara long term ke liye abroad jaane ka plan suddenly bana tha. There's a catch and I want to know, right now in front of everybody!"
"I am extremely sorry guys, maine pehle bhi bola tha. Main yeh krna nhi chahti thi par...actually, you guys know, daddy's a scientist. Unko project mila tha jiske research work ke liye unhe wahan shift kiya gya tha... Aur iss kaam ki koi guarantee nhi thi ki kitna time lagega. It could just have taken few months or even years to complete the project... Papa understood ki main nhi jaana chahti thi unke saath and he was completely fine with it. So he made a provision for my stay at a hostel.
Unhone kabhi apne mooh se express nhi kiya tha... but I knew he was not comfortable leaving me back here alone. I could understand his feelings. Meri hostel mein shifting saari taiyaari bhi ho chuki thi until us din, after our little rendezvous in the class. I had to leave because I was not feeling well..." saying the last line she glanced at Manik, who was looking at her with nothing but guilt in his eyes.
Flashback in Nandini's POV.
...I have to go ab main yahan aur nhi reh sakti.
I rushed to the sickbay.
"excuse me ma'am, I am not really feeling well. I'm feeling too dizzy and with this headache, I don't think I'll be able to attend my classes. Can I plzz call my father..?"
"sure dear."

"what...umm...I mean, are you sure darling. Look beta, you don't have to force yourself for me...I'll come every month to meet you. I promise. I understand your feelings towards your friends and I don't wanna force you." he said with lot of concern and love. I was a stupid to let him go...I wanna be with him. I wanna be with my solace.
"am not forcing myself, daddy. I love you guys...and I wanna stay with you. And I'll cope up with my studies, wherever we go. Its just that I don't wanna stay away from you. Please."
"ok bacha... If that's what you want."

"go head beta, unko sab kuchh bata do. Don't hurt the people who actually love you." I got the assurance from mommy. She's the mother after all, nothing can be hidden from her.
I called Mukti few times, I even messaged her about the urgency of the moment...but she did not reply.
Damn it!! This was the only thing I didn't wish for at the moment.

"Guys, I'm sorry for all this. Maine bohot try kiya tumse yeh baat share karne ki...par main khud hi confuse thi, tum logon ko kya kehti. I'm sorry.. But plzz don't be angry with me. " Nandini explained everything.
"it's ok meri jaan-e-mann. Hum tum par kabhi gussa nhi the... Haan bura laga ki tum chali gyi aur hume bataaya bhi nhi...par samajh gye the ki kuchh imp hi hoga warna humari baby doll aisa kabhi nhi karti." mukti consoled her with a smile.
"ok guys, now our turn...!!!" Alya anounced. "so, after passing school, all of us, together joined SPACE. And that was the beginning of FAB 5!!!"
"so guys, presenting...the one and only... fab 5!!!!! Woohhooww!" Abhi and Navya announced together and started clapping while the fab 5 bowed down in a thanking manner. All laughed except the two.
Not getting any reaction, the 7 glanced at the couple who had completely enlivened expressions!!
"what happened guys?"
Nandini (confused) - fab 5?
Ryan (shocked) - you...are...fab 5??!!
Nandini (confused at Ryan) - you know fab 5?
Navya - you know fab 5?
Alya (excited) - you know us?
Nandini (confused) - know who?
Mukti (irritated) - you don't know us?
Nandini - ofcourse I know you!'
Mukti (irritated) - then why u behaving as if you don't know fab 5? '
Nandini (innocently) - because I don't know fab 5!
Ryan (smiling) - but I know fab 5!
Nandini (angry) - hold on... How do you know fab 5 when I don't?
Ryan (innocently) - because I know them Nandini!
Nandini - obviously you know them because they're my friends and you know my friends!
Ryan - so, that's what am telling Nandini, I know them!
Nandini (angrier) - so how do you know fab 5???!!!
Alya (irritated) - that's exactly what he's saying Nandini, he knows us!
Nandini (angrier) - then why don't I know fab 5 if I know you! why did you not tell me Ryan??
Ryan (innocently) - because I didn't know them Nandini.
Nandini/Mukti (shocked) - but you said you know fab 5!

Navya (confused) - but you...

A loud roar enveloped the whole house.
All glanced up at a totally red with anger Cabir followed by annoyed expressions from Dhruv, Abhi and Manik.
"kya yaar guys...seedha seedha bolo na. We are a band of 5 musicians, hence... Fab 5! We are famous in India, though we haven't performed internationally but we do have fans and followers from abroad." Dhruv explained calmly.
"exactly! One of our colleagues made me listen to your songs...and I pretty much liked them! But I never mentioned that to Nandini because the thought never crossed my mind again." and Ryan explained his part of story.
"kya yaar...choti si simple si baat ka kachumbar bana ke rakh diya! Huh!" Cabir was seriously pissed at the whole conversation.
"chalo guys, continue!"
"haan, toh then we became famous gradually, cut quite a few albums at a very initial stage. But Manik also had his family business to take care of, so things changed with time." dhruv narrated follwed by Mukti "so, these 4 guys took up business and all, and they jointly handle all the business and stuff while in the mean time we take care of the kids at the 'little hearts ' ' orphanage.
"awww, am so proud of you my ladies!" Nandini praised. " I really wanna visit that someday! Ok?!"
"yeah!" came the reply.
" ok so the next and my most favorite... is that our Manik has his 3 baby girlfriends!! Isn't that cool Nandini?" Navya spoke with her words laced with exuberance.
"very...but who are those 3, haan?"
"right in front of you baby doll...flaunting themselves, these three are Manik's baby GFs." abhi spoke in an uninterested tone.
"why so gloomy, Abhi ?" Nandini asked.
"obviously Nandini, what else do you expect. We only don't get enough time to spend with our respective GFs because this idiot sitting here has taken all the rights away. Hum toh sirf facebook par, relationship status mein naam daalne ke liye imp hai baaki toh, sab kuchh Manik hi hai na! Arre humein toh sirf officially boyfriend rakha hai...duniya ko dikhane ke liye otherwise toh Manik hi hai...inka sab kuchh. Bas uss relationship ko public nhi kar sakte kyunki The Manik Malhotra ki image kharaab ho jayegi! Bada dukh hota hai Nandini, bada dukh!" -- Cabir and his drama.
"shut up, idiot! Manik hi toh hai jo humara dhyan rakhta hai...humein shopping par lejata hai...humein ghumata hai. You toh are completely useless." Navya defended Manik.
In the mean time, both Manik and Nandini passed amusing smiles to each other when finally Nandini spoke.."Don't worry my three musketeers, my sympathies are with you...and manik, good improvement haan! Soha se seedha teen teen..." and the words were left unspoken.
Nandini and Manik gave each other nervous expressions while all the others glanced at Nandini with confusion on their faces.
"ek min...Nandini, as far as I remember... Manik ne toh apne aur soha ke relationship ko public kiya tha after you had already left...! So how do you know?? About all the relationship thing ??" Mukti posed the question and now the duo were stuck...
