Daddies' little superstars

Often we read about Star-dads and their star-sons. Courtesy rediff.com here are some star-daughters and their proud daddies.

Anil Kapoor-Sonam Kapoor Not many can boast of a oeuvre like Anil Kapoor's. Over a span of more than three decades, the versatile actor has delivered solid performances from Woh Kaun Thi, Ram Lakhan, Mr India, Tezaab, Parinda, Lamhe, Virasat, Taal and Pukar. He may look dashing enough to romance young stars like Bipasha Basu and Katrina Kaif. Off screen, he plays dad to 21-year-old Sonam.

Daddy Kapoor is now delighted to see his cherubic daughter work with the cream of the crop. Even as her Saawariya, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, co-starring Ranbir Kapoor, is all set to release, Sonam has signed on Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Delhi 6 opposite Abhishek Bachchan.

Clearly, one can expect a lot of promising things from this Rapunzel-haired beauty.

Dharmendra-Esha Deol

The He-Man of Bollywood made a long journey from Punjab to Mumbai to become one of the brightest stars of tinsel town.

Although his debut film Dil Bhi Tere Hum Bhi Tere was a bummer, his talent was widely recognised, even if underrated, over the years with films like Satyakam, Anupma, Seeta Aur Geeta, Sholay, and Chupke Chupke. At 70 plus, the warm actor is still going strong with delectable performances in Apne and Johnny Gaddar.

Daughter Esha, who entered films much to Garam Dharam's resentment, may not have had such luck yet. After being launched into movies with the eminently forgettable Koi Mere Dil Se Pooche, the sporty star kid had a hard time living up to expectations, before she struck gold with hits like Dhoom and Dus. Though with the failure of author-backed roles in Ajnabee and Darling, the Deol girl is still waiting for the second Dhoom of her career.

Rajesh Khanna-Twinkle and Rinkie Khanna

A raging romantic icon of the late sixties and early seventies, Rajesh Khanna may have faded into a life of obscurity.

But stories of the mass hysteria that the star of Anand, Amar Prem and Aradhana generated among the dreamy-eyed fairer sex, continue to awe and amaze.

Papa's little girls Twinkle and Rinkie, however, didn't ever experience the level of adulation as their father. While Twinkle enjoyed a big launch opposite Bobby Deol and a brief star-status with films like Jaan, Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai and Baadshah, Rinkie make did with modest appearances in Jhankaar Beats and Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai.

Randhir Kapoor-Karisma Kapur and Kareena Kapoor

Here the daughters outdid their daddy. Raj Kapoor's eldest son had a average run as an actor. His bouncy avatars in Jawaani Diwaani and Rampur Ka Lakshman met with some success, as did his turn as director in Kal Aaj Aur Kal wherein he roped grandfather (Prithviraj Kapoor), father (RK) and himself in a family drama about conflicting generations. His blue-eyed baby, Karisma worked with single-minded determination to reach the top spot as an actress with super successes like Coolie No 1, Raja Babu, Raja Hindustani and Dil To Pagal Hai.

The sensitive actress in Lolo got justice, as well, with well-etched roles in Zubeidaa and Fiza. Ditto for Kareena! Right from her sparkling debut in Refugee to the recently released Jab We Met, Bebo has enjoyed a favourable status among fans and filmmakers.

Yes. They did even after a dismal debut like Prem Qaidi (surprisingly the film was a hit) Karishma paved her way to stardom. Kareena was luckier to have found better directors.

sorry guys but I just couldn't take it!
why is there the daddies pic and not the momies?
thump up to Anil Kapoor, yes he is a great dad.

Why not the media print this????????????????????
*Hema Malini's pic with Esha.....
*Dimple Kabadia's pic with Twinkle & Rinke......
*Babita's pic with Karishma & Kareena......

I think the credit goes to their mom's not dad's.
Are we forgetting these single mom's hands are behind these little superstars??????????????????????????
A Male dominating society...so as the media.... 😡
