After yesterday's episode, today's episode was literally amazing and such a step up. I see that the TEI Team is savy with songs. If TEI was a musical, it would have topped the charts because of such amazing usage of songs in the scripts but it's a daily soap opera. Now I said in the episode where the MMS was revealed that the track wouldn't end until Kunj and Twinkle will join hands and that is exactly what is happening. I'm going to go in the episode scene by scene now;
The mirror is a symbol of reflection. In yesterday's episode, the mirror was used in the end to reflect Twinkle's feelings as she stood with her face towards Kunj while Kunj was hidden behind the curtain. The cinematography in this scene is so perfect because we see these two people who are not sure about what they feel about each other and are living under misunderstandings but then the air clears up and you can see the suppressed feelings come forward for both of these two. Twinkle was the first one to feel different about her feelings and she looked for the same feelings in Kunj. I loved how the curtains flew over just as she said "kyunki" and Kunj was standing in the same frame as her but it took one more wind to blow for them to separate. You can see the transition of their relationship and their questions with themselves and each other reflected and the subtly that follows through. None of them have verbally acknowledged and assured each other of their love but they have done so in last two days itself through their actions. I think the mirror depicts how both of them still need to work on the communication between them in order to take their relationship one step more forward.
I have talked a lot of trust in most of my posts because the main shadow cast over their Kunj and twinkle's marriage was of broken trust and such turmoil of emotions that nothing could fix it besides trust over each other. While unconsciously Twinkle still retained trust over Kunj, Kunj's trust over Twinkle and his growing friendship with Twinkle was completely shattered. he only stood next to twinkle after their marriage where he personally thought she was right. He refused to believe her during the honeymoon trip till after the boat incident and later on when he took the poison laced chocolates. His shattered trust has not yet healed completely because you could see the cracks in it getting deeper once more when twinkle remained quite to his outburst after she was almost raped in the lodge. Kung, however has chosen to ignore those aspects after Twinkle touched his feet. That moment has kept him up and made him think towards a different direction, ending up in his initiation of both of them trying to date each other.
One of the reason's why trust is so much important to Kunj is because he has repeatedly said that even though he is forced into the marriage, he genuinely wants to make the marriage work regardless of love being present in it or not. Not all married couple are soul mates but many manage to make their marriage work based on trust and communication. Two days are not enough to heal the cracks that formed over six months ago. I think that Kunj found it important to figure out Twinkle's feelings because he needed to know why she wants to have the marriage work.
>At first Twinkle only wanted to stay in the marriage to prove to her mother that she can actually be a good wife and daughter-in-law. However her motivation has changed since Maya stepped into their lives and Twinkle realized the changes in emotions that came with it.
I feel like I am being very abrupt here but what I want to say is that the mirror was a reflection of their feelings and there feelings have obviously progressed since their marriage and initial meeting but the motivation behind those feelings have also changed and it is important to know that if we are going to continue to root for Kunj and Twinkle. Kunj would have agreed to the marriage with Twinkle because he liked her and she wasn't interested in using him like Alisha did but one incident changed the whole turn of events for them. While mutual love can change a lot in their relationship as they continue to face obstacles, the need to build on trust and communication seems more apparent now then ever. I think it'll be interesting to see the development of that along with their growing feelings.
Next off was Kunj deciding to apologize and make up with Twinkle. Last time he talked to her picture, she wore a white dress. It reflected how he see her as a pure-hearted person who was throwing herself into a battle with the world that could crush her if she was not protected by him. This time, the picture had her dressed in yellow attire. Yellow is a color of happiness and optimism. In a week his feelings towards twinkle have changed. Her happiness is his happiness and thats what the reflection in the photo was of. He has started practicing his right over her not just as a husband but also as her lover. It was an adorable scene.
Walking forward I loved the whole scene of Twinkle sending Kunj back to the couch. The barrier between them is still strong. I like how during the whole scene the dialogues were apt and reflective. Kunj did not fail to mention that both of them treating each there without any prior baggage were the best days of both of their lives but I loved how it was Twinkle who brought out the reality and brushed the two days off. While the last two episodes were good episodes to figure out their feelings for each other and if they both stand on the same page, there lives cannot be spent role-playing. I also loved how Kunj was more confident in revealing how he felt about her smile. Before he had always brushed off anything related in particular with attraction part as something that cannot surface between them.
Cherry I think is filling the role of Surjeet along with himself. Before starting off again I just want to say I loved how all of the family members were utilized in this scene. Family plays a pivotal role in any relationship and since majority of us over here come from family-orientated backgrounds, scenes like such hold a beautiful attraction because it reminds us of the simplicity that flows between family members. I absolutely loved how Mama ji was first to walk towards the food and I loved Mami's reaction to it. Usha also seemed happy with the idea of everyone gathering to spent time together. TEI has such a strong and beautiful supporting cast and they should make sure to utilize it time and time again.
Starting off again with my rant, I absolutely loved how Yuvraj's bitterness was once again getting the best of him. I have repeatedly said that his obsession and anger are his biggest weaknesses and his personal weapons of his own self-destruction. Once a person is so deep in their own world of self-loathing and destruction, they are unable to enjoy anything in life for that matter. I love how Kunj replied to him to go in his own corner if he cannot let go of his bitterness. Yuvraj is such a powerful character and I am glad that with each episode, Zain is improving in terms of portraying him.
Coming towards Cherry. The Sarna household decisions are taken by Surjeet but the advisor, who has all the power over Surjeet is Bebe. Anita usually quips in too where she sees her benefit but the power house of the Sarna household is Bebe and Surjeet.
I don't have pictures but I would love if someone can post the pictures of everyone seated together for antakshari from an ariel view. Bebe, Cherry (Surjeet's representative) and Yuvi (Anita's representative) are all sitting in one row while Manohar and twinkle are sitting together. Manor always considers Anand as his right end in business and family affairs so it was a good choice to show Anand sitting beside Manohar however when time comes to take decision or to take a responsibility that is not of need, Ananad is quick to step away. It is an admirable trait as well to look after yourself first before caring about others. Similarly as this I loved the placement of Kunj, Leela and Usha on the opposite end symbolizing their unified approach with Kunj and both the mothers often not agreeing with Twinkle (In this case, it'll be their oblivious approach towards Twinkle and Manohar).
The seating for anatakshari has set the stage. For the whole ordeal, I believe Cherry will be the judge to make sure that peace is maintained. he'll be the spectator because he is not directly involved whereas he'll make sure that the truth of the situation comes out in the best way. While I would've preferred Surjeet to be actually present, I think giving Cherry the role is an interesting choice since he has been shown to abuse his power with Manohar before however still done what is best for the family. The actor who plays Cherry is literally the best of the younger cast. he knows what he is doing!
I think as the music started, the song choice was interesting and the spectators of the singers were an interesting choice as well.
Heer to bari sad hai reflects Kunj acknowledging Twinkle's mood and pointing out that he understands her even she says otherwise. *A lot of communication between Kunj and Twinkle toes days is nonverbal so it's interesting to see how they are building up on their instincts. I really liked the usage of this song.* - Yuvi was quick to notice that there is a small miff between the two and like before, he is not pleased with Kunj who Yuvi holds responsible for overtime Twinkle is upset because of any other reason. Interesting how Yuvi still thinks in his own twisted way that he has the most right on Twinkle where as she wants nothing to do with her.
> I also want to pint in this instance that Kunj and Twinkle have become so much focused not heir relationship that they are ignoring how they need to also be careful to protect their budding relationship from others until it is safe. In today's episode, they also ended up leaving the door to their room open symbolizing how both's differences which Yuvi will be informed about will leave their relationship vulnerable.
At this point I want to shed some light on Manohar. No parent ever wants bad for their child however their is good parenting and bad parenting and Manohar has adopted most of the notes from the bad parenting book. While he thought what was best for Kunj in terms of his marriage, he failed to give Kunj the respect and voice he deserved in the decision. I loved how along with the signifying of the suppressed secrets between Twinkle and Manohar, Manohar was also quick to realize the change in Kunj's attitude from rebellious towards his father to an attitude of contentment and happiness.
Something is up with Babe and all these songs she's singing. I loved Cherry calling Ananad good for nothing. Signifies his position to remain silent on most topics.
Next up in the round is Twinkle. The spectators to the ordeal are three people. Leela and Bebe who are noticing the friction with depth and Yuvraj who was quick to notice that Twinkle is "kahfa" from Kunj and threw a angry glance towards him but focused on Twinkle and for the first time in so many months, he almost genuinely smiled. In seven years, there was bound to be some kind of attachment from Yuvraj as well besides the revenge. It's another thing that he claims his twisted obsession with Twinkle as his love and passion for her.
I loved the song choice from Twinkle. She wants Kunj to know that he has to accept her as she is, with her baggage and with her past and him as her present. There is a line in the song that speaks about not getting married and I think choosing this song was one of the sneakiest things. Twinkle's and Kunj's marriage was more forced then their own decision however with both of them trying to give their life a new start; the start will only be possible once Kunj accepts Twinkle for who she is instead of criticizing few of her decisions and calling her out for it like he has done before. Twinkle needs him to know that she cannot let them go forward if he cannot accept the bad with the good. Are we going to see a new set of vows by both of them in future?
With Mama ji's song, I loved how Kunj was added into the dance steps. The song is light hearted and only asked for the other person to be there with them. I think Kunj's inclusion was to pinpoint that all he needs is Twinkle by his side. Musu Musu Deu Malai Lai was a good song choice for Kunj. Simple, to the point and reinstating that her happiness and smile mean the world to him.
Next up in Twinkle and I loved how bebe tells her to give a answer back to Kunj. Kyun Aage Peeche was a good choice again. I loved how taken aback Kunj was as she started singing but then composed himself. The song questioned Kunj back whether he too was feeling the same emotions as her or not because his way of talking to Twinkle has changed in last two days. I enjoyed Leela's reaction to the song. She wan quick to notice once again like yesterday's noodle incident that both play the blame game to run away from their feelings.
London Thumkda from leela ji after observing Kunj and Twinkle's interaction so far was a good choice. Bringing both onto the floor with her signified that after everything, she will be the one to make Twinkle realize that life is full of obstacles but her first priority should be Knuj. She is married to him and she needs to be with him and stand with him in all aspects.
Yuvraj's song choice probably rang up most of you guy's heads. This song was the one that he decided to sing on Kunj and twinkle's honeymoon and he was bold enough to speak through the song once again. What I actually liked about the performance was Kunj and Cherry's inclusion. While Cherry had himself cast an evil eye on Twinkle before, he seems to appear to be switching sides and protecting the honor of family. After all, Luthra is an outsider. Kunj was also quick to pick up and looked away in disgust.
I want to add on to Usha leaving after staying for so long later on. Manohar's song choice was very apt. I'll give on the conclusive meaning of the song first before going into what it symbolized. The song shouts out that for Manohar, he is only attracted and considers Usha as his wife but his words thought their marriage has damaged their relationship significantly and he notices that Usha shies away and tries not take their relationship forward unless Manohar demands it to be.
>>> Now I don't do song translation but I felt it important to do because each song explains the role of all the characters in upcoming track. Kunj and Twinkle are tied up in their lives but in midst of it the truth with break out and while Twinkle will initially justify herself before Kunj's anger, she'll leave it to him to find out the truth and work towards solving the problem and clearing the name. Their relationship would be left handing in the string and Kunj will make sure to stand beside Twinkle to help solve whatever problem surfaces but Twinkle will not easily accept him in a position where they can take their relationship forward. Kunj himself won't be ready completely and the differences would be noticed by the two ladies, Leela and Kunj. Kunj will try to go to the root of the problem like he always does to effetely get rid of the situation and discover Yuvraj to be the one responsible. Meanwhile Leela will make sure that Twinkle understands that weaker points in the relationship need to be protected and Twinkle will need to be more responsible in those terms. USA would probably so much shaken at the truth that she will remain quiet at whatever happens and only worry about Manohar's health but only after seeing his parents reconcile and his father giving the respect his mother deserves, Kunj would be able to reconcile properly with Twinkle. Thats where the last song sang by Kunj comes. Kunj will be the one to help clear things up and Yuvi till the last moment will continue to think that Twinkle and Kunj are both at distance.
Also Twinkle's name will be cleared up Knuj in front of the family. I think I elaborated on that part of the track in EP 159 Review so you can check my index for that.
Like I said in day before yesterday's post, confession from Twinkle will take place before the truth but sun's confession and the follow up of consummation wouldn't be until the Manohar's blackmailing truth is revealed.
I think the post is very long and has way too much to go around with. I'm sorry you guys had to bear with me. Overall, today's episode was a perfect mix of romance, family drama and comedy. Please leave your thoughts.
