Kareena: SOS from Shahid via KJo

While everybody thinks that Kareena kapoor Khan signed Udta Punjab immediately after hearing the script, here's the truth: It took the actress three months and a lot of cajoling from good friend Karan Johar before she said yes. Kareena laughs, "I was sitting on the film till considering whether I should do it or not when I got a call from Karan (Johar) to sign the film. He said Shahid requested him to call and persuade me as it was a role perfect for me." Now who says exes can't be friends?

LOL...that's not a surprise. It's not her type of movie at all.

She did JWM also because Shahid convinced her 😆

I was wondering what took her to take the leap for this one.

She honestly is the most cowardly actress outta all her contemporaries.

A part of it is that whenever she does try something where she's central character, or the film's a little different, the movie doesnt do well.

I think if Heroine had worked, it would have changed up her strategy.

Yeah apparently she wasn't sure about JWM and Shahid told her it would be the perfect role for her or something...I think either Imtiaz or Kareena let this out.

LOL that is the biggest irony..but I think Shahid does well when he's picking more 'critical' scripts. He loses it when he tries to go the commercial route.

That's true yet some of the commercials did end up beings tad bit successful.

Hopefully, UP and Rangoon do wonders for him.

You have to appreciate KJo's guts. First Bebo begged him to save her face and he signed her for GTPM after kicking out Parineeti and when it was a disaster blamed him for misguiding her by making her sign GTPM instead of RL. Despite all this drama he goes to her again recommending her to sign a film. If it flops then she has a scapegoat ready.
