Alya squeeled as loud as she could while all the others let out soft chuckles.
Alya: we missed you so much dear!
Nandini: I missed you too guys. A lot.!
She said with moist eyes depicting the longing in her eyes for her friends, her second family.
Navya: jhooth! Sab jhooth! Agar tum humse pyaar karti aur humein thoda sa bhi miss kiya hota na toh duniya ke kisi bhi kone se wapas aa jati par aisa kuchh hua nhi.
Abhi: bilkul correct Navya! Humari baby doll humse bohot pyaar krti thi aur we had promised her ki we all will be together no matter what! Aur pata hai vo aaj bhi humare saath h, humare dil mein. Tum toh Nandini ho, humari baby doll nhi!!!
He said all this in a mocking tone but he was unaware that this wrenched Nandini's heart with so much guilt.
Nandini: I am...so...sorry guys! I never wished to do that but...
Her voice choked and nothing but few drops came out of her lovely eyes.
Mukti: arre arre, meri jaan-e-mann!! Itne mote mote aansu!! Haaww!! Hum sirf mazak kar rhe the! Tum aaj bhi humari baby doll ho aur humesha rahogi.
Dhruv: haan Nandini! Don't you worry. You are always in our hearts and we are equally happy to have you back. Yeh toh gadha hai! Kuchh bhi bol deta hai.
Saying this Dhruv smacked at Abhi's head and everybody laughed at this.
Even Nandini smiled between her tears.
Nandini: am sorry guys!! Main aisa kabhi karna nhi chahti thi but amma appa ke saath jana pada. Mukti, maine tumhe contact bhi kiya tha jaane se pehle but shayad tum busy thi isliye tumne call pick nhi kiya so I had no other option but to leave without meeting you guys.
Mukti: even am sorry for not picking up your call that day sweetie!! I remember, kaafi der baad jab maine phone uthaya tha toh teri missed calls aayi thi. I called you back, but your phone was switched off. I'm sorry!!
Nandini: it's ok Mukti!!... Wait, now where is Cabir???
Everybody looked around but couldn't find him.
Navya: arre abhi toh yahi tha.
Even Nandini looked around and found him moving towards the washroom.
Nandini: guys wait here and keep this stuff with you. I'll be right back!
She rushed as fast as she could and reached Cabir before he could enter the washroom.
Nandini: apni behen ko hug nhi karoge Cabir?!
As soon as he heard this he turned around and found her standing a little far and panting heavily as if she has been running alot.
Nandini: itni jaldi bhool gaye mujhe?? Bolo.
Cabir: tu the one and only piece hai meri life mein jise main bhool nhi sakta.
They both smiled and hugged each other very tightly.
Nandini: I missed you Cabir!
Cabir: I missed you too meri baby doll!
Nandini felt something wet on her shoulder and realised that Cabir was crying. She broke apart and looked at him and gently wiped his tears indicating a NO while he smiled.
Nandini: tum mujhse bhaag rhe the?! And even if you were, sorry to burst your bubble sweetest brother, but you can't! Chalo ab sab wait kar rhe hain.
Cabir: haan meri maa! Chal ab.
They both chuckled and moved back to their friends.
Nandini: so guys... Its getting late now, I need to rush!
She said while picking up her stuff.
Cabir: but abhi toh humne theek se baat bhi nhi kari!
Nandini averted her gaze to her friends and found all of them making cute little pouts! The pleading ones.
Nandini: you guys are too cute! Really!!! But sorry, I have to go now!! Actually I have an idea. Why don't you guys join me for dinner??!!...tonight!! At my place! You know, we can sit together and chat and remince our golden days.!! What say?
Alya: yaa Nandini, that's a pretty good idea.!! Moreover we have no plans for tonight. Haina guys??
She asked for affirmation of her friends.
Abhi: totally cool. Vaise bhi we are 24X7 party freaks!!! We are always ready.
Evrybody laughed on this.
Nandini: okie dokie!!!...
Cabir: aloo pokie!!!
Amd he poked her nose, just like old days and everybody again burst into laughter and Nandini just made a cute pout
Nandini: anyways leave this idiot and hear me out. So we are meeting at 8 at my place, you guys remember na??... My old house. I am currently staying there only. And also, I want you guys to meet somebody, whom I've brought along with me from NY.
Mukti: ohhh! That reminds me that even we have somebody with us, someone special whom we want you to meet.!!
Nandini: ohh that's gr88. Then will meet in the evening!! Bye guys!!! Muah!! Everybody!!
She give a big flying to all and ran away with her stuff.
All: Byee baby doll!! '
Dhruv: Mukti tumne use Manik ke baare mein kyun nhi bataya???
Mukti: guys don't you think dono ke liye ye ek bohot memorable moment hoga, when finally they'll be face to face after soo many years??!!
Navya: I agree with you Mukti! Khair ab Manik ko dhoondo!! Where is he??

ohh shit!!! Ryan kabse wait kar rha hoga!! I need to rush...aaahhh!
Nooo not again, not another bump!!!! Hey but wait, where is the floor? Am I flying or what?? Main giri kyun nhi?
Aur...wait, somebody is holding me there. Holding at the small of mah back!! Okiieee so that somebody just saved me!! What a Superhero!
Offo! Stupid Nandini! Apni bakwaas band karo and just look up.
I slowly opened my eyes and looked up only to drown into the heavenly brown orbs of an enchanting face who was staring back into mine with equal intensity. Slowly, I examined all his facial features and it looked so familiar. Those brown eyes filled with longing and desperation, those black hair and that extremely fair skin!!
Wait...he's the same guy. The window guy from this morning!!!
Yes he's the one!! I can't be mistaken. Its him only. But why do I feel such a deep connection with him??? What is it???
Well, well, well dear Nandini! You should get out of his hold. His arms must be paining by now. But he is only the one who is staring back into me without even blinking!!

I wriggled and then we moved away with alot of awkwardness caging around.
Me: sorry...And thankyou! For...Saving me!
I said with a little difficulty and looked up and there, he was again staring back into me. What to do???
I nudged him a little, and he just snapped out of his dreamland!! It seemed that way!! Well I need to rush now.
Me:byee!
I said with a small smile and moved away picking up my stuff.
His face still reminds me of someone. It feels as if I know him since years.
Suddenly, a decade old encounter with Manik near the staircase of our school came crashing into my mind, when we had bumped into each other early morning and shared a similar intense eye lock.
Wait wait...Nandini give a break to the train of your thoughts...was this...was this...was he Ma... Man... Manik???
This question left me baffled and in a reflex I turned around to have a look at him, but he was nowhere around. I scanned my eyes all around, till every possible corner my sight could reach. But this guy was nowhere!!!
Don't know, if am overthinking. But I have a very strong feeling that it was Manik!!!!
My Manik...well is he really MINE???
