A source says, "The budget of the film is Rs 50 crore including his remuneration. It is expected to go on the floors in 2008." As for the huge figures, Ratan Jain of Venus says, "I am not very comfortable talking about the figures but it is true that we are working with Akshay soon. Jain finally gets down to talking about the subject of the film but all he says is, "We have zeroed down on a fresh subject. And this time it will not be a remake of any South film. Priyan and I have been working on the subject for long now. The film will go on the floors by mid next year."
