He sat outside, in the dark; his eyes covered with the strong grip of his elbows; weeping incessantly.

He was a mere spectator to the brutality inflicted upon his mother. He saw her; crying, pleading her intoxicated husband who had no sense of time, place or even his young son. That beast hadn't even realised what he was exposing the young innocent mind to. He was inebriated; pouncing hungrily on the helpless woman. He ripped her clothes apart; robbing her off of her self esteem, her self respect. He had witnessed how she hung herself to death. It wasn't suicide, it was murder. He felt stifled.

A young lad of thirteen was thrown into bewilderment. He resented the world... he hated his mere existence. The fact that he was born from that man made him feel nothing but shame. How could he tolerate a moment longer under the same roof as that animal?

The young boy sat on the streets in the middle of the night; the terror fresh unwilling to come out of the shock.

What would it take for him to come out of that one terrorising memory?
