Actress Priyanka Chopra will soon be a part of the international Virgin Comics.
It looks like her stunt filled roles in DON and the yet-to-be released Drona has inspired the actress' comic character as well. Priyanka's as-yet unnamed character will be an adopted girl who discovers she is of royal lineage and blessed with great mystical powers and has a duty to destroy evil. She will be seen as a super heroine character in comic books, games and animation films through them.
Priyanka's animated as well as comic version is extremely similar to the actress and almost feels like just another role in her upcoming films. The series, which will be developed by author Deepak Chopra and director Shekhar Kapur, will only hit the stands in 2008. Excited with her entry – a first for any Ex- Ms World - Priyanka says, "I love cartoons and animation, so being able to create my own original superhero with the Virgin's amazing talents of artists and storytellers is a dream come true that I hope will capture the imagination of a new generation of Indian youth."
Priyanka is not the first Bollywood actor to make her way into comic books. Gulshan Grover was the first who was recently included in the American comic book series Nephilim where a character called Azazel was especially developed keeping Grover's features in mind.
Priyanka's inclusion in Virgin Comics comes as a part of Richard Branson's company launching a whole new series of stories with acclaimed filmmakers, actors and musicians like John Woo, Guy Ritchie, Terry Gilliam, Dave Steward, Ed Burns, Nicholas Cage, Duran Duran and Sachin Tendulkar!
