Love is when she is the first one occupying your thoughts when you wake up; love is if her thoughts just won't let you sleep at night. Love is if you still feel his touch even when he is not around; love is when you blushthinking the way he looks at you; love is when you dosen't feel the absence of the other but you are rather busy romancing the sweet memories.
Nandini was sitting in the taxi which drove her to Malhotra mansion but her thoughts, her mind and heart was left at penthouse. She blushed and smiled remembering how Manik was cribbing and being romantic with her when she suddenly remembered the mysterious text that Manik received and how he forced her to go to the mansion. Worry lines appreared on her forehead as she thought about the changes in his behavior.
Suddenly the taxi screeched to a halt pulling her out of her thoughts. "madam aap ka stop aa gaya." Driver's voice brought Nandini back to reality. Nandini stood in front of the mansion still thinking about Manik "uff Nandini what is wrong with you?" suddenly she thought "Its Manik and you love him so chill." She had a heart to heart with her brain and shooing away all the bad thoughts she walked in happy and smiling.
She greeted DJ with her morning herbal masala tea and greeted her with her usual smile good morning DJ. How are you feeling now?" DJ smiled and replied "Good morning beta and I thought you are not coming so how come?" Nandini frowned as she was again reminded of Manik's weird behavior and said "Manik he sent me." DJ sighed and ssaid "this ladoo is weird I am telling you." Nandini chucked the topic and asked "where is badi ma?" now it was Dj's turn to frown "Don't ask she is also been behaving so weird. She went out early saying she will be home late night." Nandini spent some more time with DJ and left for college.
Nandini spent the rest of the day taking care of the organization for the concert and she sucessfuly managed to pull in few big sponsors to underwrite the event along with Abhi. They even went and spoke few NGOs and Charities which briefed them on how to form a charity. Nandini and Abhi started the procedure to form the trust and made DJ the chairperson of the trust.
"Abhi I think you should ask Manik once about making me the chairperson." DJ expressed her apprehensions but Nandini smiled and said "DJ, Manik will be the happiest if this happens." After being assured by Nandini and Abhi DJ happily agreed to become the chairperson and they named the trust as "UMEED".
If Nandini was busy planning to make the concert a success for Manik and Fab5; manik was busy working on making his love's 18th birthday the most special one. The morning text which changed Manik's behavior towards Nandini was from badi maa who was helping Manik plan a beautiful surprise for his angel.
Manik and Damini had been toiling since morning to make her birthday special. "you know badi maa Nandini hasn't celebrated her birthday since her parents died. All she did was attend the pooja that AMS used to organize for her. She doesn't even remember the day but this year I want to make her 18th and coming every birthday most special for her." Manik said while looking at the sea and sipping coffee which they made taking a break from the work. "I have always felt incomplete but ever since she came into my life I feel alive, she makes me feel alive. The love I see for me in her eyes makes me the richest person in the world; she has the heart of ocean and limitless love and all I want to do is give some of it back to her." Manik spoke his heart out to DJ.
Damini sat there hearing her son's honest confession of love for a simple girl who was a nobody in the crowd but she was Manik's whole world. "she is very lucky to have you Manik." She said and Manik looked at her puzzled. Damini smiled and ruffled his hair saying "yes Manik Nandini is very lucky to have found you. She found her whole family in you. Your love has the passion of a lover, care of a mother and warmth of a father. She found the broken strings of her in tuned with you. You two are made for each other beta." Manik smiled on hearing this.
They choose the theme for the birthday as princess since manik called Nandini his princess. The theme of the party was white and Manik was almost done with most of the preprations. But there was something that was bothering him and that was the way he was avoiding Nandini in order to surprise her. Nandini has been calling Manik since morning and he avoided talking to her as he had planned something very special and unique for her. He knew that she would love it without any doubts but at the same time he was sad that he was hurting her. He knew by now Nandini's apprehensions would grow by 100 times more but he wanted that to happen.
"Manik we need to send out the invites.' Damini said bringing him to reality. "yes badi maa." Manik was about to say something when Damini stopped him and said "there in one invite which I want you to deliver personally." She handed him the card which read "Gayatri Malhotra". Manik looked at the ccard and before he could say anything Damini interrupted and continued "Manik! Nandini is really fond of Dj and I know even you have been missing her. I saw yyou evesdropping our convo so don't even try to pretend you don't care. You want to make it special for Nandini na then go and invite DJ." And Damini's trick worked and they both drove off to to Malhotra mansion.
DJ was sitting on the couch going through some files when she heard a familiar voice, she looked up to find Manik. She was looking at him surprised as he looked her with a frown. "hey Manik!" Abhi greeted him and he too replied with the same zeal "hey Abhi!" he then put the invite in front of DJ and addressed Abhi "Just tell her that day after tomorrow it's Nandini's birthday so there is a party in our beach house. Nandini would like if she attends and PS it's a surprise for her so don't mention it."
DJ looked at Abhi and said "Abhi tell him unless I am invited directly I won't attend. I am Gayatri Malhotra owner of Malhotra Empire and I don't accept invites in third person. If he is Manik I am his DJ; attitude zyada hai use mera." And she got back to doing her work. Manik and everyone's jaws dropped to touch the floor with sudden turn of tables. Manik looked at Abhi and said "fine Abhi here we go." He took out his mobile and played an invite which was recoded in his voice. After the recording stopped he turned back to go but stopped midway and said "Abhi tell her I am her grand son dimaag bhi inse zyada hai." And walked off leaving everyone smiling ear to ear.
It was 12.30 am and there was still no trace of Manik. Nandini had been trying to call him unsuccessfully since morning and now it's been two hours his phone was also switched off. Had it not been Cabir with her she would have gone insane; Cabir kept her busy with some activity or other; he made her laugh with his jokes and distracted her mind from Manik inwardly cursing Manik for troubling the innocent soul so much even if it was for good reasons. He even made her eat with on the pretext that he can't eat alone. Nandini could not say no to Cabir and ate. But soon the sedatives and medicines took its effect and Cabir slept and Nandini's mind again was a nervous wreck all thanks to Manik.
It was around 1 am when Manik finally made his appearance in the house and found the most beautiful view in front of him; Nandini was sleeping on couch hugging his blazer. For a moment he felt bad and his heart wrenched on seeing her poor state as there were few tears at the corner of her eyes. "I am sorry princess but all this will be worth when I see my favorite smile and your surprised face tomorrow night. Just 24 more hours." He pecked her lips and slowly walked to their bedroom with her in his arms. He tucked her in and slid next to her and slept taking her in his embrace. Even though she was in deep slumber she could feel his touch and sunngled more cozily into him, making him smile.
It was 9 am in the morning and Nandini had overslept due to the exhaustion of the day before. She opened her eyes and found herself on the bed. She understood Manik had brought her here but the million dollar question was where was he? She jumped off the bed and looked all around the house calling his name "Manik! Manik" but her was no where in fact she realized even Cabir was missing. Just as she sat figuring out where the boys are Abhi entered the house informing that Fab5 is out practicing as they all needed a change.
Nandini's heart sank; it's been more than 24 hours since she has seen him, touch him, cuddled him or kissed him. She was craving for him and his indifferent attitude had now started to bother her. Had it not been Abhi around her, she would have cried. But as luck would have it Malhotra industries needed Abhi for some work and he had to leave Nandini alone which was against Manik's plan as he knew she would cry once alone. Manik's assumptions came true and as soon as Abhi left Nandini locked herself in the bedroom and cried holding Manik's picture.
She didn't realize how long she cried but she fell asleep crying. Suddenly around midnight she heard manik calling her in pain. "Ahha Nandini!" he screamed and baffled Nandini ran down the stairs to find Manik.
