I know it was a very typical daily soap thing that Dussharat kept the arrow locked in a room which no one was supposed to enter. However there is something that crossed my mind while watching the episode. No one can escape KARMA. Dussharat killed Sharvan Kumar accidentally but that didn't stop karma from giving the same fate to the King. He died in putra viyog like Sharvan's parents. This arrow, I believe sowed the seeds of Ram's exile. The promises he gave to Kaiyeki years before she used them to banish Ram were probably the fertilisers needed for the seed to grow.

What I like about the epic is that such small incidents played major roles in the story. Like death of Sharvan Kumar was not a momentous episode in the great epic but without that, without curse of Sharvan's parents Ram's exile might never have taken place. When you see the epics like Ramacharitramanas and Mahabharat as a whole you realise how small dots connected to form the bigger picture.

I agree with you completely, the cycle of karma completes and no one can escape it.What goes around, comes around !

@sumedha I have heard another thing about Shravan kumar's death. When Dasrath gets curse he doesnt have sons.

So to ensure the curse materializes Dasrath had to be given sons. That's how it is said sometimes even a curse becomes a boon.

Narayan was born into Dasrath's house to give him moksha and that curse became the seed for that birth.

I know Dastaras didn't have sons at the time of Shravan Kumar's death. And yes you pointed it out correctly, for the curse to materialise he needed to have sons.

There is another story that my grandfather told me regarding Ram's birth, I don't remember it exactly but I'll post it as soon as I check with him.
