Hi all,
This week Smita's song 'Karle Pyar' triggered off some old memories..Remember Asha pointed out a mistake in this song to one of the C2007 contestant in the early episodes( I don't remember who she was)..It was in the antara, 'Aa me tujhe batla doon' where in the 2nd variation, between 'Aa' and 'me' there is supposed to be an extra beat. Smita also did that mistake but Sonu and Suresh ji couldn't notice..I do not blame them but I feel it is natural for male singers to relate more easily to male songs, but when it comes to a female song, a female singer would definitely be a better judge..If we take Alka for instance, I remember she used to vividly remember the variations in Lata's songs and point out the mistakes aptly..I feel it would have been really good if they had included some female mentor also..

Ah good memory. I saw a thread where Cutiepie Rani from USA wanted to sing the SRGMP 2008. And someone commented "Hope you can sing better than Mauli"😆

Its not about that mistake..Even in Lil champs last year, Alka pointed out Neha's mistake in the song 'Ruk ja raat' though it was a Lata song and the mistakes were infact unnoticeable. But anyone who has attempted to sing the song in any contest/show wud hv definitely noticed the mistakes. That is why the presence of a female mentor is necessary cuz any of the present female playback singers can very well know the accuracy of Lata/Asha's songs as they would have definitely sung those songs when they were young.

Even without out a female mentor, the ladies were killed like flies in SRGMP 2007. But yes a sharp lady mentor would be good.

Looks like Zaara wants to volunteer. Then Tanmay would be champion.😉
