Chapter 19
On a such day, Ishita was in her room, discussing something with Raman when her phone rang, she received the call : Yes Amma!! Say.. How are you?
Madhvi : Ishu? How are you kanna?
Ishita : I am fine amma.
Madhvi : Ishu.. Actually I called you to invite you for a dinner tonight.
Ishita looked at Raman and replied : But amma... You know Raman isn't well.. How can we go for dinner?
But before she could say further, Raman snatched the phone from her hand, Ishita tried to snatch back but no luck!!
Raman : Yes amma!! We will be there. Even I am fed up with this regular boring food. Don't worry, we will be there on time.
He hang up the call and looked at Ishita who was completely furious on him. As soon as he end the call, she asked : What was that?
Raman : What?
Ishita : Why did you accept her invitation? I was talking with her no?
Raman sighed : Come on Ishita, it's been a week, I was locked in this house, I need some fresh air.
Ishita sighed defeated, as she knew there wasn't anything left to argue with him. She said : Okay fine. But I will drive.
Raman : As you wish.
In the evening,
Ishita was almost ready in her white net saree, she was brushing her hair when Raman came inside the room and directly his eyes fall on Ishita. He looked at her through the mirror and came near and stood behind her. She eyeing him what but he shook his head.
Raman : Madrasan!! You are going at your parent's place, not in a party. So, I think no need to dress up so nicely.
Ishita turned at him and looked for some time and said : You mean I am looking beautiful?
Raman rolled his eyes and passed from there but Ishita turned and held his hand saying : Wait wait... If you really want to compliment me then you can. I won't mind!!
Raman looked at her romantically and asked : Sure you won't mind?
She lowered her eyes shyly and nod no!! Raman came little close to her and made her turn towards the mirror and stood behind her and bend to her ear saying : You know you are looking like...
A smile came on Ishita's lips and she whispered : Like???
Raman : Like..
He looked at her blushing face with a smirk and said loudly : Like a white ghost...
She looked at him through the mirror with shocking face.
Raman : Just look at you Madrasan, how much make up you put on your face? Real ghost will get scare if they see you!!
He smirked. Ishita turned at him and started hitting on his chest lightly saying : Raman I will kill you.
As Ishita was hitting him, suddenly she hit him on his plaster, he moaned : Ahhh!!
As she heard his moan, she got worried : Raman!! I.. I am sorry. I didn't want to harm you. I extremely..
Saying this she looked at him and found him smiling, as her eyes met with him, he winked. Ishita realized he was acting, she playfully hit him again but Raman caught her hand saying : Okay.. Kill me later. Now wash your make up and come down fast. I am waiting outside my white ghost...
He teased her and left the room. Ishita turned at the mirror and looking herself with a puppy face.
Ishita : Am I really looking bad??
She was checking herself when Raman was standing outside the room and enjoying his Madrasan's childish act when Toshiji patted on his shoulder asking : Raman.. What happen puttar?
He felt embarrassment and left saying nothing. Toshiji smiled and walked inside the room when Ishita saw her.
Ishita : Mummyji.. Mummyji.. Am I looking bad?? Your son told me I am looking like white..
But she stopped. Toshiji laughed and said : Don't take his words seriously. He was pulling your leg. You are looking so beautiful puttar.
She said and kissed on her forehead. Then said : Now go.. Raman must be waiting..
Ishita smiled and gave a hug and left...
Ishita went out and found him standing leaning against the door,she showed anger and walked to him saying : Give me the keys, I will drive.
Raman : No. I will drive.
Ishita : Don't be stubborn Raman. You have fractures, how can you drive?
Raman replied pissed : Ishita please. Don't treat me as a patient. I am better than before.
Ishita : Fine.
She once again showed anger and sit inside the car and the whole way they both didn't talk with each other. Ishita could sense Raman felt difficulty to drive but she remained silent, as she knew Raman won't agree. Finally they reached, he parked the car and get down from car and opened the door for Ishita, she also get down, still showed him anger. Raman closed the door when Ishita's saree's pallu stuck in the door. She turned at Raman and showed him at the door. He freed her pollution, Ishita rolled her eyes and was going to leave when Raman said : Ishita!!
She stopped but didn't face him.
Raman : Ishita look I am sorry... I was just joking...
By now he could see the curve on her lips and so he continued : You are really looking beautiful.
She turned at him with smiling face and thanked him. They both headed inside.
Once they walked inside, Ishita enquired about Mr Iyer : Amma? Where's Appa?
Mrs Iyer : He is on the way..
They all have a chatting. After some time the phone rings..
"Hello!!" Mrs Iyer received the call but suddenly the phone fall from her hand and tears rolled down from her eyes. She sat back on couch, Ishita got panicked.
Ishita : Amma... Amma what happen?
Mrs Iyer : Ishu... Your Appa..
By then Raman talked in phone and then said : Amaa don't worry... Appa will be fine.
Raman assured her who was crying continuously for which Ishita frightened more.
Ishita : Raman .. What happen?? What happen with appa?
She asked worriedly as tears escaped from her eyes too.
Raman : Ishita... I have to go hospital. Appa met with an accident.
Ishita : What??
Raman : Ishita.. Be strong!! Appa will be fine.. You take care of amma. I am going.
He was going to leave when Madhvi stopped him saying : Raman!! I want to go with you.. Please take me. I want to see him..
Raman : But amma. You stay here please.
This time Ishita insisted : No.. Raman!! We are coming with you please.
Helplessly Raman nodded and all left for hospital. On the way he informed in Bhalla house, they all rushed to the hospital.
Hospital,
Everyone were waiting outside of the Operation theater. Nurses were rushing here and there. After 30 minutes of procedure doctor came out from the OT. Ishita rushed to him asking : Doctor Appa?
Doctor : We can't say anything now. His brain get injured badly. And internal bleeding doesn't stop.. We have to do one more operation...
As Raman heard, he shouted : Do whatever you want to do doctor!! I want the result only...
Doctor : Calm down Raman. We are doing our best. You please arrange the blood. We don't have O- blood in our blood bank...
Without second thought, Raman replied : No problem!! I will give him blood.
His sudden statement shocked Ishita, she denied saying : No. Raman, you can't. You are already weak from inside. Don't do this please. We will arrange from somewhere.
Raman : Ishita relax. I know we can arrange but it will take enough time. Relax!! I am fine. Please don't stop me.
Doctor interrupted : Raman please. We don't have much time. Please come with me..
Doctor took him inside the OT. After some time Raman came out. He was looking little unwell but still tried his best to be normal. Ishita rushed to him crying : Raman appa??
Raman : Don't worry Ishita!! He will be fine and he is under treatment no!! Keep faith on God. He won't let anything happen with him.
Ishita cried and hugged him, he console her. After an hour doctor came out from OT and informed : Operation is successful. But still we can't say anything. We have to wait till tomorrow.
Raman nodded and turned to Ishita : Ishita!! You all go home. I am here.
Ishita : No Raman. I want to stay here...
She was too stubborn to listen so, unwillingly he agreed. He then said to Mr Bhalla : Maa papa you please take amma with you. She needs some rest...
Raman insist Madhvi to go at bhalla house and she agreed. Everyone left from there. Raman and Ishita were stay back. Raman felt little dizzy as he was weak, Ishita supported him immediately : Raman??
Raman : I.. I am fine. You sit here and take some rest.
Ishita : No.. I am fine.. You sit here. I will bring some food for you. You are looking weak..
Raman : But Madrasan I am..
But she glared at him so he stopped. After some time she came back with food and both fed each other.
Ishita : Thank you Raman.
Raman asked sarcastically : For what??
Ishita : Today you give him a new life. If you didn't give him blood then don't know how will we arrange the blood..
Raman : Come on Ishita!! He is my father too... And you don't need to say thanks. We are family!!
He smiled. They had a little talk when Ishita felt sleepy and rested her head on his shoulder and he supported her and both went to sleep...
