If you have just read the heading of my topic, you can very well understand my state of mind after watching Ronit's special interview on Saas Bahu Aur Saazish today 2-30 pm. I had switched on to Star News 15 minutes before in anticipation. The promos kept flashing- "Coming up- TV's biggest star- Ronit Roy", "Mr.Bajaj and Mihir Virani-meet them on this weekend special","Ronit Roy ki kahaani unhi ke zabaani" and I was going madder by the minute. And then my clock struck 2-30 and I went BESERK!!
Then there was Aatika giving Ronit's super-introduction--"Aur aaj jo hamare weekend guest hain, aaj unke paas karodo ki daulat hain,aseem shohrat hain. Aaj unke saath log kaam karne ke liye log betaab hain,par ek waqt aisa bhi tha jab unke paas koi naukri nahi thi. Aaj kaamyabi jiske kadam choom rahi hain,ek waqt aisa bhi tha jab yeh bina kisi kaam ke ghar pe baithe rahe..to aaiye ek mulaqat karte hain TV ke superstar se--yes,please welcome Ronit Bose Roy" (And I was like-AAAAAAHH!!)
Aatika- Ronit Roy...
Ronit- Ronit BOSE Roy
Aatika- Oh yes! Ronit Bose Roy, so how is that you manage to keep away from all the materalistic things in this world?
Ronit- I dont keep away from them..
Aatika- Is it because of some bitter experience experience of the past?
Ronit- I am very scared of materialistic gains in this world.They make me grow scared..they bring along a lot of trouble.
Aatika- I have always noticed that you never give un-necessary comments in the media. What would you call that? Maturity?
Ronit- I would not call this maturity. This is something my real father,not Subhash Ghai,has taught me that Son, never intimidate anyone by words..intimidate him by your work..and this is the policy I always follow.
Aatika- What a gr8 thought. Ok, very less people know that you consider Subhash Ghai as your father. Tell us more about him.
Ronit- You are absolutely right. Subhashji has taught me everything in life.He is my father.I have lived with him in his house for 5 years.
Then there was a segment for Rajeev's bday (Borrrrrrrring!!) and then again back to Ronit-
Aatika- You are from Ahmedabad.Were you born there?
Ronit- No.I was born in Nagpur (yeah!). But I have grown up in Ahmedabad.
Aatika- So how did you decide to become a hero?
Ronit- (laughs) umm..I had not decided anything.Even when I was at school,my chums used to say-"Mumbai ko chaleja! Hero ban jayega!"
Aatika- So what did you do in Mumbai?
Ronit- I came to Subhashji and I said- "Main hero ban-na chahta hoon"
I did not realize that thousands of people would be requesting the same thing from him. I never realized the strive required. Subhashji gave me a job at Sea Rock...currently ITC Sheraton
Aatika-(laughs)Yes yes!! Very few people know that you started working as a dish-washer...
Ronit- Yes..and I was very good at it too..even if you go to ITC today, there's my name as the best dish-washer.(laughs proudly)
Aatika- You always say that you should do your work 110% so that your boss thinks that you are underpaid..
Ronit- Yes that is another thing Subhashji has taught me..if a man is paid 100 ruppees for a job,he should always do his job's worth of 10% more.
Then there was AGAIN a segment on Rajeev and then again back to Ronit-
Aatika- Your first film was Jaan Tere Naam. Tell us what happened after that...
Ronit- Yes, that was my first film and what happened afterwards was entirely my mistake.I wanted success,I got it..but I could not handle it.When JTN was released, for 3 months,I did not get a single call. And when the calls started coming in, I was so insecure about myself that I did not say no to anyone...and I ended up signing 40 films.
Aatika-Tell us about your daughters...
Ronit- Ona is 14 years old. I have to tell you that my life has come a complete circle twice.When JTN was released,I had married and I had a daughter-Ona. This time around,the same thing has happened. I would just say that this has been a happier circle.
Aatika- What has been your most satisfying experience?
Ronit- My daughters. Whenever I look at Aadore, I see a small angel..and i get the ultimate kick out of that...
Aatika- Ona had flown to India recently?
Ronit- Yes,she was there with us in August when Aadore was born in May
Aatika-Is there any possibilty of her staying with you?
Ronit- Aatika ji,some things are just not possible. In this case,it's not just her..it concerns her mother who has been a fantastic mom all these years..I really will not have ANY say in it
Aatika- Tell us something about Neelam.
Ronit- We got married in 2003 December 25. She is an ideal woman. I surely must have done something good to get a wife like her.
Aatika- Ok between Mihir and Rishabh Bajaj, which one is more closer to your heart?
Ronit- (smiles) Hmmm..when I took up Mihir,he was already an icon.Rishabh Bajaj is my creation and I take full pride in it..the underdog..so-Rishabh Bajaj...

They kept showing behind-the-scene shots of Ronit both as Rishabh and Mihir...and he was looking so hunky..gr888!!! Loveeeed him through and through!!
