After the much deserved success of Haider last year Shahid Kapoor's Shaandaar failed to ignite the desired response at the box office but no onecan deny the fact that Shahid is truly a gem when it comes to Acting & experimenting in roles and he has proved it time and again with movies like Haider, Kaminey, Jab We Met etc.

He has certainly the best line-up of upcoming films amongst young actors in the industry. He has signed films with the brilliant directors like Vishal Bhardwaj, Abhishek Chaubey & Vikramaditya Motwane.

Shahid has always managed to blend in the genres well in his career. Possibly the only actor of his generation to do a double role with great acclaim.He has always worked to break the mould.

Over 12 years in the business and still after 12 years he stands at the stage of Filmfare awards with the that black lady in his hand being given by the legend Amitabh Bachchan as Best Actor 2014. That moment alone was enough to tell he is here to stay and he will never back down. No matter he gets into 100 crs club or not. No matter his films do well or not. He will always be proving Why he is the Best Actor of his generation.

Shahid 's zeal and honesty towards his work hasn't changed. And his intense passion for his craft, unhindered.

After the success of R...Rajkumar which made him the Youngest action star of the masses and possibly one of the rare youngest hero to try an Prabhu dheva action film first time and get success & then Haider when audience lauded him for his incredible acting prowess which helped him prove a point. That he's still not finished yet, as many others would want him to be. Then he again got a dud in the form of Shaandaar last year.

But If we look at post Shanadaar time or 2016, Shahid is making the most interesting choices ever. Why we say so? Shahid has a series of filmes lined up back to back which might make 2016 the Best Year for Shahid Kapoor.

Udta Punjab, being a Abhishek Chaubey film who is a protege of Vishal Bhardwaj, we expect nothing but brilliance from it. Udta Punjab is based on the drug menace of Punjab & boasts of a stellar cast - Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Kareena Kapoor & Diljit Dosanjh, all in a film together. Chaubey has proved his unique and unconventional filmmaking style in both of his previous films and we have high hopes from this one too. Music by Amit Trivedi added will make Udta Punjab an enthralling experience for sure. This film already looks like a Winner. Shahid has already said on record that its most tough and challenging role of his career & he pretty seems confident about the film and so we are!

Then comes Rangoon, which reunites Vishal Bhardwaj and Shahid again after two gems Kaminey & Haider but this time will Kangana Ranaut & Saif ali Khan. Rangoon is a dream project of Vishal which apparently means it would be his Best work so far! Its a huge scale film set in a period of World War 2. Just imagine a war love story with phenomenal actors like these, Music & direction by Bhardwaj and no compromise done to weave the threads of this magic of Bhardwaj by Sajid Nadiadwala. We already are literally dying to see even a lookof it. Vishal has said in an interview that its his most ambitious project. With a theme of War & love and production team like Sajid Nadiadwala backing up the Dream of Vishal Bhardwaj on their shoulder we are sure Bhardwaj will craft a painting to be remembered for a long long time.

Queen, Haider & Langda Tyagi in a film together. What do you expect, eh? Undoubetedly, The Movie of The Year!

Finally you have Vikramditya Motwane's Ak Vs Sk that also stars Anurag Kashyap but not much is known about it, so it wouldn't be right talking about that one.

Nevertheless, with two brilliant looking films lined up in a matter of nine months, 2016 might just prove the best year for Shahid. Undeniably so.
