I'm sorry for posting this a little late and not posting EP 153 Analysis. I've caught on the seasonal flu and had to be on bed rest for last 24 hours.
The emotional quotient of today's episode belonged to Kunj Sarna. Sidhant truly outshone today. His most iconic performance till date in the show for me was when he revealed to Twinkle that it was Yuvraj who tried to molest her before their marriage but today's episode takes it all away. A small scene captured raw anger, frustration and being unable to handle all this newfound attraction.
A few of the things that stood out to me from today's episode were following;
The episode started off with the interaction comparison between the two couples. Yuvi is quick to answer any question directed towards Mahi. I think that the relationship between Mahi and Yuvi needs to be discovered bit more if Mahi is here as a character to stay.
Right then we have an interaction between Knuj and Twinkle who regardless of their new found feelings and always being their for each other have not taken over the right to speak for another person. One of the signs of a healthy relationship is for each partner to be their own individual where as majority of toxic and unhealthy relationships are very similar to what Mahi and Yuvraj have = ignoring your personal preferences and comfort to please someone else.
Mahi has taken part in this pageant for Yuvi and not being able to win him a trophy is going to be her disappointment regardless how glad she would be of no longer being part of this competition in future.
I think yesterday's episode drew great parallels between the two when Mahi and Yuvi & Knuj and Twinkle were the only two couple left on stage in the dance competition. Yuvi's destructive plans are back firing and instead of strengthening his relationship with Mahi to torture Twinkle, he's striking the coal at his own feet.
The TEI creative team as far I've observed focus on songs to voice out the progress in relationships. The first verses that play from the two songs in the car are so brilliantly executed. Just linking in the first two verses from both the songs speaks volumes. Chup Tum Raho echos the settling silence and Sanam re beats on how Knuj's heart is no longer just his but has started beating for someone else.
I love the smile playing on Twinkle's face as Sanam re starts playing. It as if she has already acknowledged Knuj's growing feelings but waiting for him to react. After all, she was the one to point out his growing possessiveness. Knuj has never forced his decisions on Twinkle but for the first time he did said NO to something that she wanted to pursue and his only argument to the irrational request is that he doesn't want people looking at his wife the way only he has the right to look at her. There are so many lines of gray in this emotion and I love Sidhant's portrayal of it.
Another thing that stood out in the car for me when Knuj stopped the car after noticing Twinkle sitting without seatbelt. Remember the episode where he was talking to Twinkle's picture and then stood up to change and turned around saying that she's not allowed to see him change. Knuj was aware of Twinkle's growing feelings even though he was not able to understand them until recently; he knew that she appreciated how he appeared and how he carried himself and certain aspects of his personality. I find this quite humorous that Knuj choses to punish Twinkle by using his sexuality against her. He saw her shiver and close her eyes as he neared her but he remained transfixed in his position and reached for the belt slowly.
> Also goes to show that despite everything, he will be there to protect Twinkle.
The next scene that stood out to me was Knuj trying to provoke Twinkle after rescuing her. One of my favorite lines from past few episodes is Knuj repeatedly saying that there is nothing that of a husband and wife between them while knowing that they have made significant progress in their relationship after Yuvi's childish drama. What I really loved was Twinkle's spirit in the whole ordeal. She wanted Knuj to keep trusting her. She's trying to scream at him to just be with her for a little while longer as he has before, but till now Twinkle was just someone he was suppose to spent his life with. She was not his biwi in the truest sense of word.
That's why he says that he can't keep up with the secrets anymore. If this a little while before, Mr. Sarna would not have objected as much but now he cannot stand and be with her in every step when she's going to land herself in trouble that could mean deadly ends for not just Twinkle but him and his family too. > hence the line to stop taking things lightly.
One thing more that echoed really loudly in this scene was Knuj literally breaking up with Twinkle if they weren't married. Earlier in the episode he almost says that along with anger he has on Twinkle, he also feels same amount of ____?. He is in denial of his feelings because last time he invested his feelings onto another girl, the results weren't pretty and this time, all the investment appears to be reckless as well. Him yelling that he is done with everything was more of a reminder to himself to back off and try to not care.
The replaying of Do Pal at this point is perfect. It's not a perfect situation and both of them's separate paths are not colliding at all, giving more pain then usual.
All in all, i think today's episode and the next few episodes are going to be high on emotions and are going to just figure out the next steps for both Twinkle and Knuj. Also Yuvi acknowledging how his plans are starting to backfire was a awe-worthy moment. He's realizing how stupid he actually is.
I just want to mention how livid Knuj seemed when he saw his Twinkle pinned underneath someone else. Both Jasmin and Sidhant were outstanding in that scene. I didn't expect such a powerful performance from Jasmin but she was amazing!
