Akshay Kumar is already laughing his way to the bank. The actor, according to sources, has signed a film for a huge sum of almost Rs 41 crore! The film will be produced by Venus and directed by Priyadarshan.

This is how Akshay's payment will look: Rs 20 crore as the signing amount, Rs 10 crore before the release of the film, and a 54 per cent partnership in the negatives rights of the film. This also makes him the owner of maximum recovery from the distribution rights

A source says, "The budget of the film is Rs 50 crore including his remuneration. It is expected to go on the floors in 2008." As for the huge figures, Ratan Jain of Venus says, "I am not very comfortable talking about the figures but it is true that we are working with Akshay soon. We are definitely looking at huge figures." The producers are banking on the Akshay Kumar-Priyaandarshan combo to make this deal a success.

Is Akshay also a 54 per cent holder as far as the negatives rights of the film go? Ratan Jain says, "It is not fair to give out information about business deals."

Jain finally gets down to talking about the subject of the film but all he says is, "We have zeroed down on a fresh subject. And this time it will not be a remake of any South film. Priyan and I have been working on the subject for long now. The film will go on the floors by mid next year."
