Sanyukta, who was holding Raghav in her arms just smiled and said, "I love you too...sweetheart."
Randhir smiled at her reassuringly but she shot him a glare. Who did he think he was to smile at her like that?
"You didn't miss daddy?" Randhir asked pretending to be hurt.
Sanyukta now smirked.
"She loves mommy only!" she replied.
"No I love my daddy!" Somya defended and then let go of Sanyukta and hugged her father. "My most favourite person in the world."
Sanyukta frowned. Why did Somya love Randhir so much? What was so lovable about her so called husband? It seemed like her very own daughter loved her father more than even her mother.
"I need to feed Raghav," Sanyukta stated and glared at Randhir.
"Somya I'll get your mommy settled and then I'll come down to see you okay?" Randhir asked her softly.
"Okay," Somya said and then smiled widely. "At school I showed my friends a picture of my mommy and daddy and everyone thinks you two look so good together!"
Sanyukta felt like she could throw up in her mouth. What was happening? This was all so bizarre... like a dream that she was struggling to wake up from or in other words, a nightmare.
Randhir chuckled and patted her hair.
"I'll be back," he said and then wrapped his arms around Sanyukta again and started to lead her up the stairs into their bedroom.
As soon as she entered she frowned.
"Where do I sleep?" she asked.
"On the bed with me," he answered, rolling his eyes.
"You will sleep on the ground!" she demanded.
"Just relax and feed the baby," he told her.
"Then leave!" she said through gritted teeth.
"This is my room, I'll leave when I want to," he said coolly and her mouth dropped open.
"Disgusting," she murmured scrunching her nose. "I must have been drunk to have kids with you."
He walked up to her and leaned into her ear.
"You were very much sober both times," he whispered seductively, "and you enjoyed it so much that we didn't just do it to have kids... we did it so many more times."
She gasped.
Randhir chuckled and placed his hand on her shoulder, causing her to stiffen up.
"Feed the baby," he said softly, "I'll go down and spend some time with Somya."
"That's what I told you to do all along - to leave me alone," she groaned. "What's wrong with you?"
Randhir smiled and cupped her cheeks lovingly as she gave him a death glare.
"What are you doing?" she gasped, but he brought his finger to her lips to silence her.
She shivered with his touch, and for some reason, the proximity was making her body feel weak... why was she feeling so weak around Randhir Singh Shekhawat? She hated him... she shouldn't want to get so close to him.
"Relax," he told her, looking directly into her eyes, "You need it."
"Why are you so concerned about me?" she huffed.
"Because I need you to be in good shape so I can bother you properly," he said with a smirk, then let go of her. "I'll be downstairs."
Then her mouth fell open as he left the room. Who did he think she was?
Sanyukta put the baby down on the bed and locked the room in case he was planning to walk in on her breastfeeding. She didn't trust him! Then she sat on the bed and removed her top to breastfeed her son.
She didn't know how she got here, but this was still the craziest experience of her life - until what felt like yesterday, she was still in college, dreaming of being an engineer, and here she was now married and a mother of two.
Sometimes time flew so quickly, that the moments in between got lost and didn't even remain in memory.

Later that night, Randhir was tucking Somya in bed, when she looked up at him with a suspicious expression. He tried to avoid his daughter's gaze and instead pulled the blankets up to her chin.
"Mommy always tucks me in," she commented. "Why isn't she doing it today?"
"She's just busy with the baby," Randhir told her and kissed Somya's forehead.
"She forgot about me?" Somya asked, pouting and Randhir smiled.
"Of course not," he told her lovingly. "She loves you a lot... but the baby needs her attention now more than you. You can take care of yourself, but the baby can't."
Somya frowned but Randhir caressed her cheek softly.
"Good night," she said pointedly, sounding unhappy.
"I love you so much," he told her. "And so does mommy. I promise, everything will go back to normal soon."
Somya nodded and sighed loudly.
"I guess I can't do anything so no point being sad!" she commented with a loud sigh.
"Wow my Somya is so smart," Randhir replied proudly and then stroked her hair. "Good night baby."
"I love you daddy," she said.
"I love you too baby," he replied.
Finally, he turned off her lights and closed her door. Once he went to his own room, he saw the baby sleeping on his side of the bed, and Sanyukta sleeping on her own. There was a huge gap between the baby and Sanyukta... it was almost like she was trying to crowd the bed so he didn't have any space to sleep.
Randhir just shook his head and smiled.
Sanyukta's eyes were closed but he knew she was wide awake. Randhir closed the door and turned on the lamp.
Then he started to unbutton his shirt to change into his night clothes.
Sanyukta, who was lying down, opened her eyes slowly and saw that he was removing his shirt and she nearly gasped. She squeezed her eyes shut, but for some reason, she couldn't control herself when she opened her eyes again.
He had completely removed his shirt.
His body was so muscular... so toned... she had the urge to touch his abs but she bit down on her lips. No way, she couldn't have thoughts like that.
Randhir then started to unzip his pants to remove them and she gasped out loud.
"Stop!" she called out and Randhir stopped with a smirk.
"What?" he shot back.
"Go - go to the bathroom and change!" she told him.
"Close your eyes," he retorted.
"N - no! I can't!" she said... how could she close her eyes when he looked so attractive?
"That's not my problem," he said with a smirk.
She got up from the bed as he brought his hands back to the zipper of his pants. She ran towards him and grabbed his hands to stop him - it was only after she did this that she realized where her hands were.
Her eyes widened with shock, and both Randhir and Sanyukta's heart rates shot up.

Randhir forced himself to take deep breaths... he couldn't lose control like this. Yes, her closeness was making him crave for her, but right now more than these desires, he had one very important desire that took top priority... and that was to win her love.
"This is how it starts," he told her with a smirk. "This is how we get close... you just can't keep your hands off me."
Her breath caught in her throat and she looked down at his chest... those abs. She wanted to touch them so badly. Randhir followed her gaze and smirked again.
"If you are ready to stop looking at my body, can you remove your hands?" he asked her.
She widened her eyes and took her hands off him, her heart beating erratically. How could she do something like that without even thinking? No way! She had never been this comfortable with Randhir Singh Shekhawat.
"Sanyukta I know you want me, but at least wait until you recover completely. You just had a surgery, it isn't advised to do that right after," he indicated and Sanyukta glared.
"That was a mistake," she retorted.
"It's getting late... get the sleep while you can, because you'll need to feed Raghav after three hours," he told her. "And the baby won't let you sleep."
"Me?" Sanyukta asked, shocked. "You're going to sleep peacefully?"
"I guess I have to go to another room don't I?" he asked her with raised eyebrows.
"N - no stay here!" she told him, deciding not to let him go.
After all, if she had to wake up in the middle of the night, she was going to take him down with her.
"Fine," he said, shrugging his shoulders. "But on the condition that I sleep on the bed."
"Fine," she hissed. "But stay away from me!"
"I am the one who should be telling you that," he pointed out and he watched as her face went red.
Randhir then grabbed his clothes and went to the washroom to get changed. Sanyukta watched him with surprise - if he was planning to change in the washroom all along, then why make such a big deal out of it?
Once he came out of the bathroom in a t-shirt and sweatpants, he noticed that Sanyukta had moved Raghav to the middle of the bed. Raghav was still sleeping soundly.
"You're using our baby as a barrier?" he asked her with disbelief.
"Be careful," she warned. "Don't hit him while you sleep!"
"We bought a crib, I'll set it up in the morning," he told her.
"Then what will be between us on the bed?" she asked him, shocked.
"You worry too much," he commented. "Just go to sleep."
Then he yawned loudly.
Sanyukta got in the bed and turned to face Raghav before placing her hand on his belly. He was still sleeping soundly.
Randhir got in the bed too and closed his eyes, turning to face Sanyukta. Her eyes had closed already and he smiled, admiring her.
He closed his eyes too and over the night, he had rested his hand on top of hers, which was already on Raghav's stomach. Neither of them flinched, because the touch was not out of the ordinary. Even if the mind was not able to comprehend the purity behind a touch, in the most vulnerable state, the soul was able to recognize the touch of its mate.

A few hours later, the baby started to cry and Sanyukta woke up with a start. She looked down at Raghav and was about to pick him up when she realized that Randhir's hand was on top of hers. Glancing up at his face, she saw that he was peacefully sleeping. For some reason a smile formed on her face as he was breathing deeply. He looked cute - wait no way. He couldn't look cute.
She shrugged his hand off hers and picked up Raghav from the bed, holding him in her arms and soothing him by rubbing his back. She started to rock him back and forth, but she knew he was hungry.
Sanyukta gulped, wondering if she should breastfeed the baby in here. Yes, of course she should! This was her room. Why should she do it anywhere else?
But Randhir... what if he woke up to her breastfeeding?
No... she had to wake him up and kick him out.
As she was about to grab his shirt to shake him, something stopped her. Perhaps it was the way he looked so peaceful while asleep.
Turning her back towards him, she took a deep breath and took off her shirt. Then she unclasped her bra and took her arm out of one end of the sleeves.
As she held the baby to her chest, she heard Randhir move on the bed. Her breath caught in her throat and she squeezed her eyes shut - almost as if he wouldn't be able to see her then.
"Relax I'm not looking," he said, sounding groggy.
Sanyukta relaxed and continued to feed the baby until a thought struck her - why did she trust him? How could she even do that?
"Too much fear isn't good for the milk," he replied, as if he read her mind, and she could tell his face was turned away from her.
Ignoring him, she finished feeding the baby and placed him on middle of the bed before pulling her shirt back on. Then she lay down as well and closed her eyes.
The next time they were woken up was when Raghav's cries filled the room.
Sanyukta stirred in the bed and Randhir's eyes opened. He picked up Raghav in his arms and took him out of the room, wanting Sanyukta to rest. Sanyukta closed her eyes again and fell into a deep sleep.
It was only when she woke up automatically an hour later, that she actually realized that Randhir and Raghav weren't in the room. Getting out of bed, she opened the door to their room and went downstairs only to see Randhir holding Raghav and kissing his face with a smile on his face.
For some reason, her eyes lit up and she smiled too watching him shower their baby with so much love.
He looked up and saw that she was up.
"You're awake?" he asked her.
"No I'm sleeping," she replied sarcastically, then she walked over to him and sat on the sofa next to him.
"He has your eyes," he commented.
She smiled and held his tiny fingers.
"He looks a lot like you though," she admitted.
Randhir looked up at her with surprise that she would even admit to such a thing.
"Are you feeling okay?" he asked her.
She shook her head and tears filled her eyes.
"No," she answered. "I don't know what's happening Randhir... all of this is so weird."
Then she sniffled and she wondered why she was crying in front of him... she shouldn't cry in front of her enemy like that. She couldn't expose her vulnerability.
"Sanyukta," he started, but she cut him off.
"I never kissed a boy and here I have two kids and I'm married. I don't even know how," she whispered, trying to hold back her tears. "How did this happen Randhir? Please tell me?"
Randhir didn't know what to tell her... how could he tell her that they had fallen in love? He wanted to wrap his arms around her and hold her tightly against him, but he knew he couldn't do that. He had to be smart.
"You know Sanyukta," he said softly, "When life gives you surprises, you just have to accept it because destiny was never in our hands."
"Destiny?" she asked him softly.
Could it be that Randhir Singh Shekhawat had been her destiny all along? No way... he was such a chauvinist. There was no way.
"We're here together, with two kids and married when we couldn't even stand each other. Isn't that destiny?" he asked her.
"I refuse to accept my destiny was with you," she pointed out. "I can't believe I am living eight years in the future right now. What happened in between? I don't even know."
"You and I got married after we finished college," he told her softly. "We lived in a small apartment, and then you got pregnant with Somya. After Somya's birth, I started my own company... Somya Steels, and it's been successful. That company is what gave us this house and this lifestyle."
He left out the part where Sanyukta had left them to go abroad, because he didn't want her to feel an ounce of guilt.
"What did I do?" she asked him in response.
"You worked in the beginning but then took maternity leave," he answered.
"Oh," Sanyukta replied, looking down.
Suddenly the baby started crying again and Sanyukta took the baby from Randhir and rocked him in her arms.
"I love him," she murmured. "I don't even how it's so hard to accept I have kids, yet it feels like I love them so much."
"You're a mother, that's why," he said softly.
"Why are you being so nice?" she then asked suspiciously.
"I told you, I'm not going to bother you until you get better," he said to her, "It's no fun."
She inhaled sharply and got up with the baby before walking upstairs to her room. Once an MCP, always an MCP.
Randhir smiled at her as she left - even today, when she got irritated or angry, she looked so cute. And even today it was fun to tease her.

In the morning, Randhir woke up before Sanyukta and saw that it was already getting close to half past six. He glanced over at her and saw that she was sleeping soundly... he decided to let her rest. After all, she wasn't getting much rest because of the baby.
Yawning, Randhir stretched in his bed and then went to Somya's room.
"Wake up baby," Randhir murmured to her and she woke up with a start.
"Where's mommy?" Somya snapped.
Randhir was taken aback by her tone.
"She's sleeping... the baby didn't let her sleep all night," Randhir answered softly.
"So she loves the baby more!" Somya replied, and then sat up in her bed, crossing her arms defiantly.
"Somya you know it's not like that," Randhir said and Somya angrily got out of the bed and locked herself in the bathroom to shower.
Sighing, Randhir went to his own room and got ready. After he showered and got dressed, he saw that Sanyukta was still sleeping soundly. He really wanted to go up to her and kiss her cheek, but he knew he shouldn't. He had to have some self control.
As he went downstairs to the dining room, he saw Somya was already sitting there in her school uniform.
"Who's going to braid my hair?" she asked, sounding irritated.
"I will," he replied.
"No!" she yelled. "You can't do hair! You'll ruin it!"
"Somya, today we'll just do a ponytail then okay?" he asked her softly.
"I hate this! Why isn't mommy even spending time with me?" she asked irritably.
Randhir sighed and went to the kitchen to pour Somya a bowl of cereal.
"Cereal?" she complained. "Mommy cooks stuff!"
"Somya your mommy needs to rest. She just had a surgery and now she needs rest," Randhir urged and took the cereal to Somya.
"I don't want to eat," she said defiantly.
Just then Sanyukta came downstairs in her nightclothes, holding Raghav in her arms. Passing Raghav to Randhir, Sanyukta went to Somya and said, "Come help mommy in the kitchen."
Randhir looked at her, surprised.
Somya sniffled and angrily followed Sanyukta in the kitchen.
Sanyukta took out a pan and some pancake mix before quickly making pancakes for Somya.
She got some maple syrup and handed it to her daughter.
"Here, set the table with this," she told her, and Somya irritably took it and silently went to the table.
As she took the pancakes to the dining room, she placed the pancakes on Somya's plate.
"Sorry sweetheart... I overslept," Sanyukta said, sounding guilty.
"It's because of the baby!" Somya replied, sounding annoyed. "The baby made you forget me!"
"Somya it isn't like that," Sanyukta said and Somya looked away, showing attitude.
"Somya!" Randhir then bellowed causing Sanyukta's eyes to widen. "You need to behave!"
Somya's eyes filled with tears.
"Randhir," Sanyukta whispered, trying to calm him down.
"You can't always be expected to be treated like a princess!" he yelled. "Your mommy loves you, but she loves your baby brother too... and he needs her attention now more than you!"
Somya started to sob uncontrollably and Sanyukta placed her hand on her daughter's shoulder.
"Please don't cry sweetheart," she said softly and hugged her tightly.
Then Sanyukta glared at Randhir, angry with him for hurting her daughter's feelings.
After Randhir left to drop Somya to school, Sanyukta took Raghav into her bedroom, fed him and then rested him on the bed before she collapsed on top of it as well, exhausted.
Being a parent was such hard work, and it hadn't even been a few days since she had given birth.
She slept soundly, but it was when the bedroom door opened about an hour later, that she woke up. Randhir had walked back into the room.
"You didn't go to work?" she mumbled.
"No, I'm working from home," he answered, and picked up his laptop from the desk. "Go back to sleep."
She just nodded, too exhausted to argue. Randhir left the room with the laptop, leaving the door open. When he came back in a few minutes later, it was to slowly pick up Raghav and take him to the guest room. Randhir was doing his work there. He didn't want Raghav to wake up and cry, consequently waking up Sanyukta as well.
A few hours later, Raghav woke up and began to cry. Randhir picked him up and gently rocked him.
Sanyukta, in her room, felt her heartrate increase although she hadn't heard anything. She woke up with a start. Perhaps it was mother's instinct, but she rushed out of the room to look for her son. She went from room to room, until she finally saw him in Randhir's arms in the guest room.
"Wow," she muttered.
How was he so good with babies? She admired the way he was holding Raghav.
Randhir looked up and smiled at her.
"Were you like this with Somya too?" she asked him curiously.
"What? No way! Somya was so hard," Randhir laughed. "But after taking care of Somya, I learned how to be a mother too."
"A mother?" she asked, sounding confused, and Randhir remembered that Sanyukta had forgot about their separation.
"Nothing," he said and then asked her, "How come you're up?"
"I dunno, I felt Raghav crying," she said with a shrug and walked up to him, before caressing her son's forehead. "By the way, why did you shout at Somya earlier? That wasn't nice."
"Sanyukta you're the one who always said that she shouldn't be spoiled," Randhir commented. "And here she is screaming that she doesn't get attention... she needs to learn! We can't always just pamper her. She's had enough of that."
Sanyukta frowned, not being able to digest that there was any need to shout at their daughter.
"Just don't hurt her like that. I don't like it," she told him.
"Look, now Raghav's sleeping," Randhir commented, changing the subject. "Let me set up the crib now. It's probably better."
Sanyukta took the baby from him and Randhir went to set up the crib. Once he was done, Sanyukta settled Raghav into the crib. She put a small teddy bear and soft toys in the crib for him too.
"I'll go back to work," Randhir decided then he turned around to leave.
"Wait," Sanyukta said, stopping him. "I want to ask you something."
He looked at her with surprise.
"Yes?" he asked her.
"I was wondering... I just want to know, how did we even have our first kiss?" she asked him. "It's just hard to digest and... and now I want to know."
Randhir smirked and walked up to her slowly. Gulping, she took a few steps back as he approached her. Finally, her back hit the wall and he placed both hands on either side of her, blocking her escape route.
Leaning forward, he allowed his lips to gently graze over her ear.
"I can show you how," he whispered seductively in her ear causing her stomach to begin performing somersaults.
