The Farhan-Adhuna divorce was long time coming. But there rumours that it was his closeness to his Rock On 2 co-star Shraddha that caused the crack in his long-standing marriage. No, the truth is something else...

It's the season of break-ups in Bollywood it seems. After Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif called their relationship off, Adhuna Akhtar and Farhan Akhtar jointly issued a statement announcing their divorce.

The official statement reads: This is to announce that we, Adhuna and Farhan, have mutually and amicably decided to separate. Our children remain our priority and it is immensely important to us, as responsible parents, that they be protected from unwarranted speculation and public glare. We sincerely request that we are given the privacy that is required at this time to move forward in a dignified manner."

There were murmurs for quite sometime about their relationship coming to an inevitable end but the couple decided to speak on the issue only now. Previously, there were reports about how Farhan and Adhuna had a fallout over Farhan's growing closeness to his co-star and how he had moved out of his house and was staying with his sister Zoya Akhtar. Now, all of it seems to have turned true. Only with a slight difference.

The co-star everyone was refering to initially was Shraddha Kapoor, who's all set to star along side Farhan in Rock On 2. But now, we hear that Shraddha's not the reason behind the couple's split. It's Aditi Rao Hydari. Aditi and Farhan starred in Wazir and have been really fond of each other. Their growing proximity towards each other was the main reason Farhan and Adhuna started having multiple fights.

While the couple was still going through a lot of stress, Farhan who usually attends events and parties with wife Adhuna in tow was suddenly seen making appearances alone. But at Karan Johar's party last week, Farhan decided to make an entry with Aditi hand in hand. That's what put the final nail in the coffin and Adhuna decided to separate from Farhan.

Desite this not being official, it will anyway be evident in the coming few weeks. Will Farhan slowly make his relationship with Aditi public? We don't know!
