Films which are HIT with content

Films which are HIT with non-content (as per image)

Content films which aren't HIT

So u need Stars to get your film push towards hit mark, only content can have average or semi-hit kind of success.

Even stars like Akshay kumar & Ajay devgn can't get hit film with content.

All these films had their flaws. Like DDD was marred by its stupid climax. For NH10 I think the violence put off the audience. Drishyam I dont...it was a good film but just lacked something on which I can put my finger on. Same applies to DLKH and Baby.

On BOI, Tevar was trended like there is no film in bollywood which has seen that kind of craze, at end it's just semi-hit. Same was said for Manjhi, shown it's better than disaster all is well, at end below average.

Hunter is in same league as Hate Story 3, only content wise hunter is better, but not having any star like zarine, daisy or ksg.

As some srk fans feel Dilwale is being targetted with bad wom to pull it down, same was done for Prdp, it isn't easy, almost impossible to get clean hit for a film having highest budget of 180 cr. It also got 106 cr distributor share, from makers to distributor everyone made money. Money came from appreciation for prdp from audience itself. Without content it would have done only 130-140 cr.

One more salman film jai ho was semi-hit, panned it to be worst, so if that Salman film getting semi-hit tag was nothing, so is these content film getting semi-hit after excellent wom and high ratings.

Drishyam is average ? sad !! it is a clean movie with good content ! watched in regional language didnt watch in hindi though !

For me content is a film that would still be successful if the main lead wasnt a big actor. Thats content for me. If any other actor did Bajrangi Bhaijaan, it would've never been successful. Take out Salman, and you have a very average storyline!

Not really. Take out salman and put any decent actor in his place ( like Ajay or Ranveer), the movie does well because content was great. The difference between Prem Ratan and Bajrangi collections is mainly explained by the content of both films. And the difference is HUGE.

i think this year content actually worked, an the best examples are Piku and Badlapur which were well-made content films. Even tamasha got a good opening, and did average business despite being purely content -driven.

Films which had contnet but were badly made flopped, thus showing one cannot take audience for granted.
