Would my wife care about my gynecomastia?

I am a 28 year old desi guy living in the US. I have agreed to my parents' request to get an arranged marriage.

I have a job, come from a good family, am a nice guy. But I have moderate gynecomastia. If I choose my shirt carefully it's not noticeable, but its obvious when I'm shirtless.

My question is should I get surgery to remove it?? I am not worried about my own image, my friends love me all the same. I'm just worried about what my future wife might think of me on our "suhaag raat".

An older married friend told me not to. He said the most important thing in a guy is self-confidence, not good looks. Instead I should focus on my career and my wife will appreciate me more for that. Is that true? He also said that your wife might actually view you negatively if she found out you had plastic surgery to remove it.

The thing is I've only had the opportunity to date white girls in university, and my experience was that they cared a lot about looks, and very little about things like career. I'm not sure if that's true with desi girls too.

Desi girls, if you have any comments, please share. Or guys who have had the same issue and got married, please tell me how it went. This issue is stressing me out, so please comment !!

(I apologize if I offended someone with this post)

It's your body. You should choose what to do with it.

Of course, you can discuss it with your future partner, and maybe decide to get the surgery done later. That is up to you, but you should discuss it first. Don't jump to conclusions about your partner, and hope she doesn't about you.

Many women have polycystic ovarian syndrome, making them more likely to grow facial hair and have increased body weight. It's all hormonal, you didn't choose it.

And one should love the person, not their body. :)

Good luck.
