"Push, Kusi ...push..don't close your eyes please...it scares me " Arnav held her hand in a tight grip, the other busy wiping her sweat.



"I will close my eyes!" She almost shouted, breathless. The pain was killing her.



"OK OK ..." he caressed her forehead. His heart ready to burst out from his chest. God! He had never felt this scared and helpless ever in his life. "But please keep talking to me ...please.. "



" It's paining ...so much" she breathed.

"I know I know ...shh ... Be strong, OK ..be strong, Kusi ... God!" he leaned in and pressed his lips to her forehead. She is so tiny, so fragile. "Be strong , please ... please ... God! We are never going to have a baby again .." he swore.

Khushi's eyes jerked open at that declaration. "No! I want more babies ...I ouucchh..." another spasm hit her fast, stopping her breath for a second.

"Bhai, you are not supposed to tell her that" Maria interjected. She don't know out of the two, who was under labor exactly.

"Sorry ... sorry, Kusi .." he caressed her hair. "What is happening, dammit! Do something!" he blasted at the mid wife.

"No.. Don't look down ... don't.."

Arnav leaned over her face. "I am not, Kusi ..I am just looking at you, I promise..."

"Yes..Look at me ..don't look down ..."

"I won't.."

"One last push, my lady ..just one push ... close your eyes and push hard..." the mid wife said.

Arnav just stared at his wife, who nodded her head and closed her eyes. Arnav tightened his hold on her. "Push Kusi ...You are very strong, remember..." Arnav said. And soon the room lit by lamps was filled with soft cry, which felt like a melody to his ears, making his chest burst with emotions. "Kusi .." he leaned once again, fighting back the tears.. "It's over ... Kusi , open your eyes ...you are scaring me .."

Khushi blinked her eyes open. "Tired, Arnav ji ..." she said in a small voice.

"I know ...I know ...I am ...I ..am so happy ..Thank you Kusi ...thank you for everything ...I love you so damn much ...I love you dammit ..."

Khushi smiled and leaned into his touch. "Hum bhi aapse I love you, dammit .."

Arnav chuckled and gave her a sweet kiss.

"No no sweetheart , don't go near the edge.." Arnav shouted as he saw his daughter running by the lake. "You will fall, baby .."

His daughter turned to look at him, innocent smile playing on her lips. She looks just like Kusi, just like he had wanted. His little baby girl.

"Then save me, Papa ... you know to swim ..." she giggled and sprinted off, her pink gown flying behind her

Arnav leaned against the tree and pulled his wife in his arms. "She is just like you, never listening to me .."

"I never listen to you?" Khushi asked as she circled her arms around his waist and leaned into him.

"No ..." he stared in her warm eyes for few seconds before his gaze shifted to her swollen belly. He lifted his hand and caressed the bump softly. "If it was on me, you wouldn't have been pregnant again... You scared me last time enough to not walk that path again even if it means never making love to you again ..."

Khushi giggled. "But I want you to make love to me .."

Arnav rolled his eyes. "That's exactly what I am saying ... you always get your way ..."

"Amma, time to go back!"

Their little girl announced as she stood in front in front of them. Done with her playing.

"Yes.." Arnav stood up, helping Kushi to stand beside him. "Come on, sweetheart.." he picked his 3 year old daughter in his arms and took his wife's hand in his, walking towards their home.

"Eric!" Diana wiggled out of his Father's arm as she spotted her cousin.

Eric turned to look at her. "Call me brother!" He said sternly.

"Eric! Eric! Eric~~~" she sang the last part, making everyone laugh.

Maria giggled as she made her way towards her fuming Son. "Eric, dear, it's all right. She can call you by your name ..She is only a year younger to you .."

Diana ran towards her aunt.

Maria swept her off her feet. "Oh my baby, did you enjoy your time, sweetheart?"

"Yes, aunt Maria .." Diana kissed her cheek. "Enjoyed very much. I threw stones in the water , making ripples.. Eric never plays with me ..." Diana pouted.

"Wait till Sandra learns to walk, then you will have a companion, right? She will play with you.." Akash walked in, carrying her one and a half year old daughter in his arms.

Diana smiled. "Yes, Sandra will play with me..."

"I also want a boy to play with me!" Eric demanded.

Maria looked at Khushi. "Oh then your Badi Maa can help you. Hope we have a boy this time so that you can have a companion"

Eric ran towards his Khushi aunt. "You will give me a baby boy to play with, Badi Maa?" Eric asked.

Khushi smiled at her nephew. "I hope it's a baby boy..."

"Come on everyone in ..I have made cup cakes .." Maria announced.

Arnav saw everyone going inside and once again took Khushi's hand in his.

"Thank you, Kusi.." Arnav whispered to her as they walked together.

"For what?"

"For coming into my life and filling it with so many vibrant colors of happiness... Thank you very much ..."

Khushi leaned into him and smiled. "My pleasure ..." Khushi giggled, making him chuckle.

"I love you, dammit.." Arnav said, wanting to hear her cute reply.

"Hum bhi aapse I love you dammit ..."
