Previously: He opened it and his yes then focused on a photo...it was her...Khushi...the one whom he had been looking for. Arnav felt anger building inside him, he would not let her get away easily and that was a promise.

"I don't know what is wrong with Arnav, I guess that the workload lately is too much," Lavanya said and Khushi just nodded. Lavanya told Ramu to lead Khushi to her room and help her settle down while she went to have a look at Arnav.
Lavanya walked to the study room as she guessed that he might be there for the phone call he had to make. Ramu asked Khushi to follow him upstairs and she was led to a guest room which had been readied. Khushi kept her suitcase in a corner and sat on the bed. She kept her both hands sideways and took a deep breath, why had all of this happened...Khushi started sensing her head throbbing and she opened her handbag. She fished out a box and she took a few pills and gulped it down.

"Arnav!" Lavanya exclaimed as she stood near the entrance of the study room. Arnav had been talking to one of his staff and he put down his phone as soon as he heard Lavanya calling out to him. It was by luck that he got time to keep that file back in the drawer and hid the key before anyone came. He had then received a call from his office.
"I'll talk to you later Adi," Arnav said through the phone before he disconnected the call. He then looked at Lavanya," Let me go and change, then I'll directly join you at the dinner table."
"Okay, I'll just go and check whether Khushi is comfortable,"
As soon as Lavanya left, Arnav hit his fist on the table," Why do you care so much for that b*tch who destroyed everything, she finished the person who loved her a lot, more than his own life, and after playing her games, she dares to come to my house! I'll not leave her, I will bring her to the streets, and expose her real face to everyone that even you Lavanya, you'll throw her out of our house!" he whispered in an angered tone.

"What's it Khushi, don't you like the food?" Lavanya asked Khushi who was barely eating anything. The dinner table had 5 places and Arnav was sitting at the narrower side while Lavanya sat next to him and Khushi was sitting on the other side of the table, a seat away from Arnav.
Arnav managed to control his emotions and went back to eating but he knew that he would have to put on an act so that he can seek his revenge so that justice is met. He was not yet ready though as he needed some more time to pull himself together.
"Lavanya, actually, I don't eat much as I've got a small appetite,' Khushi said as she toyed with her fork.
"Or, you've lost your appetite," Arnav sarcastically thought.
"Do you want something lighter?" Lavanya asked with concern while Khushi simply denied and ate a bit just to relieve Lavanya from any worries.
Khushi shot a look at Arnav before getting to eat, she didn't know why she felt something strange in front of him. She shrugged all the bizzare emotions and dessert was then served.

After dinner, Arnav, Lavanya and Khushi were sitting in the living room. Arnav sighed and officially declared to himself that it was time to start the drama. Lavanya was asking Khushi about her job and Arnav decided to chime in. However, before he could speak, a vibration was heard. Khushi excused herself and answered the call. She walked away from Arnav and Lavanya and she conversed with the person on the other line.
"It's ok, I understand," Khushi said these last few words before ending the phone call. He face had sunken and Lavanya was intrigued," Who was it Khushi?"
"The HR manager at the place where I was supposed to be interviewed just called and he said that they had already shortlisted some people and they were not going to interview any more people," Khushi said with disappointment.
Arnav rolled his eyes, but he started thinking of something at the same time, he had gotten an opportunity and he could not afford to lose that. Lavanya felt sorry for Khushi," It's a pity that you were not selected,"
"That's all right, maybe I was not destined to get this job," Khushi said with regrets.
Arnav thought scornfully," And you were destined to come in my house so that I expose your real face to everyone," He shoved his thoughts away and for the first time, he talked to her, "Well Khushi, I have a vacant place in my company and I could consider you as a suitable applicant,"
Lavanya quipped," Yes Khushi, that's a great offer, t his way, you'll be staying here for some more time,"
Khushi was unsure, Arnav's eyes was on her and she felt a little jolt, she wanted to refuse, but she nodded in approval as she glanced at him and caught a gleam in his eyes.
Arnav forcefully curved his lips to form a smile," I'm glad you considered my opinion Khushi, let's talk more about it tomorrow,"
Arnav left the living room then and went up the stairs to his room. Lavanya excused herself too and soon, the living room was left empty.

Khushi had changed in a pair of lighter clothes and she pulled the duvet on her and set her alarm for the next day. She was a bit withdrawn as there had been a change in her surroundings. Previously, she lived in a flat in Delhi which she had obtained by scraping off her savings...as after the incident that happened, her parents had ousted her out of the house. But, it was not her fault, everyone made mistakes but she would have never done such a thing by her own will, she was made to do such a thing. She was not comfortable staying at Lavanya's house and she had some doubts whether Arnav was related to HIM. Their surname was alike and the way he was looking at her...like he wanted to kill her on the spot. However, she felt an unknown feeling whenever Arnav looked at her... or talked to her. His deep masculine voice made her stomach somersault...but she knew that she must clear off all those muddled up feelings. What if Arnav was actually related to HIM? She needs to know the Raizada family tree, and if her suspicions are correct, then she will have to move away...

Arnav on the other hand was not going to sleep a wink tonight. Arnav looked at Lavanya who was sleeping beside him with a contended smile on her face. He pecked her on the head and then got up from the bed and slowly tiptoed to his study room making the least possible noise. Arnav removed his cell phone and 23:18 flashed on the screen as he switched it on. He then made a phone call to the person with whom he was talking to earlier, Aditya Malhotra, the manager of his company. Aditya was Arnav's friend and apart from Arnav, Aditya knew about the incident which had shaken Arnav's life.
"Adi, I have news," Arnav whispered to Adi through the call.
"About what?" Adi said, intrigued.
"Two years back. Raj." Arnav simply said as he clenched his fist.
"Are you serious?! Man, you've got to be kidding me,"
"She is under my roof and I won't let her leave from here until I give her a taste of her own medicine!"
"What's the plan?" Adi said realising that Arnav's tone was serious.
Arnav discussed for a couple of minutes with Adi and he then cut the call.
"Let the drama begin," Arnav thought and he left the study room.

Cough.
Khushi got up in a sitting position. She sighed. There was no trace of water in her room and she was coughing badly owing to her parched throat. She tossed the duvet aside and made up her mind to go get water from the kitchen. Khushi turned the knob of the bedroom door as carefully as possible, she did not want to disturb anyone. Khushi walked along the length of the corridor and she reached the stair cases. The lights were not lit, except for 2 candles that had been placed on the sides of the staircase.
As Khushi was descending the stairs, Arnav was taking the way up. She froze right in her tracks...barely a centimetre away from Arnav who was equally taken aback. Arnav stared at her with no emotions but when he looked at her face, he wanted to believe that she was innocent. Khushi felt that her heart beats had increased. The light from the candles made their shadows conspicuous. Arnav veiled all his disdain for her and expressed fake concern," Are you alright Khushi?"
Khushi let out a series of coughs and then she finally said," I'm fine, I just needed water,"

Arnav settled himself on the bed and Lavanya was still asleep. Arnav lied down looking at the ceiling, all those images flashed before him, he could never forget that day.
