Well intimacy, even WITHOUT kissing, has been done in Bollywood for years.

Shahrukh is known as the king of romance and he's been married his entire career. If kissing is cheating, what about caressing or nuzzling his costars necks? Isn't that as intimate? What defines cheating? Kissing on lips, even if its a lip lock is cheating, but what about kissing down the neck? Which I think is MUCH more intimate.

The point is, as Saif pointed out once, they stopped kissing not coz it was cheating, but coz they felt really possessive of each other and didn't like watching each other kiss onscreen. Not coz of feeling insecure the partner may not be loyal, but more, not liking watching it onscreen.

But he also said that intimate scenes are very different than real life intimacy. There are some 20 odd people standing in the room, there's a guy standing over you with a clipper, there's a director getting you through the routine, almost like a choreography.

It's part of the reason he said the cons of doing intimate scenes with Kareena is that he felt really awkward and the lines between real and reel began to blur, but there were all these people watching. Wheras if its just a costar, you know it's not real and it's fake and ti's an act.

Would some men or women take advantage of it? I'm sure. But that boils down to their intentions. Coz Saif mentioned there's a way you hold a female costar even in intimate scenes. If you get too aggressive, she'll definitely notice the difference and feel odd.

If people kiss even for a movie, it is quite impossible to stop physical responses. Hey, some may enjoy it to. Perks of the job ? As long as they don't act on it off screen I don't think it is.

Well actors do feel...excited...when they "act" out these intimate scenes, male actors are given something to put on their private parts to cover or prevent...excitement.

And actually, majority of the crew leaves when an intimate scene is shot, only the director and a few people are present.

Stephen Amell, a popular actor on The Arrow, wrote on his blog that actors who say doing intimate scenes is uncomfortable or unenjoyable are lying and that it is in fact quite enjoyable. He's married with a daughter but has always been a very honest persona.

I think it depends on the context. The same person in fact may find intimate scenes easy or enjoyable in one movie and uncomfortable in the next, depending on a thousand factors.
