"Mommy!" Somya screamed as her parents walked inside the house with the baby then ran over to engulf her in a tight hug. "I love you mommy!"

Sanyukta, who was holding Raghav in her arms just smiled and said, "I love you too...sweetheart."

Randhir smiled at her reassuringly but she shot him a glare. Who did he think he was to smile at her like that?

"You didn't miss daddy?" Randhir asked pretending to be hurt.

Sanyukta now smirked.

"She loves mommy only!" she replied.

"No I love my daddy!" Somya defended and then let go of Sanyukta and hugged her father. "My most favourite person in the world."

Sanyukta frowned. Why did Somya love Randhir so much? What was so lovable about her so called husband? It seemed like her very own daughter loved her father more than even her mother.

"I need to feed Raghav," Sanyukta stated and glared at Randhir.

"Somya I'll get your mommy settled and then I'll come down to see you okay?" Randhir asked her softly.

"Okay," Somya said and then smiled widely. "At school I showed my friends a picture of my mommy and daddy and everyone thinks you two look so good together!"

Sanyukta felt like she could throw up in her mouth. What was happening? This was all so bizarre... like a dream that she was struggling to wake up from or in other words, a nightmare.

Randhir chuckled and patted her hair.

"I'll be back," he said and then wrapped his arms around Sanyukta again and started to lead her up the stairs into their bedroom.

As soon as she entered she frowned.

"Where do I sleep?" she asked.

"On the bed with me," he answered, rolling his eyes.

"You will sleep on the ground!" she demanded.

"Just relax and feed the baby," he told her.

"Then leave!" she said through gritted teeth.

"This is my room, I'll leave when I want to," he said coolly and her mouth dropped open.

"Disgusting," she murmured scrunching her nose. "I must have been drunk to have kids with you."

He walked up to her and leaned into her ear.

"You were very much sober both times," he whispered seductively, "and you enjoyed it so much that we didn't just do it to have kids... we did it so many more times."

She gasped.
177
"Liar!" she hissed. "There's no way! You probably threw yourself on me. I don't believe I could ever enjoy doing that with you!"

Randhir chuckled and placed his hand on her shoulder, causing her to stiffen up.

"Feed the baby," he said softly, "I'll go down and spend some time with Somya."

"That's what I told you to do all along - to leave me alone," she groaned. "What's wrong with you?"

Randhir smiled and cupped her cheeks lovingly as she gave him a death glare.

"What are you doing?" she gasped, but he brought his finger to her lips to silence her.

She shivered with his touch, and for some reason, the proximity was making her body feel weak... why was she feeling so weak around Randhir Singh Shekhawat? She hated him... she shouldn't want to get so close to him.

"Relax," he told her, looking directly into her eyes, "You need it."

"Why are you so concerned about me?" she huffed.

"Because I need you to be in good shape so I can bother you properly," he said with a smirk, then let go of her. "I'll be downstairs."

Then her mouth fell open as he left the room. Who did he think she was?

Sanyukta put the baby down on the bed and locked the room in case he was planning to walk in on her breastfeeding. She didn't trust him! Then she sat on the bed and removed her top to breastfeed her son.

She didn't know how she got here, but this was still the craziest experience of her life - until what felt like yesterday, she was still in college, dreaming of being an engineer, and here she was now married and a mother of two.

Sometimes time flew so quickly, that the moments in between got lost and didn't even remain in memory.

178

Later that night, Randhir was tucking Somya in bed, when she looked up at him with a suspicious expression. He tried to avoid his daughter's gaze and instead pulled the blankets up to her chin.

"Mommy always tucks me in," she commented. "Why isn't she doing it today?"

"She's just busy with the baby," Randhir told her and kissed Somya's forehead.

"She forgot about me?" Somya asked, pouting and Randhir smiled.

"Of course not," he told her lovingly. "She loves you a lot... but the baby needs her attention now more than you. You can take care of yourself, but the baby can't."

Somya frowned but Randhir caressed her cheek softly.

"Good night," she said pointedly, sounding unhappy.

"I love you so much," he told her. "And so does mommy. I promise, everything will go back to normal soon."

Somya nodded and sighed loudly.

"I guess I can't do anything so no point being sad!" she commented with a loud sigh.

"Wow my Somya is so smart," Randhir replied proudly and then stroked her hair. "Good night baby."

"I love you daddy," she said.

"I love you too baby," he replied.

Finally, he turned off her lights and closed her door. Once he went to his own room, he saw the baby sleeping on his side of the bed, and Sanyukta sleeping on her own. There was a huge gap between the baby and Sanyukta... it was almost like she was trying to crowd the bed so he didn't have any space to sleep.

Randhir just shook his head and smiled.

Sanyukta's eyes were closed but he knew she was wide awake. Randhir closed the door and turned on the lamp.

Then he started to unbutton his shirt to change into his night clothes.

Sanyukta, who was lying down, opened her eyes slowly and saw that he was removing his shirt and she nearly gasped. She squeezed her eyes shut, but for some reason, she couldn't control herself when she opened her eyes again.

He had completely removed his shirt.

His body was so muscular... so toned... she had the urge to touch his abs but she bit down on her lips. No way, she couldn't have thoughts like that.

Randhir then started to unzip his pants to remove them and she gasped out loud.

"Stop!" she called out and Randhir stopped with a smirk.

"What?" he shot back.

"Go - go to the bathroom and change!" she told him.

"Close your eyes," he retorted.

"N - no! I can't!" she said... how could she close her eyes when he looked so attractive?

"That's not my problem," he said with a smirk.

She got up from the bed as he brought his hands back to the zipper of his pants. She ran towards him and grabbed his hands to stop him - it was only after she did this that she realized where her hands were.

Her eyes widened with shock, and both Randhir and Sanyukta's heart rates shot up.

179

Randhir forced himself to take deep breaths... he couldn't lose control like this. Yes, her closeness was making him crave for her, but right now more than these desires, he had one very important desire that took top priority... and that was to win her love.

"This is how it starts," he told her with a smirk. "This is how we get close... you just can't keep your hands off me."

Her breath caught in her throat and she looked down at his chest... those abs. She wanted to touch them so badly. Randhir followed her gaze and smirked again.

"If you are ready to stop looking at my body, can you remove your hands?" he asked her.

She widened her eyes and took her hands off him, her heart beating erratically. How could she do something like that without even thinking? No way! She had never been this comfortable with Randhir Singh Shekhawat.

"Sanyukta I know you want me, but at least wait until you recover completely. You just had a surgery, it isn't advised to do that right after," he indicated and Sanyukta glared.

"That was a mistake," she retorted.

"It's getting late... get the sleep while you can, because you'll need to feed Raghav after three hours," he told her. "And the baby won't let you sleep."

"Me?" Sanyukta asked, shocked. "You're going to sleep peacefully?"

"I guess I have to go to another room don't I?" he asked her with raised eyebrows.

"N - no stay here!" she told him, deciding not to let him go.

After all, if she had to wake up in the middle of the night, she was going to take him down with her.

"Fine," he said, shrugging his shoulders. "But on the condition that I sleep on the bed."

"Fine," she hissed. "But stay away from me!"

"I am the one who should be telling you that," he pointed out and he watched as her face went red.

Randhir then grabbed his clothes and went to the washroom to get changed. Sanyukta watched him with surprise - if he was planning to change in the washroom all along, then why make such a big deal out of it?

Once he came out of the bathroom in a t-shirt and sweatpants, he noticed that Sanyukta had moved Raghav to the middle of the bed. Raghav was still sleeping soundly.

"You're using our baby as a barrier?" he asked her with disbelief.

"Be careful," she warned. "Don't hit him while you sleep!"

"We bought a crib, I'll set it up in the morning," he told her.

"Then what will be between us on the bed?" she asked him, shocked.

"You worry too much," he commented. "Just go to sleep."

Then he yawned loudly.

Sanyukta got in the bed and turned to face Raghav before placing her hand on his belly. He was still sleeping soundly.

Randhir got in the bed too and closed his eyes, turning to face Sanyukta. Her eyes had closed already and he smiled, admiring her.

He closed his eyes too and over the night, he had rested his hand on top of hers, which was already on Raghav's stomach. Neither of them flinched, because the touch was not out of the ordinary. Even if the mind was not able to comprehend the purity behind a touch, in the most vulnerable state, the soul was able to recognize the touch of its mate.

180

A few hours later, the baby started to cry and Sanyukta woke up with a start. She looked down at Raghav and was about to pick him up when she realized that Randhir's hand was on top of hers. Glancing up at his face, she saw that he was peacefully sleeping. For some reason a smile formed on her face as he was breathing deeply. He looked cute - wait no way. He couldn't look cute.

She shrugged his hand off hers and picked up Raghav from the bed, holding him in her arms and soothing him by rubbing his back. She started to rock him back and forth, but she knew he was hungry.

Sanyukta gulped, wondering if she should breastfeed the baby in here. Yes, of course she should! This was her room. Why should she do it anywhere else?

But Randhir... what if he woke up to her breastfeeding?

No... she had to wake him up and kick him out.

As she was about to grab his shirt to shake him, something stopped her. Perhaps it was the way he looked so peaceful while asleep.

Turning her back towards him, she took a deep breath and took off her shirt. Then she unclasped her bra and took her arm out of one end of the sleeves.

As she held the baby to her chest, she heard Randhir move on the bed. Her breath caught in her throat and she squeezed her eyes shut - almost as if he wouldn't be able to see her then.

"Relax I'm not looking," he said, sounding groggy.

Sanyukta relaxed and continued to feed the baby until a thought struck her - why did she trust him? How could she even do that?

"Too much fear isn't good for the milk," he replied, as if he read her mind, and she could tell his face was turned away from her.

Ignoring him, she finished feeding the baby and placed him on middle of the bed before pulling her shirt back on. Then she lay down as well and closed her eyes.

The next time they were woken up was when Raghav's cries filled the room.

Sanyukta stirred in the bed and Randhir's eyes opened. He picked up Raghav in his arms and took him out of the room, wanting Sanyukta to rest. Sanyukta closed her eyes again and fell into a deep sleep.

It was only when she woke up automatically an hour later, that she actually realized that Randhir and Raghav weren't in the room. Getting out of bed, she opened the door to their room and went downstairs only to see Randhir holding Raghav and kissing his face with a smile on his face.

For some reason, her eyes lit up and she smiled too watching him shower their baby with so much love.

He looked up and saw that she was up.

"You're awake?" he asked her.

"No I'm sleeping," she replied sarcastically, then she walked over to him and sat on the sofa next to him.

"He has your eyes," he commented.

She smiled and held his tiny fingers.

"He looks a lot like you though," she admitted.

Randhir looked up at her with surprise that she would even admit to such a thing.

"Are you feeling okay?" he asked her.

She shook her head and tears filled her eyes.

"No," she answered. "I don't know what's happening Randhir... all of this is so weird."

Then she sniffled and she wondered why she was crying in front of him... she shouldn't cry in front of her enemy like that. She couldn't expose her vulnerability.

"Sanyukta," he started, but she cut him off.

"I never kissed a boy and here I have two kids and I'm married. I don't even know how," she whispered, trying to hold back her tears. "How did this happen Randhir? Please tell me?"

181

Randhir didn't know what to tell her... how could he tell her that they had fallen in love? He wanted to wrap his arms around her and hold her tightly against him, but he knew he couldn't do that. He had to be smart.

"You know Sanyukta," he said softly, "When life gives you surprises, you just have to accept it because destiny was never in our hands."

"Destiny?" she asked him softly.

Could it be that Randhir Singh Shekhawat had been her destiny all along? No way... he was such a chauvinist. There was no way.

"We're here together, with two kids and married when we couldn't even stand each other. Isn't that destiny?" he asked her.

"I refuse to accept my destiny was with you," she pointed out. "I can't believe I am living eight years in the future right now. What happened in between? I don't even know."

"You and I got married after we finished college," he told her softly. "We lived in a small apartment, and then you got pregnant with Somya. After Somya's birth, I started my own company... Somya Steels, and it's been successful. That company is what gave us this house and this lifestyle."

He left out the part where Sanyukta had left them to go abroad, because he didn't want her to feel an ounce of guilt.

"What did I do?" she asked him in response.

"You worked in the beginning but then took maternity leave," he answered.

"Oh," Sanyukta replied, looking down.

Suddenly the baby started crying again and Sanyukta took the baby from Randhir and rocked him in her arms.

"I love him," she murmured. "I don't even how it's so hard to accept I have kids, yet it feels like I love them so much."

"You're a mother, that's why," he said softly.

"Why are you being so nice?" she then asked suspiciously.

"I told you, I'm not going to bother you until you get better," he said to her, "It's no fun."

She inhaled sharply and got up with the baby before walking upstairs to her room. Once an MCP, always an MCP.

Randhir smiled at her as she left - even today, when she got irritated or angry, she looked so cute. And even today it was fun to tease her.

182

In the morning, Randhir woke up before Sanyukta and saw that it was already getting close to half past six. He glanced over at her and saw that she was sleeping soundly... he decided to let her rest. After all, she wasn't getting much rest because of the baby.

Yawning, Randhir stretched in his bed and then went to Somya's room.

"Wake up baby," Randhir murmured to her and she woke up with a start.

"Where's mommy?" Somya snapped.

Randhir was taken aback by her tone.

"She's sleeping... the baby didn't let her sleep all night," Randhir answered softly.

"So she loves the baby more!" Somya replied, and then sat up in her bed, crossing her arms defiantly.

"Somya you know it's not like that," Randhir said and Somya angrily got out of the bed and locked herself in the bathroom to shower.

Sighing, Randhir went to his own room and got ready. After he showered and got dressed, he saw that Sanyukta was still sleeping soundly. He really wanted to go up to her and kiss her cheek, but he knew he shouldn't. He had to have some self control.

As he went downstairs to the dining room, he saw Somya was already sitting there in her school uniform.

"Who's going to braid my hair?" she asked, sounding irritated.

"I will," he replied.

"No!" she yelled. "You can't do hair! You'll ruin it!"

"Somya, today we'll just do a ponytail then okay?" he asked her softly.

"I hate this! Why isn't mommy even spending time with me?" she asked irritably.

Randhir sighed and went to the kitchen to pour Somya a bowl of cereal.

"Cereal?" she complained. "Mommy cooks stuff!"

"Somya your mommy needs to rest. She just had a surgery and now she needs rest," Randhir urged and took the cereal to Somya.

"I don't want to eat," she said defiantly.

Just then Sanyukta came downstairs in her nightclothes, holding Raghav in her arms. Passing Raghav to Randhir, Sanyukta went to Somya and said, "Come help mommy in the kitchen."

Randhir looked at her, surprised.

Somya sniffled and angrily followed Sanyukta in the kitchen.

Sanyukta took out a pan and some pancake mix before quickly making pancakes for Somya.

She got some maple syrup and handed it to her daughter.

"Here, set the table with this," she told her, and Somya irritably took it and silently went to the table.

As she took the pancakes to the dining room, she placed the pancakes on Somya's plate.

"Sorry sweetheart... I overslept," Sanyukta said, sounding guilty.

"It's because of the baby!" Somya replied, sounding annoyed. "The baby made you forget me!"

"Somya it isn't like that," Sanyukta said and Somya looked away, showing attitude.

"Somya!" Randhir then bellowed causing Sanyukta's eyes to widen. "You need to behave!"

Somya's eyes filled with tears.

"Randhir," Sanyukta whispered, trying to calm him down.

"You can't always be expected to be treated like a princess!" he yelled. "Your mommy loves you, but she loves your baby brother too... and he needs her attention now more than you!"

Somya started to sob uncontrollably and Sanyukta placed her hand on her daughter's shoulder.

"Please don't cry sweetheart," she said softly and hugged her tightly.

Then Sanyukta glared at Randhir, angry with him for hurting her daughter's feelings.
183

After Randhir left to drop Somya to school, Sanyukta took Raghav into her bedroom, fed him and then rested him on the bed before she collapsed on top of it as well, exhausted.

Being a parent was such hard work, and it hadn't even been a few days since she had given birth.

She slept soundly, but it was when the bedroom door opened about an hour later, that she woke up. Randhir had walked back into the room.

"You didn't go to work?" she mumbled.

"No, I'm working from home," he answered, and picked up his laptop from the desk. "Go back to sleep."

She just nodded, too exhausted to argue. Randhir left the room with the laptop, leaving the door open. When he came back in a few minutes later, it was to slowly pick up Raghav and take him to the guest room. Randhir was doing his work there. He didn't want Raghav to wake up and cry, consequently waking up Sanyukta as well.

A few hours later, Raghav woke up and began to cry. Randhir picked him up and gently rocked him.

Sanyukta, in her room, felt her heartrate increase although she hadn't heard anything. She woke up with a start. Perhaps it was mother's instinct, but she rushed out of the room to look for her son. She went from room to room, until she finally saw him in Randhir's arms in the guest room.

"Wow," she muttered.

How was he so good with babies? She admired the way he was holding Raghav.

Randhir looked up and smiled at her.

"Were you like this with Somya too?" she asked him curiously.

"What? No way! Somya was so hard," Randhir laughed. "But after taking care of Somya, I learned how to be a mother too."

"A mother?" she asked, sounding confused, and Randhir remembered that Sanyukta had forgot about their separation.

"Nothing," he said and then asked her, "How come you're up?"

"I dunno, I felt Raghav crying," she said with a shrug and walked up to him, before caressing her son's forehead. "By the way, why did you shout at Somya earlier? That wasn't nice."

"Sanyukta you're the one who always said that she shouldn't be spoiled," Randhir commented. "And here she is screaming that she doesn't get attention... she needs to learn! We can't always just pamper her. She's had enough of that."

Sanyukta frowned, not being able to digest that there was any need to shout at their daughter.

"Just don't hurt her like that. I don't like it," she told him.

"Look, now Raghav's sleeping," Randhir commented, changing the subject. "Let me set up the crib now. It's probably better."

Sanyukta took the baby from him and Randhir went to set up the crib. Once he was done, Sanyukta settled Raghav into the crib. She put a small teddy bear and soft toys in the crib for him too.

"I'll go back to work," Randhir decided then he turned around to leave.

"Wait," Sanyukta said, stopping him. "I want to ask you something."

He looked at her with surprise.

"Yes?" he asked her.

"I was wondering... I just want to know, how did we even have our first kiss?" she asked him. "It's just hard to digest and... and now I want to know."

Randhir smirked and walked up to her slowly. Gulping, she took a few steps back as he approached her. Finally, her back hit the wall and he placed both hands on either side of her, blocking her escape route.

Leaning forward, he allowed his lips to gently graze over her ear.

"I can show you how," he whispered seductively in her ear causing her stomach to begin performing somersaults.

Sanyukta shivered and he smirked, loving how the effect of his closeness seemed to be embedded in something deeper than her mind or memories. He brought his hands which were previously blocking her escape route down to her waist and he watched as a look of desire, shock, and even confusion appeared on her features.

"S - stop!" she whispered, trying to push him off her, but his grip on her was too strong. "D - don't Randhir."

"Why?" he murmured into her ear. "You don't like this Sanyukta?"

She closed her eyes as her heart started to beat at a rapid pace. Reaching up, she held on to the sleeves of his shirt softly.

"I d - don't think of you in that way," she whispered. "I can't imagine this... please don't."

He finally let go of her and took a few steps back. She took a deep breath and felt herself relax as the faint pink blush on her cheeks finally cooled down.

"You initiated the kiss," he replied to her earlier question, "It wasn't me who kissed you... it was you."

"What?" she gasped.

"You kissed me," he repeated. "We got into a small argument, and then you kissed me."

She looked at him with shock.

"No way!" she replied, stunned. "Why would I ever?"

"I told you... when a girl and a boy spend some time together, things happen," he replied with a smirk and then she turned red again.

"I wouldn't do that," she said, sounding embarrassed.

"You aren't as innocent as you sound Sanyukta," he warned and then smiled. "Get some rest okay?"

She nodded and in a trance, went to her bed... for some reason her heart started to beat faster again. Why were her breaths taken away when Randhir had come close to her earlier?

185

The days turned into weeks, and soon Sanyukta was almost all healed from the surgery. She even started to do some exercises when Randhir and Somya were out for office and school respectively to lose the weight that she had gained during her pregnancy.

Her and Randhir's equation hadn't changed much over the weeks. Randhir was distant from her, but not so distant that he ignored her. He teased her once in a while, but he would always give her space. His excuse, as usual, was that he was waiting for her to heal so he could mess with her. Somya was jealous of her younger brother because he got all the attention that she once had, as expected. Randhir tried to talk to her, but she kept up her irritated demeanour. Sanyukta showered her with as much love that she could manage, but Somya still didn't find it enough.

Raghav was now one month old, and he had grown a little bit. He would still wake up through the night a few times, leaving both Randhir and Sanyukta exhausted.

One night, as Sanyukta was sleeping on her side, facing the wall away from Randhir. Randhir opened his eyes with a smirk. Sanyukta had healed enough by now that it wouldn't be a bad idea to start his plan.

Randhir inched closer to her on the bed, before wrapping his arm around her waist and pressing his body against her back.

Her eyes opened with a start. When she felt Randhir's body against her back, his arm pressed against her tummy, she felt herself go stiff. She didn't know whether she liked this feeling or not, but she did feel uncomfortable.

She turned around slightly and saw that his eyes were closed, and he was breathing deeply. Gulping, she tried to push him back off her, but he was holding on to her too tightly.

"Randhir," she whispered, but he didn't open his eyes, instead he snuggled against her even more.

"Sanyukta," he moaned in his sleep.

The way he moaned her name made her turn red. She bit down on her lip, trying to take deep breaths to calm her fluttering heart. Why was she even feeling this way - it was almost like she felt good when he moaned her name like that.

"Wake up," she whispered.

Randhir groggily opened his eyes and nearly smirked upon seeing her face - she looked like she wanted him, but was not even admitting it to herself.

"Why am I here?" he asked her, sounding confused, still holding on to her.

"I don't know," she replied. "But move!"

"Why are you seducing me?" he asked her, raising his eyebrows.

"I - I'm not!" she told him, sounding offended. "You're the one pressed up against me!"

"Sanyukta it's been a while since stuff happened between us... a man has desires," he whispered huskily and her eyes immediately widened.

"Go - go get your desires fulfilled somewhere else!" she snapped and then pushed him back off her.

Hiding his smirk, he shrugged his shoulders and got up.

"Okay then," he said and stretched. "I will."

"What?" she nearly yelled, feeling irritated for some reason when he actually agreed to what she said.

186

Sanyukta got up from the bed and charged at him, irritation clearly etched on her face. How could Randhir, her husband, agree so easily to fulfill his desires somewhere else? What was wrong with him?

"What?" he asked her coolly, "If you don't want to do it, then I have no other choice."

"Y - yeah? Well, you can't leave!" she commanded, and he looked at her with a confused expression on his face.

"Why?" he asked her. "Why do you care?"

She grabbed his shirt angrily and pulled him close to her. Her lips were really close to his, and upon realizing this, she pushed him backwards.

"What the -" he said, surprised, "You yourself pull me close, then you push me away?"

"Just stay here. Why do I have to take care of Raghav alone?" she asked him, finding an excuse so he wouldn't leave her sight.

"But Sanyukta," he said, walking towards her again and wrapping his arms around her waist. "I am feeling very -"

"Stop!" she nearly screamed. "Don't say stuff like that!"

"I was going to say thirsty," he said with a smirk and she turned red. "I'm going to get water."

Then he let go of her and walked out of the door as Sanyukta fell on top of her bed, her chest heaving up and down as she tried to take deep breaths to cool down her system.

What was happening to her? Why was she feeling this way all of a sudden? When he spoke about being with others, she didn't like it... and when he came close, her body reacted weird, and when he said one thing, but meant another, she got disappointed.

Why had she just been disappointed when he said he was feeling thirsty? She should be relieved.

Shaking the thought away, she looked up as Randhir brought a jug of water and two glasses inside.

"I figured you would be thirsty too," he told her with a smirk, "Your face is red."

"What? No!" she told him.

She thought it was a sweet gesture though, to bring her water.

"Look Sanyukta, the only reason I'm bringing you water is because you won't let me sleep at night... you know what happens when you get desperate for water?" he asked her with a naughty smirk.

"What?" she asked, confused.

"You will wake me up and will try to get your water some other ways," he told her.

"What?" she yelled, her eyes wide. "You are so cheap! Disgusting!"

"I'm just telling you about stuff you've done in the past," he said with a shrug and she nearly collapsed on the bed.

What had she done?

She grabbed the jug of water and poured some water into a glass, her heart beating erratically, heating her body up even more. How could she have done something like that in the past? No way! She didn't even like Randhir! There was no way she could do any of that with him... but then again, the evidence proved otherwise.

Bringing the glass to her lips, she downed the water all at once, trying to control the thirst that was building up inside her.

Randhir watched her with a smile on his face. She could deny it all she wanted but her body was proving otherwise.

"Okay, I'm tired. I guess it is time to sleep then," he told her coolly. "I think you must have a problem though."

"What?" she asked him, irritated. "What kind of problem?"

"You look like you don't want to sleep anymore," he pointed out.

"What? Of course not! I want to sleep!" she replied defensively.

Then she put the glass down on the table and got back in bed. Randhir turned off the light and then got in the bed too.

She had turned away from him, not wanting to look at him for any longer. Smiling, Randhir turned to face her and inched closer until he was so close that he was able to lift his head to place his lips over her ear.

"I know you've been trying to exercise Sanyukta," he whispered to her, his breath tickling her ear. "I know a faster way you could lose the weight you've built up."

She gasped and her eyes widened. Turning around, she tried to push him back, but instead, she was caught in a trap under him, as he grabbed her arms and pinned them down on the bed.

"Stop!" she told him, her eyes wide.

"Why?" he asked her, leaning towards her. "You don't like this?"

Her heart was beating so fast that she couldn't even pretend. She glanced down at his lips, and for some reason she was drawn. His lips looked so good.

"N - no," she forced herself to mutter, her eyes still hungrily staring at his lips.

He smirked, and when she saw the upward pull of his lips, she knew that she was done for - there was no way she would be able to control herself now.

So she closed her eyes, anticipating that he would give her a kiss. Randhir, upon seeing this leaned forward and kissed her forehead. After his lips met her skin after a whole month, he felt his own heart beat faster. His eyes filled with tears, to finally be kissing his Sanyukta. It took so much self-control to not kiss her before today, even while she was sleeping, but today he felt like it was the right day to do it.

Sanyukta, on the other hand, felt herself get jittery when she felt his lips on her forehead. Then he pulled himself off her and lay down next to her on the bed, facing the wall, away from her.

He couldn't let her see his tears. She would wonder why he got so emotional over that one kiss... and right now, he couldn't tell her how much he loved her. It was not the right time.

Surprised, Sanyukta turned around to see why Randhir hadn't pursued anything more, but she saw that he was facing the wall away from her and breathing deeply.

"Good," she said out loud, "You finally understood that you shouldn't do that!"

A part of her wanted to provoke him so he got angry with her and kissed her, but the other part of her was trying to convince herself that she didn't like it when he was so close to her.

Randhir smiled through his tears, knowing exactly what she was doing.

How could he tell her, that no matter what she did, he couldn't ever be angry with her?

The next day, when Sanyukta woke up, she saw that Randhir was nowhere to be seen and neither was Raghav. Frowning, she left her room and went to find them. She finally found them in the dining room, where Randhir was sitting on a chair, holding Raghav, with Somya across from him, eating a banana.

Somya looked up to see her mom approach them and grinned mischievously before dropping her banana peel on the ground. As Sanyukta walked towards them, she noticed the peel on the ground.

"Oh Somya, be careful," Sanyukta said, and then bent down to pick up the banana peel.

Somya just shrugged and then started to peel an orange. She purposefully dropped the orange peels on the ground too, and Randhir finally noticed what she was up to.

"What are you doing?" he snapped at Somya.

"Eating," Somya said, sounding innocent.

Sanyukta looked down at the orange peels, and then back up at Somya in shock.

"You want to give your mom and dad a hard time?" Randhir then replied.

"What did I do?" Somya asked with a frown, "I didn't even do anything!"

"You're purposefully making a mess. Why?" Randhir asked her.

"The baby makes a mess all the time and you don't scold him!" Somya replied grumpily. "Why am I getting yelled at? The baby doesn't even do anything! It just sleeps and drinks milk and cries!"

"Somya!" Sanyukta said angrily, "Don't talk like that!"

Somya stood up and stomped her foot angrily.

"Both of my parent's hate me now! They only love the baby! I hate the baby!" Somya screamed and then stormed upstairs.

Sanyukta was about to run after her, but Randhir stopped her by saying, "Don't worry about her... she has to learn. I guess she misses the attention. I'll talk to her later tonight."

Sanyukta just nodded and then sat down across from Randhir where Somya was sitting. She kept the banana peel on the table and rubbed her eyes.

"I'm so tired," she muttered, "Why is taking care of a baby so hard?"

"It just is," he replied, before getting up with the baby in his arms and walking away from her.

She looked up in shock. Why was he acting so distant and not even talking to her properly?

Leaving the mess on the table, Sanyukta stood up and followed Randhir to the living room, where he sat comfortably on the sofa.

"Want to watch TV?" she asked him and took the remote from the table.

"No," he replied, and then stood up again, this time walking up the stairs.

Sanyukta's mouth fell open - why was he showing her so much attitude? It was like she was a stranger to him. Putting the remote back down, she followed him up the stairs, into their bedroom, where Randhir put Raghav back in his crib.

"Are you going to sleep?" she asked him curiously.

Randhir looked at her with an expression that almost made it seem like he thought her question was strange. He just grabbed his wallet and car keys and started to walk out the door, ignoring her.

"What the hell?" she muttered under her breath before running after him. "Where are you going?"

Randhir sighed and stopped in his tracks.

"Do I have to tell you my every move?" he asked her.

"Yes of course!" she responded, "Why are you behaving like a stranger? Last night you were all over me!"

Randhir looked at her like she was crazy.

"I don't know what you're talking about, but I don't feel like I need to tell you each and every place I go to. So it's better for you if you focus on your own business," he said to her, his tone cold.

For some reason, her heart dropped, not liking that he was being so cold towards her.

"What happened?" she asked him, feeling sad.

Randhir just ignored her and walked out of the house. Her eyes filled with tears. Why was Randhir showing her so much attitude all of a sudden? Why did she even care so much?

189

That night, when Randhir came home, he went to Somya's room first. She was already sleeping, so he decided not to bother her. He didn't want to be harsh on his daughter, but she was being too much. She couldn't have so much jealousy and anger towards her younger brother... she had to understand that now the attention she used to have was going to be shared with someone else.

Randhir entered his and Sanyukta's room quietly. She was already fast asleep, and so was Raghav. With a sigh of relief, he locked their door and then went into the bathroom to change.

His earlier behaviour was not done with the intention to make her feel upset. He just wanted to ignite a spark within her. Somya indirectly taught him this. Too much attention was not the way to go. Sure, it was fun to tease her and watch her turn red... but, in order to have her realize what she felt for him, he had to do something to make her miss him and want him. If he didn't give her an opportunity to miss him, then how could she feel that?

Once he got into bed, he propped himself up on one arm and watched as she slept soundly.

He reached forward to caress her hair, but he stopped himself in midair. No. He couldn't do that. What if she woke up? It would ruin everything.

Randhir lay down and closed his eyes, a soft smile on his face, because he was grateful to even be sleeping next to her right now.

The next few weeks went on like this, with Randhir hardly giving her any attention. He hardly looked at her or spoke to her, when he spoke to her, it was just one word responses. He would stay at work for hours on end. Sometimes, he would even pick Somya from school, drop her home, then go back to work, just to avoid Sanyukta.

Sanyukta felt sad by watching his behaviour, but there was nothing she could do. She herself didn't know why she was feeling sad. All she knew was that she didn't like it when he acted so distant, like a stranger to her... but confronting him about it basically meant that she admitted that she cared about what he thought about her. She couldn't do that, because she herself couldn't accept that she cared.

One day, Sanyukta was working out on the treadmill, when she heard footsteps outside the home gym. She was almost back to the figure she had before the pregnancy, and she was confident that in another couple of weeks, she would have the body she used to have.

Her whole body sweating, she turned off the treadmill, and then reached over to her towel to wipe the sweat off her forehead. Raghav was sleeping upstairs, and she had a baby monitor next to her in case he started to cry. Somya was at school, and Randhir was supposed to be at work.

Picking up her water bottle, she gulped down the contents of it thirstily, as she heard the footsteps enter the gym.

She looked up and saw it was Randhir, who was in his own workout gear.

She was going to ask him what made him come home from work early, but she refrained from it. After all, she was only going to get a short answer... and it would be full of his attitude. Most of the time, Randhir would work out in the evenings after he finished work.

Sanyukta went over to the dumbbells and held some light ones in her hands, before doing squats with them.

Randhir looked away from her, as he went to the heavier weights and started to lift them. Sanyukta glanced up at him as he was working out. Those muscles... those were some sexy muscles. She nearly scolded herself for the thought. No way. She couldn't think like that.

She tried to focus on her squats, but Randhir started to sweat, which drew her towards him more.

Randhir glanced at her from the corner of his eye, and noticed that the way she was doing the squats in a tank top and short shorts, with her butt sticking out made her look attractive. It was hard for him to control himself.

The reason he even came here at this time, was so he could draw some attention to himself while she was working out. If they both worked out at the same time, then she would check him out, and it would certainly ignite feelings of desire within her. It seemed to have a two-way effect though, because watching her work out was making him have wild thoughts about her.

Randhir then shook himself out of his reverie, knowing that he couldn't let himself get lost in her right now... he had a purpose to fulfill first. Putting the weights back down, he walked up to her slowly, his whole body sweating.

She gulped as he approached her and nearly dropped the weights.

"Careful," he warned, and she glanced up at him, shocked that he said something that was caring for once.

He ran his hand through his hair and her heart started beating faster than ever. Why did he have to look so good?

Licking his lips, he approached her. She glanced down at the lips that he just licked... for some reason, she wanted to close the gap between them and lick his lips for him.

No. She couldn't have such wild thoughts.

"Can you leave?" he then asked her, trying to sound cold.

She felt like a stone was thrown at her heart.

"Why?" she asked him painfully.

"You keep looking at me while I work out," he pointed out, "It's distracting."

"I - I was not!" she replied defensively.

"Uh... yes you were. Why were you even looking at me?" he asked her.

"Why are you here?" she snapped.

"My choice," he replied coldly. "Work out some other time."

"No!" she snapped, "I'll work out now."

"It won't come for free," he told her, this time, his lips curving upwards to form a smirk. "Are you sure you want to pay the price?"

"What price?" she asked him, her chest heaving up and down.

Randhir walked towards her and took the dumbbells from her hands gently so she wouldn't drop them on her feet accidentally. Then he placed them on the ground before taking a step towards her. She took a step back, and nearly tripped over another set of weights on the ground.

Randhir leaned forward and wrapped his arms around her waist protectively, preventing her from falling.

As she looked up into his eyes, he seemed to have gotten lost in hers.

Sanyukta's hand reached up to grab his tank top.

"You won't be able to afford it," he whispered.

"What is the price?" she whispered back, and glanced down at his lips, which looked so appealing.

"You will have to do what I say for the whole day. Do you agree?" he replied softly. "If you want to use the gym now I mean... or you can go."

"Y - yeah," she replied, lost in him, not understanding what she was getting into.

"Good," he said with a smirk and then pulled her up on her feet.

Then, realizing what she agreed to, she gasped.

"What? No way!" she snapped. "I don't have to pay a price to use this gym. I was here first!"

"Too late, you agreed," he told her with a smirk.

"No!" she flatly refused.

"You will have to listen to me Sanyukta. There is no other way around it," he said with a smirk and then grabbed his own water bottle and drank from it.

As she watched the water fall to his lips, another wave of desire hit her.

"What do you want me to do?" she finally asked him.

"I want you to be a good wife," he replied.

"Meaning?" she gasped.

"Meaning, you have to satisfy your husband in every way he wants," he responded, smirking.

Sanyukta felt like she would die on the spot - she couldn't say yes, but for some reason, she wasn't able to say no anymore either... could it be because this had been what she had secretly wanted all along?

190

She had to be a good wife and satisfy him in every way he wanted. Sanyukta felt herself blush at the thought of what kind of satisfaction he was seeking, but of course, she didn't accept that it made her feel giddy.

They went back to their respective exercises and each of them tried their level best to not look at the other. One time, Sanyukta caught him watching her with what she thought were lustful eyes, and she smirked.

She got down on the ground and started to do sit ups. Randhir dropped his weight on the ground, took off his tank top, threw it aside and then walked up to her.

"Here," he said, and pressed his hands down on her feet so he could help her.

"What are you doing?" she asked him, pretending to sound offended, but in reality glad that he had come to her.

As she eyed his shirtless body, she felt a strong wave of desire hit her... what she wouldn't do to get closer to him right now.

"You aren't doing them properly, so I'm helping you. I'll hold your feet down, you do the situps," he said to her.

"Why are you helping me?" she asked him suspiciously.

"I want my wife to get her hot body back as soon as possible so I can enjoy," Randhir replied with a smirk.

Sanyukta's mouth fell open and she was about to get up and push him off, but he was too fast for her. He leaned over her laying figure. Her legs fell flat on the ground as he came closer to her, her heart beating with excitement.

"On another note, I think I should start my pushups," he whispered into her ear and her breath caught in her throat.

She couldn't say anything - words weren't coming out of her mouth. His arms were on either side of her and he used his strength to push himself off the ground with her under him. As he pushed down on her, his lips grazed against her earlobe causing her whole body to fill with desire.

She squeezed her eyes shut, liking the feeling of him against her.

"Do you like it when I do this to you?" he whispered huskily into her ear before he pushed up off the ground again.

She wanted to grab him and pull him down against her so hard so that the thirst that was building up inside her could be quenched, but she couldn't find the courage to.

So she just stayed silent, and felt his body rub against hers again, his lips brushing over her ear once more.

"You were trying to turn me on earlier?" he murmured into her ear huskily and her whole body broke out into a sweat.

He pushed off again and this time, when his body rubbed against hers, he whispered into her ear, "You look sexy when you do squats."

Sanyukta gulped and bit down on her lip, trying to control the desire that was intensely building up within.

When he pushed off her again, this time he got off completely and stretched.

"I am done here," he told her with a smirk. "So are you - come make me some food."

Sanyukta sat up, her heart beating erratically as she tried to cool the heat that was burning her entire body.

"MCP," she grumbled under her breath and stood up, before she picked up the baby monitor and followed him into the kitchen.
