Looking forward to the interview.😛
Some of the questions which come to my mind are;
1. How much of influence & inspiration your late father Anjaan himself a famous lyricist had on your style of writing?
2. Have you had any other influences in your life which inspired you to become a lyricist?
3.. Which are the song or songs of your father do you cherish the most?
4. How was the experience working with 1. Mr.Sanjay leela Bhansali 2. Monty sharma on the upcoming blockbuster Saawariya? There were reports that out of 24 songs the final list came down to 11 in the film, so any thoughts on the discarded songs & your favourite among the selected ones.
5. Don't you feel there is too much punjabification of the songs these days with the excess use of mahi, mahiya, soniya, mangda, lagda etc etc?
6. There is also lot of usage of english words these days in Hindi film songs so what are your views about it & do you feel the need to maintain the purity of the language to an extent?
7. Do you feel that the poet in you gets supressed and the role of a song writer becomes predominant most of the time?
8. Recently Vishal the MD of OSO was accused of changing the original lyrics of Ankhon me teri ajab si written by Javed saab, so have you ever faced such a situation & if so to what extent do feel you could compromise as demanded by the situation?
9. Have you at any point in your career suffered from the notorious writer's block, and if yes how did you get over it?
10. Any special occasion which you think was memorable during your long career?
11. Apart from writing lyrics any other aspect of film making like dialogues/script/screenplay have you undertaken, and other art forms which you interest you?
12. Which MD you feel has done justice to your songs the most & any particular song which comes to your mind?
13. How did the pen name "Sameer" happen ( Real name Shitla pandey)?
14. You have a master's degree in Commerce, yet choose a completely different field, so how did the transition happen?
15. Among the emerging new lyricists who has impressed you the most?
