Chapter- 28

Both Arnav and Khushi was busy in meetings, they finally met with each other in evening when they both gathered in conference room to attend the same room.

Arnav was excited as well as nervous with the thought of talking with Khushi after the meeting, he was stealing glances of Khushi who was herself nervous.

Khushi sat there nervously, her palms sweaty thinking about her decision, once this meeting gets over she will tell everything to Arnav. But after that? How'll Arnav react? Will his fears again overpower him? Or the father in him will win? Whatever the result will be, she is ready to risk her newly found happiness again, because there is no happiness in her life now without Aashi, everything is incomplete.

Khushi waited for Arnav in parking area, she has already sent Lavanya back to home to look after Aashi as Mr. Khanna was not feeling too well himself.

Khushi turned back to look at Arnav who sprinted towards her, he stopped before her taking deep breaths, and she can tell he came here running.

Arnav: Sorry for making you wait! Actually there was some unfinished work.

Khushi: it's ok!

Arnav: So shall we go? Khushi nodded and Arnav drove them back to his place.

Khushi looked around remembering last night events. last night many things got revealed to her and now she is here the biggest truth of their life to Arnav. She is feeling scared, she don't want Arnav to reject Aashi, she has lived till now contented with the thought that Arnav don't even know about Aashi but now even after knowing about her, of he denied accepting them in their life, she will be shattered with her hopes. But still she is here because of her hope which was telling her to tell him everything, he wouldn't leave them alone this time.

Khushi's thought interrupted by Arnav as he walked to her with their Mugs of coffee in his hands.

Arnav: Coffee!

Khushi: Thanks! She said taking coffee from his hands and Arnav settled beside her.

"I want to tell you something."

"I want to tell you something."

Suddenly both spoke in unison, breaking the silence lingering around them, and looked at each other surprised and amused.

Arnav smiled and asked her to continue.

Khushi: No! Tell me what were you saying?

Arnav: It's ok Khushi, it can wait. You tell me.

Both argued for other one to continue first, so they can gather more confidence to say what they want to. Arnav finally stopped argued and continued first, he don't want to lose this chance.

Arnav: Khushi!

Khushi: Yea

Arnav: Please Come back! His words were straight, which stumped Khushi who looked at him stunned.Though she knew he is not good with words but still it surprised her.

Arnav kneeled down in front of her looking at her expressions.

Arnav: Khushi! I know I may sound mean, but Khushi I never wanted to go on the first place but my fears made me take the most foolish decision of my life. I realized it, but was late as when I came to take you back you wasn't there.

Arnav: Khushi! Though my way was wrong but my intention was never. I just wanted your happiness, which I thought I wouldn't be able to give you because of shadows of my past.

Arnav: Do you remember when I asked you to don't go and come back with me in front of GH? Khushi nodded with teary eyes.

Arnav: You have asked me why! That time I didn't have any answer but now I have. Khushi was sobbing now without trying to wipe her tears, her hands was already numb in between of Arnav's.

Arnav: Khushi! Everything without you is empty, my life is like it don't even hold any meaning anymore. My life was dark, surrounded by dark shadows of past which never let me move on. But then you came, I never thought that one day you'll make this place in my life, I never intended to give that place to anyone but slowly yet steadily you made that place. Without even knowing about my past you pulled me into new lights, slowly I started liking living in these lights.

Arnav: I don't know what is it, the feeling was new. I just knew that if I can live in this new light, without those haunting nightmares then it is with you, if it's called Love, then be it is. Khushi's breath hitched as she listened to him holding her breadths.

They were interrupted by the shrill ringtone of Khushi's phone which she picked up robotically, whereas Arnav mumbled few curses.

Arnav looked as Khushi listened whatever the person said on other side with shock and her face turned pale before phone slipped away from her hands.

Arnav: Khushi! What happened?

Arnav picked up the phone when Khushi didn't answered to see it was Lavanya.

Arnav: Lavanya what is it?

Lavanya: Come to City Hospital soon, Aashi ... Aashi... She was crying uncontrollably and Arnav cut the call before shaking Khushi who was still sitting shocked. He was himself shocked and unknown to him, he was having tears in his eyes.

Both reached hospital and Khushi ran inside leaving Arnav outside to park the car. Lavanya hugged Khushi as soon as she saw her telling her how sorry she was. She just took out Aashi for ice- cream as Aashi wanted one but when they were returning back, she received the call and both stopped beside the car. She was talking on phone when Aashi started crossing the road looking at balloons. As soon as she saw she walked towards her but it was late and Aashi was pushed by a car.

Khushi listened everything, and fell down on the bench beside her. Lavanya's apologies was going into the deaf ears , and then she felt him, he is here. She looked sideways to see Arnav looking around maybe searching for them and soon their eyes met. Before Arnav can take a step, Khushi was running towards him and she hugged him like her life is dependent on it.

Arnav was shocked but trying to console her hugging her back. But he was never ready for the words he heard next.

Khushi: Save her Arnav!

Please save our daughter.

I can't live without her.

And his hands which were consoling her, fell back on his sides.
