Chapter 9
Next morning, Raman again reminded her before leaving for his office which made her nervous all over again. With the same nervousness, she went to Toshiji's room, who was busy arranging the room, Ishita walked in and sat there silently.
Toshiji : Ishita Beta! Did I tell you, Pammi's daughter has come back from UK after completing her studies?
Ishita nodded in reply. Toshiji sensed her little low and nervous.
Toshiji : Ishita, Is there any problem Puttar?
After few moments of silence, Ishita spoke hesitatingly : Yesterday, Mihir called him and invited him for the party and he wants me to come along with Raman!
Toshiji : Oh! So this is the matter! And I thought that Raman told you something... And look, I was making up my mind to scold him in the evening!!
And she giggled on her own thought but Ishita didn't respond. She was busy with her own thoughts. "You must go Puttar!" Toshiji spoke lovingly, caressing her head. "I know what you are thinking. But such things would only help your relation to grow."
Ishita : But mummyji..
Toshiji : No if or but. I will handle everything. You must go.
In the evening, Raman barged in his room in a hurry. He didn't look for Ishita and immediately went to change for the party. After few minutes, he came out in a steaming Black suit- enhancing his charismatic stature all over again, adjusting his coat.
Raman : Madrasan! Are you ready?
He was moving to the bed side mirror but stopped in mid- way, seeing the ravishing sight in front of him. Ishita was decked up in a black net Sari with a magenta blouse, completely fitting to her curves and enhancing her shining beauty all the more. She was busy in putting up her ear rings in front of the mirror. Raman slowly moved towards the dressing and stood behind her, a little distant. His eyes were denying turning away from such a mesmerising sight. Raman was spellbound- he was completely hallucinated with her breath taking divine charm. The moment she saw him through the mirror, her heart skipped a beat. They shared an eye lock through the mirror but suddenly, his cell phone rang in between. Both of them immediately came out of their trances. A strange awkwardness was filled in the room.
Raman attend the call : Yeah... We'll reach there soon. Bye.
He cut the call but both of them were silent, searching for words to break it. "Amm.. We are getting late!" Finally, he spoke hesitatingly. Ishita immediately walked out from there.
Raman hit on his head saying : You are an idiot, Raman!" He spoke to himself and followed her.
The drive was quiet and a bit awkward. To lighten the atmosphere, Raman turned on the music which definitely helped a little. After a couple of minutes, they reached the venue. Raman carefully parked his car and both were walking a bit distant from each other. Suddenly, at the venue entrance, Ishita felt a jolt on her shoulder and she tripped on Raman's arm. Raman immediately held her by her waist saying : Ishita! Are you OK?
Ishita : Yeah... I am fine!
She adjusted herself. Their arms were entangled with one another. Meanwhile, Mihir came there to escort them.
Mihir : I am glad that you came here Raman and thanks for coming Bhabhi! Well... I must say, both of you are looking ravishing together... in Black!! Come let's go inside!
Inside, Raman and Mihir introduced Ishita to their other friends. Everyone was treating her so well. But all this while, Ishita's palm was tucked with Raman's arm and his palm was resting on hers and both were unaware of it.
Both of them were busy in chit chatting with others. Ishita soon got mingled with Raman's friends they all were having a good time when, suddenly, Mihir's voice grabbed their attention.
Mihir : Ladies and Gentlemen, may I have your attention please! It's feeling great to see all our batch mates together after so long. All our good memories are back once again! But guys... Enough of this boring chats! Let's have some dance and fun! What you all say... hunn?
And with that, everybody started shouting in excitement.
Mihir : Alright then... I request all the couples to come on the dance floor, especially, our newly wedded Couple in Black- Mr and Mrs Raman Bhalla... They'll commence this dance party!!
And everybody started hooting once again with claps. Raman and Ishita were stunned with the announcement. They looked at each other shockingly. Till then, Mihir came near to them.
Raman whispered : Mihir, what is this yaar...? We can't dance!
Ishita : Raman is right Mihir ... We can't!" she spoke in the same tone.
Mihir : NO! This is not done Raman... And see, I have already announced it too... So, both of you have to join over the stage now!!
Raman : But I can't dance Mihir.. And you know that very well!!
Raman tried to convince him. Mihir looked at him disappointedly. Ishita thought his words worked upon Mihir, so she also planned to use the same trick, "Even me too Mihir... I too can't dance properly!"
Hearing this, Mihir's face lightened up and he clapped, "That's great then...!" Both of them looked at him bewilderedly. "Both of you don't know dancing then it's going to work great... The problem would have occurred if only one of you have been a dancer!! So, it's final, you are going to dance!!"
Raman : But Mihir..." Mihir dragged Raman and Ishita to the dance floor without listening to their excuses. "Mihir, listen to me... We can't dance! Trust me!" But he didn't pay any heed to them and announced, "So, everybody pull up your socks and let's hear it for... Raman and Ishita!!"
And the venue thudded with a huge round of applause. Raman and Ishita were looking nervously all around, trying to find some escape door. Suddenly, the lights dimmed; both of them looked at each other helplessly.
Finally, Raman whispered defeated : We have no other choice Ishita!!
Song started to play in the background.
Kehte hain khuda ne iss jahan mein sabhi ke liye,
Kisi na kisi ko hai banaya har kisi ke liye,

Mujhko banaya tere jaise hi kisi ke liye...
Raman forwarded his hand towards Ishita. She, first, looked at him nervously but when she saw his calm eyes. Her pounding heart came to a hold and she automatically handed her hand in his. Raman gently pulled her towards him. She put her hands on his shoulder, still looking in his eyes. Raman mildly slide his hand around her bare waist. His touch shivered her a little and a gasp skipped her mouth.
Kuch to hai tujhse Raabta... Kuch to hai tujhse Raabta,
Kaise hum jaane hume kya pata, kuch to hai tujhse Raabta...
Both of them got lost in each other's eyes. They started to move along with the lyrics.

Kisi na kisi ko hai banaya har kisi ke liye...
Raman pushed her slightly away and she rolled back in his arms, hitting her back to his muscular chest.
Meherbaani jaate jaate mujh pe kar gaya,
Gujarta sa lamha ek daaman bhar gaya,
The fragrance of her hair and perfume got mixed with his breath. He slided his palm over her navel. A sudden shiver ran down through her spine and she closed her eyes in strange excitement. Her heart was beating so fast.
Tera nazaara mila, roshan sitara mila,
Takdeer ka jaise koi ishara mila,
Both were moving along with the song. Raman pulled her more closely in his chest and tightened his grip. She could feel his hot breath on her bare nape. She twitched her eyes more. Suddenly, she broke the vicinity around her and tried to walk away from him but he caught her hand again. She turned to look at him with heavy breaths. His intense eyes stole her heart beat all over again- full of passion and desire to have her near him always. She got hallucinated with his passionate gaze and moved towards him again, lost in him.
Sadiyon se tarse hain, jaisi zindagi ke liye,
Teri sauhbat mein duaayein hain ussi ke liye,
He again put his hands around her bare milky waist and she wrapped her arms around his neck slowly. Their eye lock was increasing their hidden passion every passing second. Raman pulled her closer to him to which their lips inches away from each other. Ishita closed her eyes tightly in anticipation. She could feel his hot breath on her lips.

Mujhko banaya tere jaise hi kisi ke liye,
Kuch to hai tujhse Raabta, Kuch to hai tujhse Raabta,
Kaise hum jaane hume kya pata, kuch to hai tujhse Raabta...
Suddenly, Raman pushed her away slightly, but with the same intense gaze at her.

He twirled her round and round through his finger and she did the same, completely lost in his eyes.

And she rolled back and fell in his arms, still matching his gaze with hers. After a moment of pin drop silence, the hall thudded with huge round of claps. The applause broke their trance and they immediately straightened themselves. Mihir ran towards the floor with a huge grin.
Mihir : Hmmm... So Mr Bhalla, you don't know dancing... hunn???
Ishita and Raman looked away in embarrassment.
Mihir chuckled : What a dance yaar... Both of you just nailed it!! I am in love with this song once again!!
Raman hesitatingly looked at Ishita, who was blushing profusely. Her cheeks were rose red in shyness and so were Raman's. Everybody again applauded them and they left the stage. In the rest of the party, they didn't talk to each other at all. Even, they were standing quite distant so that they could not face each other. After the dinner, Raman went to her with courage. Both of them neither face each other nor tried to speak. Suddenly, "Shall we go?" Both uttered in unison. None of them replied and they both left for their home.
The drive went quiet. A strange awkwardness had overpowered both of them. They were stealing glances of each other but would quickly turn their eyes when they found the other staring. With the same silence and embarrassment, they reached home. Raman quickly went upstairs without saying anything.
Ishita thought : Why did I get so affected with his touch? Aiyyo!! It's too tough to face him after that moment.
She sighed deeply and slowly entered her room with nervous and hesitant mind. Raman was coming out of the washroom but on seeing her, he stopped in mid- way. They shared a small eye lock but soon, Raman turned his eyes other way and went to the bed. On the other hand, Ishita went to change too. Raman was adjusting his pillow when Ishita came there. None of them spoke anything. Ishita took the blanket and pillow and put them on sofa, then she switched off the light and quietly settled on the sofa, Raman was still sitting on the bed, he remembered their dance moment
Raman thought : What had happened with me? I was attracted towards her. No. Raman. You can't. You have to talk with her.
He was going to get up but stopped thinking : No. No. I'll talk with her tomorrow.
And he slept down... for a sleepless night!!
