Chapter 22
Teary eyed taani stepped out of the dean's office, with suspension letter in her hands, she was suspended from the college without any fault of hers. Dean suspended her for some unknown reasons, but she knew its because of Rey's father and Sharon's father who are college's trustees.
On her way, she met nandini who royally ignored her, taani knew now her family knows about her & rey's relation. She wasn't shocked seeing nandini's hatred filled eyes in the morning. But once, for her heart's satisfaction, she moved toward her, to talk to her.
"Nandini-"
"Don't. Don't you even dare to take my name from you filthy mouth. I trusted you, i thought of you to be my sister but what you did? You broke my family. I can't believe an innocent looking girl like you can be so cunning, you slept with my married brother for money. Chi-" Nandini spoke in venom dripping tone, her every word made taani feel low of herself. Pierced her heart with sharp pain as her cruel words sinked in.
"Don't you ever dare to talk to me again, I regret making a lowlife like you my friend. Don't ever show me your face, I have no interest in talking to my brother's keep." Nandini spat harshly and walked away from there, leaving a broken taani behind. She turned around and walked away from there, all the accusations were too much for her innocent heart to bear. She come out of the college premises, she thought of calling him but then changed her mind, not wanting to worry him unnecessarily. Absentmindedly, she caught an auto and left for her house.
Reaching penthouse, she rang the door bell and waited for him to open the door. After some moment, the door was opened by him. His brows knitted in confusion seeing her back so early, but worry took over him when he noticed her red puffy eyes.
"Kitty? What happen? Did someone said something to you in college?" Rey panicked, he was worried for her. Holding her elbow in gentle grip he brought her inside and closed the door. He made her look at him, her eyes brimmed with fresh tears seeing him.
"They suspended me from college-" Taani mumbled, trying her hardest to not to break down infront of him. His eyes widen in shock, he was confused but then, realization dawned upon him, knowing it must be sharon's father and his father.
"Damn! I should have known sharon's father won't sit quietly after knowing about all this, but i still can't believe he is taking revenge from you and my father is with him." Rey mumbled while cursing his fate. He look at her and realized she needed his support. He scooped her in his arms and took her inside their bedroom. He made her sit on the bed and gave her a glass of water.
"Thank you." Taani whispered, she took few sip from the glass then kept it back on the table. Rey sat beside her and hugged her side ways. Taani rested her head on his shoulder, feeling too weak, emotionally and physically.
"I'm sorry." Rey mumbled, feeling himself responsible for her state which made him feel miserably guilty.
"Its okay. I'll study from home like i used to, its not a big deal." Taani replied, making him guilty would be the last thing she wished for. Rey dropped a kiss on her head and hugged her tightly, he knew she might act strong infront of him, but inside she is breaking.
"Taani, i was thinking why don't we shift to some other city? How about pune?" Rey asked her, breaking the silence.
"Reyaansh! We can't run away from our problems. Shifting to another city won't solve our problems." Taani said to him.
"Taani, I'm not saying this because i want to escape from the problems. I am saying this, because i really want to move away from here for a while and start a new life with you. And also, i am starting my construction company in pune soon." Rey explained her everything truthfully. Taani was in deep thinking, a part of her too wanted this while other thinks it will create more problems between him and his family.
"It will create more distance between you and your family. They will get more angry with you-"
"I don't care. I just need to get my life back on track nothing else. We both know that I'm a selfish bas***d when it comes to you. So, stop being a dumb selfless ekta kapoor type of bahu and come with me." Rey said to her, taani sighed heavily and nodded, knowing he had already made his mind.
"When will we be leaving for pune?" Taani asked him.
"After few days. I have bought a house there, its not a big house though-"
"It doesn't matter. I just want you by my side, house and how big or small it is doesn't matter to me. I just need you, some chocolates and some decent clothes to live, nothing else matter And don't forget before meeting you, i was just an ordinary middle class girl living in a small house with her step-brother. I'm not used to having such luxury nor i crave for it. I am happy with what i have." Taani cut him off in the middle and said to him. Rey smiled hearing her.
"You were wrong about her, dad." He thought to himself, remembering his father's words about his taani.
"You won't regret coming with me. You will get everything you deserve, everything that a princess deserve." Rey said to her, looking at her with lots of adoration in his eyes.
"That i know. You are the best, and stop talking like we have got bankrupt. We still have so much money to live a respectful life." Taani said to him, Rey shook his head at her antics.
"Yeah right. But i have to think about future too. We can't spend our whole life on what we have-"
"Yeah! Yeah! I understand, Mr. philosophical singhania." Taani narrowed her eyes, Rey let out a chuckle.
"Lets go out for lunch." Rey suggested, taani nodded, she wanted divert her mind from all the pain she had bottled up inside her. Rey smiled, they got ready and went out for a peaceful lunch.

"Manik, i have talked to taani and we have decided, we will shift to pune." Rey told manik, both were seated in the hall talking while taani was in kitchen, preparing dinner.
"Thats good, dude. Tumhe aur taani ko ek new environment milaga away from all the tension and negativity."
"Hows everyone at home?" Rey asked him, in low serious tone.
"Sharon has gone back to her house due to which all are sad." Manik told him, Rey nodded in response. He was happy finally things are falling into place, though it will hurt his family but it was needed.
"And what about your business plans?" Manik asked him.
"Work in progress. I'm in talk with some investors, let see where it lead to." Rey replied, since he was a well known name in the business market, it wasn't tough for him to get investors who are willing to invest in his company. Manik smiled, knowing he doesn't have to worry about him when it comes to business. He is best in it.
