"Playing 60-year-old Tulsi was a huge challenge for me and that's the reason I accepted the role. Putting whitener on my hair and getting to play someone I'm not in real life is what I found exciting. I am very different from my screen persona. Actually in real life I'm more bubbly, energetic and happy. Playing such a different role gives me a kick and I'm having a blast."

"Initially it does feel weird playing mom to people almost your age. But this is the current trend on TV, you get to play your age only if you are 16 years old. It's strange to have people call you 'mom' but I have lived the character for almost five years and now I'm a part of it. I still remember when I first met Amit Tandon, who plays my son, at the Balaji Telefilms' office and I realised he would be playing my son, it was really funny. I got used to the idea later."

"I think it's horrible to play such an old character. I will never accept any other such role, at any cost. Kumkum is the only show for which I have donned this look, it's my first and last for sure. I am doing this because Kumkum is my baby, and I have been playing Kumkum since she was 21 years old. Moreover, the story reached a saturation point, where it had to take the generation leap, and I did not want to be the reason to block it by quitting. Last but not the least, Juhi is still young…"

Plays - 50-plus father, Karan Virani, in Kyunki..., and, 70-plus business tycoon, Pratham Mittal in Kasautii Zindagii Kay

"As an actor, I get the chance to play different type of characters on screen, so I don't have any qualms playing an older character. When it comes to young characters, we have some clichd roles like that of an egoist young brat, with juvenile attitudes. But in daily soaps when you grow older, you tend to get mature scenes where you can emote well and prove your acting skills. Although I am playing father and grandfather to people of my age, I am quite comfortable with it!

thanx.......im thinking juhis like 26......shes young so why hide her age?.......damn that means she was playing a mother to people her age or even older(gaurav, vivan).....that must be really weird....but at the same tyme ud always have something to laugh over.......she does it so convincingly though......naina

thanx for article.well it was necessary to take leap so she had to but i think kk is looking better and nice than leap.

i too think ju is 26.

she is so young and yet is playing a 50 something character. she is a great actress and is playing kk to perfection

she plays kumkum as mother was fantastic.

Juhi and Hussain have really done well as ma-pa in the serial. They have acted it out convincingly. and even with resistence the way they have blended themselves it looks so real. Behaviour, mannerism, style all a perfect 10.

i loved her scenes with ant too

she has played maa-saas,bahu-patni-bhabhi very well

Any character in Kumkum or other serials or as host Juhi was fantastic.

her saas character was also so convincing even her bhabhi character too was done so beautifully

mid-20s..that means 25/26/27...why isn't she revealing her real age??all her interviews just have her b'day as 14th December...no year...she's a terrific actress to be so young & portray such elderly roles...that's why I wanna see her & Husein in more serials playing their age 😕
