This was a beautiful sentence by sumitra. If you look kausalya asks to leave it but sumitra speaks. Why.for kausalya as per society kaikeyi is dasrath wife.he has not banished her officially. So she has right to see her husband body.But for sumitra kaikeyi has no rights because dasrath banished her from his heart. And in a relation that is more important. Many people show fake relations for the sake of society. If you see people are surprised when divorces are heard after 10-15 years of marriage .fact would be these couple would have ceased to be couple's much before that.then they would be struggling to show society a face for some reason. Like daughter marriage. Kids education. Financial security etc. And then at some point it breaks. We think hus wife together with 2 kids happy family. Far from truth these days. Learn to do actions through which relation stays in heart. Because without that society approval means nothing

@jayashree people don't realize the one behind closed door is the real self.if we don't accept it it will spill over one day and wreck havoc which we are seeing in society today

I agree with your view point but somehow I am not able to digest how Sumitra is portrayed. This very sentence of Dahsharath abandoning Kaikeyi is actually Kaushalyas words.Kaushalya is the one who is supposed to be the most upset not Sumitra atleast not to the point where she shouts at her? Don't you think it's a little weird ? I have asked the same question in a different post not able to decipher this.

@Chandu I didn't find it weird. Because she is the wisest she said what she said. Instead of emotions look at the inner meaning of what she said. Sumitra always tells the right things indirectly. And kausalya I expected to accommodate and she did that. This is my pov. Fixed. Will not change. And I don't expect yours to change also. So let us stop discussing agreeing to disagree.
